Will it be like a locked thread or what? I am unable to get online monday and many days after that, it won't be then, replaced for a new one or something hopefully? If it is only up live for some time or something that would be extremely annoying. To keep this not entirely off-topic: *Query: What does Feargus think of the many Diablo2 clones like Dungeon Siege and Titanquest and will OE actually tries to do one sometimes too or do we primarily get story-focused RPG's? And what about an sandbox type of RPG like Oblivion, or a first-personone like Bloodlines or Deus Ex?

No, Zherron is standing next to Khoonda's leader (lost name) except if you replaced him with Berrun (but then he once again stands there when you can alter the turrets) -

My LSF Revan sliced her into pieces. She really deserved it

Kane is back. In the year 2047 he launches a nuke towards the GDI spacestation Philadephia. After the impact of the pieces on earth Kane sends his Black Hand Shock Troopers to cause chaos and destroy the GDI. He almost succeeds and the GDI is severly weakened. The GDI campaign is about you collecting the few remaining GDI troopers and crushing the gigantic power of the NOD. C&C3 will include 3 campaings, aformentioned GDI, NOD and an unannounced one. In the GDI one you will (like mentioned) crush the NOD and capture (NOT kill) Kane. In the NOD campaign you have to follow the orders of Kane to make his (unknown) masterplan come true. About the 3rd campaign is only known the team you control will be very dependant on Tiberium and wants the world covered with it entirely. Campaignmap: The campaignmap will be different from previous C&C. It will be seperated into several differently coloured areas. Blue are areas with almost no Tiberium-affection. These contain the last GDI-bases and 20% of the worldpopulation. About 30% of the worldmap is blue. The yellow zones (who occupy about 50% of the map) had several tiberium wars and know a relatively high grade of Tiberium infection. 80% of the world-population lives in these areas in poorness. These yellow areas contain alot of NOD bases. Red areas are completely covered in Tiberium and uninhabitable. These areas have frequent heavy Ion Storms. These areas are very valuable (despite the danger). GDI wants to remove all Tiberium from earth, yet they still need it to finance there war. NOD instead is religiously worshipping Tiberium and believes the stuff will evolve the human race into the next ladder of evolution... The gameplay is described as "Fast, Fluid and Fun". C&C3's returns to the mood set in C&C and not that of Tiberium Sun. Units like the "GDI Orca, GDI Mammoth Tank, NOD Stealth Tank, NOD Flame Tank and the Commando" will return. Even if they return to C&C's mood Tiberium Sun like Mechs will be included. Advanched TS units like the Cyborg and Banshee will be scrapped or heavily modified. Units of the GDI: Rifleman, Missile Troopers, Grenadiers, Commando (with stealth and ability to blow every building in one shot), Zone Trooper (no damage from Tiberium). If these units are inside an APC they will shoot from openings of the APC. The infantry of C&C3 can occupy buildings and shoot from it. Also taking over neutral buildings for bonusses like in RA2 will return. Other units include Fast Buggy, MRLS, The Ridge (mobile repair-unit) and Medic. Units in C&C3 (like RA2) will get experience, and thus improvements if surviving alot of combat. In C&C3 there will be more "unit upgrades" than special abilities. This will allow you to see right away with what kind of enemy you are dealing with. Like in Generals you will see alterations done to units and you can improve units with bonusses without altering the properties (function) of said unit. Some new elements in C&C3 include Mobile Bases, Weathersystems and the mixing of 2 units to a totally new unit (more info on all 3 further down) The Mobile Base one is only available to the new third fraction... This third fraction will have one big moving fort, and all the building will be attached to it or other parts of the construction. This entire "base" will be movable. You can also use this "base" as assault unit due to defensive turrets (who will not be used so defensive ). You can control Ion Storms. You can use this to harm enemies, but also to heal friendlies, as some units heal while being in an Ion Storm. The combining of 2 units into a new one will be primarily for the third fraction, but also GDI and NOD can combine some units with each other. For example you can combine a tank and scoutplane to have an quite aggresive aircraft or you can combine a NOD stealth tank with another unit giving him Stealth too. The creators of C&C loved the combo Ghost/Nuclear Strike in Starcraft and will implent a similar system of units that can help each other in C&C3. For example: a GDI spotter can designate the location for a Orca Strike. C&C is NOT Tiberian Twilight (which is put on Hold) and is designed by EA:LA (makers of RA2, Generals and both Battle for Middle Earths). C&C3 uses an (heavily) upgraded version of the engine used for BFME2. THE FMV-SEQUENCES WILL RETURN (w00t) It is unknown if the original Kane actor will return, but it is already certain EVA will return. C&C3 MP has support for VoIP and several of the well-known multiplayer types. Skirmishes will allow you to set specific AI scripts for training like "rush, turtle" etc. C&C will be in stores *somewhere* in 2007

Who knows what PNJ is? And if somebody says "No sequel!" it is based on an existing license, and Vampire:Bloodlines and Vampire: The Masquerade were different too (no sequel) and OE could make another Vampire game that won't be an "exact" sequel [/specualation based on Metadigitals post]

