  1. That all sounds great, at least on paper. Looking at specs it seems a bit high for me, but I might give it a go once I finally deal with Pathfinder and see how it runs.
  2. Desire to make PoE into Skyrim-like isn't new, though I was worried that PoE2 poor performance killed Obsidian's drive to nurish the IP. https://www.pcgamer.com/obsidian-ceo-id-love-to-turn-eternity-into-more-like-a-skyrim-product/
  3. I can't say I see a point of a class system in an FPS (read: not team based) RPG. The very point of classes is to limited what individual character can do, and force cooperation... EDIT1: Looking at the trailer I wouldn't be surprised if our role wouldn't be to some extend defined - it's very much seems we are dedicated to Woedica.
  4. That's one of the games I didnt' get around to, yet, though it's sitting in my library. I hear it had performance issues, so I am worried I won't be able to run it. But then again, I seem to be able to run far more, then I think I can. My guess would be pre... It is not called PoE3, so I would be surprised if they would continue PoE2 storyline in Avowed. The vibe I get is that Woedica is still very much in power. I would love to see Eora when Titans were roaming the earth, though I don't expect it to go that far. EDIT: Perhaps, it is the story of her fall? Seems like we are dedicated to Woedica and other gods making an aggressive take over might be a good excuse for us to have lots of things to fight against. It might also fit the narration... and if popular, it might Act as a good lead up to PoE1.
  5. Not for a melee combat, that's for sure. The only FPS melee person I played that wasn't bad, was Arcanum stuff - mainly thinking of Messiah of Might&Magic.
  6. Forests and Woedica related flags would strongly suggest it. The question is when. After PoE2? Before Woedica's fall from power? Time of Titans?
  7. More coming. Excellent. Looking forward to picking it all up once it's out on steam or gog Edit: If it weren't confusing enough
  8. I wonder if similarity between arrow and DS bonfires are purely cosmetic, or suggest some bonfire mechanic:
  9. Yakuza: Like a Dragon english dub trailer
  10. Yes, guns in M1 had lots of recoil and controlling Tommygun took some serious aim correction. This looks like a standard covershooter, however health doesn't seem to regenerate? That's something at least. Expected - M1 didn't play well on consoles from what I hear. Too bad I liked it's gameplay on PC more then M2. Something I am positively surprised by is language. Mafia1 has a PG writing and was clearly not authentic, which I felt gave it a more charm and allowed to get away with a lot silly things. M2 went for more authentic Scorsese feel, and IMO only underlined how poor it's story and characters were compared to films that inspired it.
  11. I finally picked up Styx2. Really really liking it so far. I had mixed feelings about Styx1. Controlls were a bit iffy and it run out of steam rather quickly. Unlike S1, I am playing S2 with a controller, which might be why it plays so much better - S1 had a definite console port feel to it and felt clunky and unprecise with M&K. We shall see if S2 will manage to stay fun all the way through. So far, it's been a blast though.
  12. It's started as brilliant "E3" parody. I am not quite sure what it is now.
  13. I finally got around to playing Bloodstained. Never played original Castelvania (or rather picked SoN when it came out on iPad, played it a bit and kinda forgot about it... because it's on ipad. Positive impression though, especially for such an old game). I had mixed enjoyment from various Metroidvania. I am nearing the end, and I don't think I like it. As far as world construction it's fine - quick travel rooms are well spaced out, and visually each biom is distinct with some real standouts every once in a while. It doesn't have a cohesion of something like "Hollow Knight" which unfortunately means I don't really remember the layout as much as I should after so many backtracks. However, for me the best metroidvanias have expended player repertoire as time went buy - new abilities not only acted as keys to new areas but also make platforming and combat more complex and interesting. But in Bloodstained things stay how it started. Sure there is a staggering amount of weapons and shards, with different stats but nothing so far felt different. Special moves - I don't find much use for those so far. And grinding. Sidequests are horrible. Crafting and cooking is annoying. And I am now at the end game with couple optional bosses and final boss to beat. It does the japanese thing - game up to the point was a walk in the part, with little to no effort required of me, but the side boss I tried to tackle is so much more deadly then anything else the game had to offer (and not in an interesting way). Running around and griding for items to built end game gear is just so very boring. Yhh... I might just wrap it up and leave the side content be. Though I am so close to finally feed the demented grandma who: 1) can't remember she just ate like 10 times in the row 2) is very picky 3) can't express what she wants. Mediocare platformer and a bad RPG systems. I give it 10/10 nostalgia googles. EDIT1: Ha! "Just" 2 hours of griding with a wiki open, and things became trivial once again. Bosses beat, game finished. Not a fan. EDIT2: Speaking of Dark Souls. I started playing DS3, at least for now. I can't run it as well as I wish I could which already was a bit of a problem in one fight. It's seems like a nice return to form after the disappointment that was DS2.
  14. I answered both your questions on the other thread you made on exactly the same subject. Please, read one before repeating yourself. Having a character model and making the game playable in 3rd person are two different things. It's not just the case of moving the camera to a different place - it's would take a big amount of work to impliment it, and it seems more then Obsidian could spent for this game. It is that way, because team working on OW1 is still farily modest for that kind of projects and it's the first game in the series. Making new game from scratch takes far more work then making the sequel. It's possible that in OW2, they will be able to accomodate it. OW doesn't have official mod support. Even so, people can create simple mods for it, it seems. Nature of PC gaming. Consoles can't do it, because they are consoles. It's closed and controlled enviroment. It comes with its boons, but in the end consoles are consoles and PCs are PCs - it's less flexible experience. Also if you want **** there are better ways to find those then Outer Worlds mods.
  15. Feargus said previously he would like Skyrim-like set in Eora, so that's assumption is not a crazy one, even if it could be a bit outdated. Personally, I am not sure if Eora is a good universe for franchising. It's mythology, arcane and history are a bit too heavy and too deeply tied to a conflict central to PoE1&2. I don't think one can make a spinoff without making it odd for new comers or going against what made some players like the setting in the first place. PoE2 also proved that the IP isn't a reliable money-maker. Still, how long was this project in development and would PoE2 poor financial performance have any effect on it? Still, Obsidian's finest work came from odd projects. Perhaps, a challenge of adapting PoE into big budget, accesible Skyrim-like would result in something to remember for years. Whatever they are cooking I am interested in seeing it.
  16. Devs are aware of the demand for 3rd person view, as well as modding support and other popular requests. However, with Outer Worlds being first game in the series and a game built on a modest budget some compromises had to be made. Apparenty, doing 3rd person view would take a significant amount of resources and OW was made with First Person View only.
  17. Yeah, I remember playing it on launch. As far as action-RPG I thought it was rather excellent at the time. Too bad content weren’t interesting. Did first big area and never came back to the game. MMO roots are very much present.
  18. That’s not true, especially later in the game once you have more characters to play with. I played through desp1 multiple times, and with every time I do things differently. it is, however, vague on how things works - enemy cone of sight and gun damage are never properly explained, and stuff like range and detection speed vary level to level. Stuff like noisy surfaces aren’t well highlighted. As such it will include a lot of failure, with no real fault of the player. Desp3 is much more clear and consistent, which means player has all they need to success. It does have puzzle like quality to it, but there are no encouraged solutions outside tutorial bits. Doing right now no save runs, and they are quite fun as they encourage more careful approach.
  19. Well, but it is for something alright.
  20. Well, that was fun. I am ready for more. Gimme DLC levels!
