  1. Doesn't anyone remember ?
  2. So then...why are you here exactly? To become the biggest spammer in the Obsidian Forum Community. Isn't it obvious? Anyway, I remember playing a demo of the game a bazillion years ago and finding it completely uninteresting. That's my job.
  3. Is it a PS2 launch title that was later ported to Windows and Mac OS?
  4. Is it a third-person RPG developed by Volition, Inc?
  5. Harvey Smith is one of the main reasons Deus Ex 2 was so ****ed up (all he cared about was streamlining it to the point it was just a slightly interactive novel or movie). This is not win at all. He also played an important role in the original, and I'm sure the sequel taught him a few lessons on what not to do. With that in mind I'm certainly interested in learning more about the game he's working on.
  6. So, do you plan on posting big ass spoilers?
  7. Yeah, and a billion other stories. Seriously, the idea that Bioware ripped the concept of characters with a tortured past from PST is ridiculous.
  8. A concept frankly ripped from Planescape Torment. lol. This is almost as bad as when I saw someone claim that Bioshock ripped it's art style off from Fallout. Have you played Torment? Yes.

  10. Er, that's more than most shooters on console and PC.
  11. The DLC will be available on day one. Those who buy a new copy will get the DLC free with the code, others will need to pay $15, apparently.
  12. I definitely have to recommend Crysis for the stealth pick.
  13. Finding a game or comic book character attractive doesn't mean you'll only respond to it in an extreme kirottu-style way.
  14. I really enjoyed Bioshock, but I haven't been following the sequel and surprisingly I'm not terribly interested. I suppose I'll pick it up at some point. I am terribly interested to know what Levine is working on, especially since they've come out and said it's not necessarily what people think in response to speculation it's a new X-com game.
  15. REPORTED.
  16. Why not? It's what everyone else does. What is fun and entertaining depends on the individual. That is, it exists only in their head. Entertainment can be many things, and "simple laughs" is one of them. An entertainment product that succeeds in providing mindless fun is better than one that tries and fails to offer something more. The rest of your post can be summed up as: Hey man, like, open your mind. You'll, like, totally learn and appreciate stuff. Yes, that does seem to the problem with this particular discussion. If I press 1 on the keyboard and then aim and press the mouse button to shoot the enemy, then I'm interacting with the game world. You seem to be asking for a choose-your-own-adventure style branching storyline. Lack of branching story lines isn't really a new problem (as in games being so expensive to make now) as the more branches you have, the move work the developer needs to do, which is as true for both AAA blockbuster RPGs as it is for text adventures, and not every developer sees it as a valuable thing. Valve, for example, makes strictly linear games as they see no value in putting extra work into something most people won't even see. I prefer games like Deus Ex, Thief, or Hitman which feature mostly or completely linear stories, but allow me a bit of freedom in how I complete missions. Freedom in how I interact with the gameworld in order to advance the story, even if the story itself remains the same. The end slides of games like Fallout and Dragon Age are nice, but I prefer small changes that occur while I play, rather than big changes that I can read about once I've finished playing.
  17. The problem is that these "passionate" people on this board confuse love for one thing with hate for another. Yes. Constant whining on message boards does not equal passion. At least the Age of Decadence guys took their love of an old game and have tried to make something similar and better, rather than just endlessly repeating the same old complaints.
  18. Unless one thinks the Obsidian Forum Community is the be all and end all of computer and video game criticism, the overall response to Assassin's Creed was positive. The repetitive pre-assassination missions and long cutscenes, the two biggest issues with the original, are gone in the sequel.
  19. I just replayed and have a level 60 femShep. I've got paragon points out the wazoo, and a couple renegade points on account of accepting a mission from Helena Blake and giving information regarding to the . Having the DLC certainly helps max out your level.
  20. Perhaps you're thinking of Damnation? Anyway, I really liked Crimson Skies, but this doesn't interest me. I watched some of that video and it reminded me of the Iron Man demo I played once upon a time. Which is not something I cared to be reminded of.
  21. Cows are not cute. It doesn't matter how "nice" an animal is. Koalas can be real bastards but everyone still thinks they're cute.
  22. The cuter the animal, the less likely we are to eat it, but what if the cutest animals are actually the tastiest?
  23. Probably, but that's beside the point. Anyway, to simplify things, why do we treat different animals differently?
  24. Why do we eat some kinds of animals, but not others?
  25. The only reason to think this is if you assume that everyone follows the same criteria of what makes for great movie-making that you do. Popular does not equal good. Popular does not equal bad. Popular means people like it. This is true whether we are discussing a product or a work of art.
