  1. That's not true at all. Two different antagonists don't require 2 distinct different paths. Especially if we use Gromnir's model.
  2. That is the motivation for the people on the ScriptEase project.
  3. Complete with an irrelevant quote!
  4. All it is is a stripped down pc. It even uses a version of windows as it's OS. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So did the Dreamcast.
  5. Wow! It turns out they aren't the anti-christ! Shocker... The thing I always hated was when people would judge the conservatives based on what they might do (which was brought to our attention during the various smear-campaigns that the other parties like to run). I'd much rather take my chances with a new government maybe doing bad stuff, rather than keep the current government that is doing bad stuff. As for Winter....we've had a sweet winter temperature wise here in Edmonton. I haven't had to walk to school in any -35 days. The last two years there was a week where we had that. It's frequently been above zero actually.
  6. But remember that Ultima VII (both parts) had in-depth NPCs with interesting backstories and solid character interaction nearly half a decade earlier. Good character interaction wasn't some new concept when time BG1 came around. But there was a 5 year gap between both games. By the time BG came out, many had considered the CRPG market to be kaput. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if Baldur's Gate was a bigger seller than Ultima, if for no other reason than Personal Computers were more popular (and much easier to game on than the Ultima VII days). Like I said...I think that that standard had faded by the time BG came out. It's like all the high society stuff that the Greeks and Romans had, before the Dark Ages when everything was pretty much worse. The fact that it was a company's second game ever is pretty impressive too. I big part of my buying Ultima VII is because I had tried Ultima VI (my first Ultima experience) and enjoyed it. I didn't have anything to give additional motivation for Baldur's Gate.
  7. It's not uncommon for the alternate endings that a prequel presents to be discarded for a sequel, and to have one of the multiple endings used as a basis for a sequel. Examples would be Fallout 1, where among multiple endings only one - saving the wasteland - is taken as a basis for Fallout 2; and Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, where at the last sequence Kain can decide to sacrifice himself to restore the pillars or rule Nosgoth as a Vampire Lord - <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think because, in the developer's eyes anyways (and mine too), joining the Master is not successfully completing the game. The fact that you don't see anything afterwards leads me to believe that you are a not the same person after being dipped in the vat. I think it's as much of an ending to the game as simply dying is.
  8. I have mixed feelings about this, but have also though the same way. On the one hand, I like it because it stops people from suddenly doing the odd "so obviously evil/good" thing to get the better reward type stuff. But on the other hand, it makes things a bit less versatile. My first playthrough of KOTOR had me being a pretty nice guy, and trying my best to be a good Jedi. But there were times when, because of my rushed training, I would pick "bad" things, trying to justify them as being for the greater good (the odd exploitation of people type stuff). And when I went to Korriban, I knew I had to embrace the Sith ways otherwise I'd get detected. I felt I was strong enough to keep up the facade. But the seed of taint had been planted. When I went to Manaan, Bastila was gone (4th planet), so I lost my primary guide for staying true to the lightside. And when I was finally alone without any party members, the guys that tried to kill me underwater made me so angry that I killed them! When I returned to the surface....I was not the same person that I was when I went down. It was cool fun to RP like that :D
  9. Hmmm. I might give it another go. When in the game do you get this 'Spaz' then? Can you really kill those nasty head on legs thingies with just one shot? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Spaz is the automatic shotgun. I used it (and the Anaconda) in the sewers. Though now that I think about it, I typically used melee for those "heads on feet" guys, just because they move very fast. But I would just use blood buff to get my melee skill up. Whenever I could though, I'd try to snipe them with the anaconda. Those really creepy monsters with the split open stomach that looks kinda of like a female head on top can be killed with a single clip by the Spaz though, provided you are careful enough to make sure you get solid shots in. The guys that shoot the wierd ooze that slows you down fall prey to the anaconda, as I shoot them while strafing back and forth to avoid their projectiles. By the end of the game, firearms I find is pretty damn funny. Level 10 firearms with the Killmatic (the uzi) means no recoil and number spamming for the damage. You can also fan the Anaconda with near perfect accuracy too, while running around jumping and whooping and hollering.
  10. It may only be in the game so that those of us with no combat skills can make it to the end. I did once try a character who relied entirely on firearms, not melee, but it just didn't work out. Is it possible to do this all the way to the end? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you have really high firearms skill, you shouldn't have much trouble at the end of the game (or at all really IMO). I actually find the firearms build much more diffcult at the beginning of the game, when the only real gun you have is the craptacular .38. Once I get the Spaz though, I don't really need to look back. I would usually use the Steyr AUG against Vamps as it had higher lethality, and the killmatic for everything else. During parts when I knew I wouldn't be facing many guys at once, I would use the Desert Eagle (the McKlusky) on vampires, and the Glock (the Brock) on humans. With level 10 firearms pretty much every gun is perfectly accurate. Oh, and if you have the Jaime Sue, if you zoom in with it you do insane damage. You can kill pretty much anything in a single shot.
  11. Blizzard just released a new patch for Starcraft.
  12. To be fair to Baldur's Gate, no one really expected those things in that time, which is why we all have fond memories of it. To criticize Baldur's Gate in comparison to today's games is silly in my opinion. It SHOULD be worse. However, I don't think it's as bad (today) as it really should be.
  13. In the description for the uber-katana you find in the hotel, it says it's twice as fast. I didn't time it officially, but it does seem faster.
  14. whoa there tiger. Try to be a bit more careful with the keyboard. It was hard to decipher this: I think it would be neat to have more than one student, but I think they could make the whole master-apprentice relationship that much more fulfilling if they kept it narrow to 1-on-1. Quality over quantity.

