  1. I answered both your questions on the other thread you made on exactly the same subject. Please, read one before repeating yourself. Having a character model and making the game playable in 3rd person are two different things. It's not just the case of moving the camera to a different place - it's would take a big amount of work to impliment it, and it seems more then Obsidian could spent for this game. It is that way, because team working on OW1 is still farily modest for that kind of projects and it's the first game in the series. Making new game from scratch takes far more work then making the sequel. It's possible that in OW2, they will be able to accomodate it. OW doesn't have official mod support. Even so, people can create simple mods for it, it seems. Nature of PC gaming. Consoles can't do it, because they are consoles. It's closed and controlled enviroment. It comes with its boons, but in the end consoles are consoles and PCs are PCs - it's less flexible experience. Also if you want **** there are better ways to find those then Outer Worlds mods.
  2. Feargus said previously he would like Skyrim-like set in Eora, so that's assumption is not a crazy one, even if it could be a bit outdated. Personally, I am not sure if Eora is a good universe for franchising. It's mythology, arcane and history are a bit too heavy and too deeply tied to a conflict central to PoE1&2. I don't think one can make a spinoff without making it odd for new comers or going against what made some players like the setting in the first place. PoE2 also proved that the IP isn't a reliable money-maker. Still, how long was this project in development and would PoE2 poor financial performance have any effect on it? Still, Obsidian's finest work came from odd projects. Perhaps, a challenge of adapting PoE into big budget, accesible Skyrim-like would result in something to remember for years. Whatever they are cooking I am interested in seeing it.
  3. Devs are aware of the demand for 3rd person view, as well as modding support and other popular requests. However, with Outer Worlds being first game in the series and a game built on a modest budget some compromises had to be made. Apparenty, doing 3rd person view would take a significant amount of resources and OW was made with First Person View only.
  4. Yeah, I remember playing it on launch. As far as action-RPG I thought it was rather excellent at the time. Too bad content weren’t interesting. Did first big area and never came back to the game. MMO roots are very much present.
  5. That’s not true, especially later in the game once you have more characters to play with. I played through desp1 multiple times, and with every time I do things differently. it is, however, vague on how things works - enemy cone of sight and gun damage are never properly explained, and stuff like range and detection speed vary level to level. Stuff like noisy surfaces aren’t well highlighted. As such it will include a lot of failure, with no real fault of the player. Desp3 is much more clear and consistent, which means player has all they need to success. It does have puzzle like quality to it, but there are no encouraged solutions outside tutorial bits. Doing right now no save runs, and they are quite fun as they encourage more careful approach.
  6. Well, but it is for something alright.
  7. Well, that was fun. I am ready for more. Gimme DLC levels!
  8. Laura Bailey, long time VO actor, and most importantly voice of Xoti, has been harassed for what a character she played did in a game. Because, of course...
  9. Tried to find the tweet but, man, Josh tweets a lot. Still, good news.
  10. They should pour more money into ship combat.... that would fix everything
  11. Also Cuphead is getting a netflix show and Disco Elysium is getting the TV show. The latter has Dimitri M Johnson involved, "a co-producer on the hit film adaptation of "Sonic the Hedgehog"....
  12. Outer Worlds in the New Fallout. That's as close as we can hope to get I am afraid. Obsidian isn't independent anymore. Even if Bethesda would be interested in hiring 3rd party studios (which they weren't interested in for a while now) I don't think Microsoft would be interested in working for another's company IP. And that's assuming Obsidian would be up to another Fallout project after what happened with New Vegas metacritic bonus.
  13. Interesting. I wonder, if there is something fudamentaly easier (or/and cheaper) about 1st person perspective. For melee combat I generally prefer Third person view.
  14. Well, I don't remember cursed infantry being a thing, and when Sawyer says "historical" I assume he means historical. There is also the boob armor. I don't think that's very Sawyer-like. The whole thing has very fantasy feel to it. I dig it though. Action RPG with Dark Souls inspired combat? Set character (Sera seems to be the [or a] protagonist)? Since I played Dark Souls I have been wanting a Gothic game but with Dark Souls combat... one can dream....
  15. Who knows what project those are for but it doesn't look like PoE and certainly not like Tyranny https://www.artstation.com/cmatchett
  16. I don't know if it was mentioned, but some interesting art coming from Craig Matchett:https://www.artstation.com/cmatchett
  17. Wrong thread
  18. So games are weird, because I find how game controls and animations to be very much within "beautiful" presentation. So for example Owlboy which looks and animated beautifully but controls like piss doesn't work for me. Same with Cuphead which I liked to took at, but didn't particulalry feel great to control. As such screenshots don't mean much, as how game moves and responds to imputs is rather important. So: Rayman Legends Anything Supergiant Trines Bayonetta Disco Elysium Darkest Dungeon Dishonored Firewatch Hollow Knight Shovel Knight Ori (duh) Civ 5 Journey Dark Souls Elite Dangerous Homeworlds Limbo/Inside Valkyria Chronicles Little Nightmares Prince of Persia (1989), Another World (1991) and Flashback (1992)
  19. New videos of Empire of Sin. The second one dives a bit more into wars between gangs.
  20. Allegations of harassment in gaming companies continue. Two Ubisoft Executives placed on leave. Links found thanks to Jim Sterling's video on the matter.
  21. Biomutant still exists!
  22. No really. Just seems like they didn’t have any direct contributions anyway:
