A main bad guy (Darth Nihilus)

Talking to Nihilus was like talking to a dog. He barks and you answer. -
Theories about end of KOTOR2/start of KOTOR3
jedipodo replied to Matt7895's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I could be wrong, but think the Sith of KOTOR are not the true Sith. The real Sith are actually a race, which apparently are still alive in KOTOR's time. I think this is the Sith empire Kreia talked about. Later on in the timeline they are all dead, so maybe Revan and the Exile kill them all off. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why do they all fear the "original Sith" so much? In TOTJ they are very primitive people. I really hope that Revan and the Exile won't commit a massacre on this dumb natives just because Kreia told them to do so. -
What I got from the game is that the "companions will weaken you" theory has been definitely disproved by the plot. BTW Kreia was a chronic liar...

If that was the reason, then Lucasarts should pull out of the entertainment business. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> sarcasm on Wow, what a great idea, if they had only done that three years ago there would have never been a KotoR 1 or 2, and no whiny players to complain about it. What an excellent suggestion. sarcasm off irony on You got the point. That is exactly what Meshugger meant. His comment must be taken literally. irony off Obsidian had drafts for both happy and tragic endings depending on your ingame actions. What should be wrong with that?
-
Yes, I realized that too. Sometimes that was a little bit confusing. Especially Visas behavior and her comments made absolutely no sense (playing LS).

<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Try it with lower case "quote" tags.

*agrees*

Hehe, it could've been so easy... Why didn't he simply tested your Midichlorian value?
-
Isnt that the whole point of a storyline? to make the audience feel for the characters and to make the audience emotional in what ever way anger ? fear? happiness? sadness? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, of course. You don't have to tell that to *me*. But unfortunately most producers prefer not to take any risks...

The GOTO thing was lame. He simply wants to talk. But why at this high expense? Remember how difficult it was to have a talk with him.
-
Yes, but nevertheless he is a strange contemporary. He wanted to become a Jedi only because I let him take a look at some sensor device on Dantooine.

Why can't Kreia sense Sith assassins?
jedipodo replied to Lord Soviet's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Another question. Why did you have to fight your way through the academy at Malachor V killing all of them? IIRC Kreia's order was that they should be polite to you. On the entrance they even celebrated a welcome party... -
I think that LA decided to cut the ending, because they got cold feet. Imagine all of the beta testers crying... They feared that too many (happy end spoiled) players would turn into emotional wreckages.
-
Kreia herself wasn't sure about the severity of the force bond. She said it is possible that it might kill the other, but she is not willing to try it out.

I think the most interesting question is "why?". Dear developers, we have yet to be given a reason for this "disaster". Haven't the devs always lured us with statements like "Bad things will happen to good people"? I suppose that a "complete" version of KotOR2 indeed existed and was tested: Quote taken from an online game magazine: LucasArts tell us that various team members cried during testing, and not because of bugs. If it can reduce those developing it to emotional wrecks, just imagine what it could do to us. "emotional wrecks"? Is this the reason why they left the scenes out in the final version? And if you read what some reviewers have written about the influence system of the game ("influence with a character will especially be important at the end of the game, you will see", e.g.), you could come to the conclusion that this stuff has been in some early press releases.

Ridiculously easy even on Diffucult.
jedipodo replied to Ever-Flowing Incantation's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Oh come off it. That is such a lame arse excuse and you know it. A lot of us have been playing Bioware games since the days of Shattered Steel and there are some of us who have played games from Obsidian's roots since the days of the original Bard's Tale. I am not saying they should make games for only us veterens but they shouldn't go out of their way and insult our intelligence by making an overly easy game. I don't want to here, oh its for newbie causals. That is a load of bull. This is supposed to be KotOR 2. A lot of us have already played the first one and thusly have experience how the game plays. A sequal is supposed to be aimed at the peeps who played the first one and liked it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> IMO the difficulty of a game is determined by the skills and tricks you are learning during playing, being a Bio-veteran or not. Knowing the exact game mechanics of KotOR and being able to do fights blindfolded makes you feel "easy going". You don't make any mistakes, your character is balanced perfectly, your weapon is upgraded as hell and, of course, you took only the most useful force powers. But indeed, the absense of a level cap is not excusable... -
Continuity mistake with Mandalore
jedipodo replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Canderous said that he was the second man (or something like that) under Mandalore in the Mandalorian Wars. Perhaps he took his title after his leader's defeat. After some rivals rebelled against him and the killer droids were on his track he could've been stranded on Taris until Revan met him... And finally in TSL he reapeared as Mandalore. What if Canderous was the Mandalore whom HK-47 should kill? -

Keep in mind that you are all professional KotOR gamers. When you play KotOR1 again is this really a challenge anymore to anybody here? -
PC SUBJECT TO XBOX "LIMITATIONS"
jedipodo replied to vappour's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yes, it is true... smaller maps, less complexity, simpler game mechanics, etc. I don't know exactly, but hasn't the Xbox a total of 64MB RAM? If this is so this should be the explanation to your question. And concerning the overall performance you can assume that an average PC's graphics card has at least one XBox in it. -
Yes, I agree with you too. And I think it's just one more subjective opinion on the game. Wired: it's hard to consistently get a grip on what's important and really advancing the story. There is nothing bad about it I think. That sounds like real life (a little bit).

PC version more "polished"?
jedipodo replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
lol. Is this an offense? Well, everytime I read jedipodo I rather think of a load of bantha poodoo... But I must admit you are the one of us with more imagination. -
It's nothing new, but here is one of the latest PC previews. Why then, because of the ending...? *shock*
