Someone on Codex said that Sawyer has been playing a lot of Skyrim lately. Research or just good/bad taste in games? I hope its research on what NOT to do in an open world RPG. The draw of games like Oblivion and Skyrim is, for some reason which I don't understand, their 'exploration' potential. I've never cared for exploring in video games, at least not as a main activity and honestly there is nothing really to explore in those games anyway. Its all just the same dungeon copied and rearranged into different shapes.

Sure. 'Cause you said so. By definition doing things sequentially is inferior to and less complex than doing things simultaneously. That is something to be said about stat/roll based combat and a turn based system giving player time and space to analyze the situation and choose the best tools for the job. It's like D&D was designed to be turn-based or something! Ninjas are better than Pirates. I know because I saw a Ninja once but never a Pirate. Discuss. Wow the first encounter! Haha Sorry I didn't respond. Was too busy enjoying how much better the game is now :D

Bethesda doesn't make games with character progression. They make worlds you can walk around and kill stuff in.

I'm interested in getting Eothas' side of the story. Because it seems like he got shafted big time just for trying to help.

Actually their game was already revealed at PAX. You may not have noticed because it was very subtle. They are working on a mobile city building game with timed resource gathering and farm simulation mechanics set in the world of Nascar 2018. Really interesting stuff.

Well, I don't think bugs are something that are avoidable these days, so I don't blame Obsidian OR Bethesda for having buggy games especially when it comes to RPGs. All I know is that when I first completed PoE, it was before all those major patches that fixed the game. Before White March I and II as well. My reaction to the game was kind of luke-warm. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either and didn't play it again until after white march part II came out. Today, its one of my favorite games. So yes I'm waiting because according to my experience with PoE, patches do matter.

I'm curious what they will come out with next any idea?

I'm still waiting for the real Fallout 3 New Vegas is all the real Fallout 3 anyone could need... minus the isometric gameplay, maybe There is that and a few other things. Even though its still my favorite game of all time, its got a lot of flaws. -

I don't know if I'd even be interested in another Fallout game even if it was developed by Obsidian. Bethesda has done so much damage to the series and made so many mistakes with the lore and game mechanics that at this point I have to assume its impossible for them not to be inherited into a new game no matter who the devs are. I wish they would have just stuck to their crappy TES games and kept contracting Obsidian, but oh well.

Well I've said this before, but I hope more than anything that the game Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarski are working on is a sequel or spiritual successor to Arcanum.
