  1. That would be screwy. Or maybe they're looking to kill the Planescape setting for good.
  2. There are load times, so you'll have to sit this one out.
  3. Same day as Assassin's Creed comes out, I'll bet that's the week after's. Prediction: CoD 4 Assassin's Creed Mass Effect Wildcard - Mario Galaxy But remember that the guy lives in Australia, so it's all dependent upon when games hit there (see: Super Paper Mario review). So we have to be mindful of that.
  4. WE CAN HAS PATCH PLZ? <3

The "central vision" isn't necessary relevant. When you have two versions of a single product, one of which is more complete even in a minor way, you're going to want the complete version, and you can't be blamed for that. As long as bells and whistles don't interfere with the "central vision" of the game there's no reason why a player shouldn't be dissatisfied when he gets less than what he would otherwise be reasonably entitled to, ie that which players in another part of the world get.
  6. you could link it, I suppose. I don't know why you would, though.

I wouldn't say that to someone who wanted to get Carmageddon but could only get the german flying-garbage-can version. There's nothing wrong with wanting an unadulterated version of something everybody else has. The edited version of Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut removes all the sex and doesn't really change anything else but nobody's going to argue that it doesn't lack the same vision as the unedited (Japanese, of course) version. The only difference between The Witcher and Manhunt 2 is that Manhunt 2 was a game that sucked and wasn't worth defending. If The Witcher is actually good I want a version that hasn't been compromised.
  8. The means to completing the crazy grrl storyline are given once you beat the Skein quest.

    Magic garbage cans!
  10. I went through the Wood Man and Sunken City quests before hitting up the inner Vault. From there it was just a matter of buffing Okku and letting him go to town.
  11. Screw that. He should do Fallout, Torment and perhaps Bloodlines. I'd love to see the poopstorm that would create here and at the Codex. He's already hit the zenith of fanboy bitchiness, the Zelda fans. The Codex will be a cakewalk in comparison. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he got death threats.
  12. I had a red ring once about 6 months ago. My brother's been playing Halo 3 nonstop for a few weeks. You have to be sure it's the correct red ring (3 segments). 4 segments just means there's a problem with the A/V out connection. And multiplayer sux.
  13. I suppose I could join in. Haven't played TF2 yet, unfortunately.
  14. At least they're cutting out the DeviantArt middle man.

  17. I honestly wouldn't mind a lvl 40 cap campaign, perhaps taking place across the planes, where such things as epic enemies and mounds of artifacts everywhere are slightly less preposterous. It'd be nice to have it relate to the shard-bearer and the Sword of Gith (wasn't there something in the OC epilogue relating to the sword?) since MotB, while I did like it, felt more like a Bond sequel (the main character in a different situation not connected to the first) than a proper continuation of a story. Maybe a second xpac could tie the two together. But if that doesn't happen I think I'd actually prefer a mid-level campaign. Maybe go a step farther with the concept they introduced in KOTOR2 and have a set of questions at the beginning about different past situations and the PC can choose what happened, thereby affecting the game. But that's just wishful thinking on my part. I've found that 1st-4th level is the most boring part of a D&D game, for me.
  18. Hey, you can't QFT yourself. We've got standards here.

Did you not have a television in the '90s?
  20. If would be Stephen Kings have skewed expecations, yeah. MotB was an RPG. A DnD RPG. A DnD RPG from Obsidian entertainment, makers of KOTOR2. If somebody seriously complains about how everybody talks for long periods of time and usually not about immediately pressing matters I'd wager they either never played a DnD CRPG before in their lives or knew what they were getting into but still somehow felt entitled to something different. Like somebody getting up in the morning hoping the sky would be red and being disappointed when it wasn't. There have been enough games of this type by now that you shouldn't honestly expect a core element like reams and reams of dialogue to go away without it becoming unrecognizable. If it bothers you that much you should look elsewhere for your enjoyment. But optimally, it shouldn't bother you.
  21. So it's another Wednesday, and for those of you who like awesome things that don't suck, there's yet another Yahtzee Croshaw game review. You ladies and gents might remember him from his inspiring Bioshock and Orange Box reviews. Well, he's kept on going, and this thread will be dedicated to ongoing discussion of the profound truths derived from these videos. If somebody doesn't beat me to it, I'll post links every week. This week the brit expat in Aussieland took a crack at the newest Zelda, Phantom Hourglass. Catch up, if you haven't already: Medal of Honor:Airborne Super Paper Mario (my favorite) The Orange Box (posted in the thread dedicated to the game) Tabula Rasa Halo 3 Peggle Manhunt Tomb Raider Anniversary Some of these are pre-Bioshock review, some aren't. He also has some stuff up on his personal site (Fable and The Darkness reviews) that aren't on Zero Punctuation.
