TSL Story From a Writers Perspective
jedipodo replied to Master Dahvernas's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
@Topic starter Your three points are rather a question of individual taste than "general flaws in this story's logic that shouldn't be there, but the player is forced to just "overlook" in order to play the game and that should never be the case in any form of narrative entertainment in my opinion(.....)" -
Chris Avellone has said somewhere (I don't know whether it was an interview or here on the boards) that they won't tell what they have cut out for the reason that the stuff could be reused in future. (Maybe a hint for OE developing Kotor3...?)

say it aint so, feargus

Haven't the NWN2 forums already been outsourced to Bioware? I suppose they want to close this forum down because they got way too expensive. The release of Kotor2 and the ensuing run on this forums by fans and complainers has caused the trouble. -
The List of Continuity Mistakes
jedipodo replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Isn't it a continuity mistake that a "true" Sith Empire exists during the time of Kotor2? And here I don't think of the legend, that it has been totally smashed in the Hyperspace War, but rather of the story of Exar Kun and Ulic QuelDroma. These two guys had been declared as the last Sith Lords by the ghosts of the former great Sith Lord Marka Ragnos and others. As the heirs of the Sith idea they should reestablish the old glory of the Sith and restore the Sith Empire (not to mention here that they failed). And there is the problem. I think it is implausible that these ghosts shouldn't have known about an already existing Sith Empire, because time and space is not a bound for a Sith ghost like Ragnos or the one who persued Kun. And please don't say, that they simply weren't saying Kun the truth... -
In effect, the alignment system of Kotor2 as it is can't handle neutral characters. For example, a PC playing the "Jolee style" would be stuck in passivity. On the other hand, imagine how many cruel acts you can do, then outweigh this by some very good deeds and just keep being *neutral*? So neutrality is not a real option in Kotor1/2.

Since Aurora is trying to put togther a mod team to reimplement the cut content, maybe Obsidian could officially support the mod with info, dev notes, maybe software tools, etc.? It seems like a good idea to me. What would you say, Aurora, this is your project, in a large part, so your input (assuming Obsidian would/could go along with something like this) would be appreciated. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are they actually allowed to do this? Isn't the software a property of Bioware?
-
Lucas Arts will never produce a Star Wars game about force users *AND* the option of neutral career stages, because of the simple reason that such a game wouldn't be SW compliant anymore. It sounds weird, but it's a fact.
-
This happened all the time. I hope the patch corrects this, because it is the most annoying (and I think the most simple to correct) bug of the game.
-
But, in contrast to the Jedi, the Sith destroy beautiful things and don't care. I think that if a force user's attitude is anti-life and pro-death their living body functions will certainly suffer from that.

Why the hell I must be wimpy to get LSP?

Who built the Trayus Academy?

ha-ha-ha. Okay, to be honest, I have read it a little bit too fast... -
Who built the Trayus Academy?

I don't want to be fussy, but: -
Nice idea. I think a good task for the developers of Kotor3 will be to quantify the strength of this technique. The original Sith Lords didn't use this draining power once in TOTJ. Though you could call it a super weapon if you consider the damage Nihilus caused on Katarr. It seems that nobody - not even the toughest Jedi masters - could resist his force powers. Oh, and, the Exile was supposed to have the same ability, but did he study old Sith teachings...? This makes me believe that Nihilus' draining ability was born during the events on Malachor, and hasn't been ancient Sith knowledge. I'll stop now, because the more I think about it the more I hate this draining nonesense. "

The chronicles told that Revan met people of the Sith species on Malachor V. -
You have a point. But why do Kreia and (maybe) Revan see that great danger in this few remnants? Though the Sith Empire is history, it's most powerful leaders, the ancient Sith Lords, were killed or died in peace on Yavin/Onderon. I'm looking forward to Kotor3 to see who is even worse for the galaxy than Revan, Ragnos, Kressh, Kun, Malak, Kreia, Sion, Nihilus, etc...? Perhaps Palpatine, so we can say: Now the circle is complete.
-
That is true for the movies. But in Kotor2, I think, it's a little bit different. Jedi : (don't exist) Midiclorians : (don't exist) Force : broken Piano "True Sith" : Pianist
-
Vrook wasn't that hostile to me. Are you oversensitive?
-
To be honest, the idea of the threat of the "True Sith" isn't very plausible if you look at the recent history of the "True Sith" (narrated by the "Tales Of The Jedi" series). The so-called "True Sith" were primitive people. The last survivors of the original Sith Lords fled to Yavin and Onderon and spent their retirement years on this planets. They died as remorseless and barbarous "kings" and were buried by their subjects. That's the story. But I can be totally wrong, and Traya tells the truth. Goodness(GL) knows...
-
No, Rakata might be the first ones to use force, either Ligh or Dark, they propably are the ones who originally invented hyperspace travel etc. Sith are humanoid kind of race, as far as I know. They were twisted by ancient Dark Lords that came to their home planet. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, and the "Dark Lords" have been fallen Jedi going into exile.
-
Kreia tells you that Revan seeked advice from many teachers. Perhaps Kavar was one them.
-
This sounds like a proper solution to all of the contradictions. I think this would explain the motives of Revan much more believable than other theories I have heard so far. Edit: IIRC the chronicles tell that Revan met TRUE SITH on Malachor V and could barely resist the dark energies there.

Why didn't we get the option to scrap him after he reveals that he is the Exchange boss in person? I had have a bone to pick with him...

You should take a look into the "dialog.tlk" file in the main game directory. There you can find the contiguous story of the batte of Malachor and the events related to it. Searching for some key words in there and you will find it near the end of the file. Could someone be so nice and copy&paste it to this thread, because I don't have the English version? Edit: This is the whole story from which the texts of the loading screen are taken from.

question-more concerning movies then kotor2

The "good old" Expanded Universe has an answer to that problem. All of those clones will get strange names like "Luuke Skywalker" or "Joruu's C'Baoth" and are totally insane. -
What Did You Think Of The 4 Jedi Masters?
jedipodo replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I have to admit that I was disappointed of them, not only the mentioned ones, but also all of the Jedi Masters at this time. They seem to be weaklings, all of them. Though, of course, I respect that this weakness is a plot dependent necessity...