NOTE: This post is SPECULATION upon the fact is was 30-40 hours before and now 20 hours because of unknown cutting... Even if they cut alot, did they cut 33%.... don't think so. And cutting will be used ALWAYS, but it is not often because of "no time" when there is 6 months left or because "10 hours is too many for gamers to play through so we need to dump it" or whatever other reason that makes no sense. It happens to make sure parts get away that slow down the pace (but 33% ) or make absolutely no sense, or the parts that may spoil the exiting parts plot too soon, but this... No, because during this "bouncing" you can still work and progress on other fronts while if you first have to finish this more time (and thus money) loss will be experienced... And you still didn't get the point across that you can DOWNGRADE a toolset too if it malfunctions... "there is no point loading it up with an old toolset"; well it does if that old toolset replaces the newer due to the fact it corrupts the made data... Yes. Vampire was finished according to Troika. But we all know they are very bad in making stable games, don't we? Because it could allow hackers to take complete control of the user's PC? Download a "patch" or "mod" of a hacker who knew the source and misused it to make malifide content and you might find yourself hacked. Main reason #1 for Valve to fix it; they really don't wan't all there users to find their PC's hacked after playing their game. Repeating your point: "If there is 40 hours game the testers may find 80% of the bugs, while with a 20 hours game they might find 95%". Notice that there is only FIND and not FIXED? Ofcourse programmers are needed to fix bugs, but hell, they could also take them away from PNJ or PG temporary if they find themselves with alot of bugs. Also any additional tester will not find the exact same amount as the previous would, since even if the # of testers increases the amount of bugs does not... If one tester has the possibility to find 50 bugs in the code (because there are 50 in the code) putting another tester on that code does not wield 2x50 (since there are 50 in the code). It helps find them faster/more efficient, but won't make more bugs... If there are 1000 bugs in a game left and you release 2000 QA testers on it to find those 1000 there won't be more to fix for the devs than if 5 QA testers find those 1000 Priority. If there is a heavy crashbug don't you think they fix that one before some minor graphical glitch. Maybe the glitch is part of a larger issue (like an entire shader) and thus gets not fixed individually but with the whole package? Not what I said. If you wan't to save yourself cash by saving 10 hours of the game wouldn't you just NOT make the content instead of scraping it? If it is already made what would be more WASTE OF MONEY... adding some extra cash (minor to the already spend cash) to make the content includable (thus no waste of the already spend cash), or by just scrapping it, making all of it go to waste? Ofcourse it costs some additional cash, but you actually save ALOT of other spend money with it. Ctrl C and Ctrl V to action (or just scroll up): "If there is 40 hours game the testers may find 80% of the bugs, while with a 20 hours game they might find 95%". If there are 1000 bugs in a game left and you release 2000 QA testers on it to find those 1000 there won't be more to fix for the devs than if 5 QA testers find those 1000 He IS at QA, so that would make it Step 4. If the QA is already laid of work because Devs are fixing stuff it woul indeed not be wise as to hire more QA as to give these Devs already more work since the QA is already inactive at times. In that case it would be wiser to add some more Devs who do not have to be hired, since there are 2 other teams at OE where you probably can quickly steal a dev from that is inactive at that moment for that project. Since QA is likely not spread between the 3 teams adding needs additional man-power, but then thus also helps improving the other projects, not only NWN2 (against some additional costs) and you could let them get hired to test some other games for other companies if you *really* don't need alot of testers at the moment... (atleast I think...)

April 28th... will get the mag today, and will give an update after reading... Can't post scans since that is not allowed by forum regulations (asking to be allowed to circumvent that one in this post " Pretty please? )

Yeah, but with a non-existant dev that will become very difficult to get...

You can only alter the turrets (positively) after talking to Zherron about setting up the defenses. Have you done that yet? -

Dialing.TLK? Are you sure it doesn't say DIALOG.TLK? If so check if you haven't gotten an altered dialog.tlk or if the mod you try is for an other version than your Kotor2 version (1.0a and 1.0b alter the TLK if I recall correct) -

Look; a Intel 915... did you update to 1.0B? It should fix an issue retail has with this particular card... -
Actually you can see Bastila when Revan is female. DSF that is. LSF had a little cuttingparty on the SF

Isn't the first time and won't be the last time patches add stuff... I love it... Especially if it is big stuff like an entire engine update for the whole game or so...

Best thing is not to rely on the Soul Spell but enchant one of your weapons with the Soul Trap spell... Now you just need to have those stones...

In this the factory has not yet produced goods. If the factory did (if the gamedesigners have 10 hours of game) why would you not try to sell it, yet just throw it away? If you manufactured a 1000 shoes and they don't sell, do you lower prices or burn them all down? Which is why Backups are made so there can be reverted may something go wrong... Because Vampire was finished and not actually altered way before HL2's release, where code was changed due to the leak? Like you already mentioned at the tools editing if you alter something it may cause problems if done wrong. I don't know what was altered, but I doubt they kept using the same dangerous leaked code... (but didn't get an other version) But who says they are needed? The problem (according to you) was the QA not finding them, not the fact that fixing them may cost some time. There was never the factor "devs did not have time enough to fix" but "longer game made it harder to find the bugs for said devs". Because it would not be noticed? " Or maybe because it was up for fixture but not yet fixed (and no longer on the list) by the time the tester got used to it... Agreeding here... (and I still wan't to mention that a bug may not have to be a change... if you play through a gamemap 50x the bug may always be present, but you only "spotted" it on a certain occassion)

Care to elaborate what "didn't help"?