You base your views on Belfour based on the one statistic that's entirely out of Belfour's hands..? Because that one statistic is very reflective of the garbage defense that is in front of him. If the other team has more opportunities to score, they probably will score more. First off, I'm not saying Belfour is a great goalie anymore. Second, Olaf Kolzig is also a pretty good goalie in his own right. Finally, you said that Belfour can't steal games, when I pointed out he did have a 53 save game, that resulted in a win. Furthermore, the GAA is not all up to the goalie. If a goalie faces 50 shots per game versus 20 shots per game, if his name is not Roberto Luongo then he is probabl going to have a worse GAA. Finally, even save percentage is not all up to the goalie. If guys give up 50 breakaways, there's a good chance the goalie isn't going to have a very good save percentage. It's like the hore**** you were spewing forth blaming Belfour for the big loss last playoffs. Even though it was crap give aways and horrid defense that gave up breakaways and odd man rushes galore. Washington is not as good of a team as Toronto, but I find that they do tend to be more careful with the puck as a result (which is natural ... In all sports the crappier teams are often more conservative as it's their only real way to have a chance at winning). And to put the stamp on it, Olaf Kolzig does NOT have a better GAA average than Belfour anyways! I guess being in Sweden you aren't given the opportunity to actually watch the games. If you seriously think that Belfour's 30 shots per game are of the same type as Hasek's, then you are a fool. Besides, I can just as easily go and point out that Kolzig is only .010 higher in the save percentage. And Hasek is only 4% higher. 4 more goals against per 100 shots. If 2 shots per game doesn't make a difference, then 4% save percentage doesn't either. Never mind the fact that he's been the poor bastard that had to go up against the Senators, when they would run up the score and make his stats explode anyways. If you scratch the Ottawa games (which probably isn't that unreasonable, as your whole team plays like utter **** against them), his save percentage jumps up to above .900. Again, going on with the GAA. Marc-Andre Fleury is also a top goalie prospect that is finally coming into his own. He is supposed to be a good goalie, and probably should have started for the Pens all season. But since you have such a hard on for the GAA, lets look around a little bit. He has a very similar GAA to Thibault, Lalime, Raycroft (rookie of the year!), Kolzig, Dipietro, Denis, Theodore, and Khabibulin. Belfour is not the only goalie that is struggling this season. It doesn't matter. He could stop 49 shots, or single handedly take a **** team past the first round in the playoffs. But you're too obtuse to notice. You talk as if I was expecting Belfour to be as good as Hasek.
  16. I have been sick of Weiser for quite some time. COntinue with the KOTOR suggestions
  17. Unless they get whacked so badly, that there's nothing to resurrect! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Depending on the game, you can always get a new NPC.
  18. An RTS would be too fast paced for him.

Because the team in front of him is stellar! He stopped 53 shots one game to get a win. If that's not stealing a game.... Looking at the rest of his stats, I see plenty of mid to high 30 shot games, and a 40 as well. The only player that has faced more shots than him, in as many games, is Olaf Kolzig. He's 5th in the league in shots against, compared with players like Kiprusoff and Luongo who will play many more games than Belfour.

Hehehe. I was referring to the censorship. My friend thinks that this recent acquiring of defensemen could still mean a trade is in the works.
  21. He thought he had a past. How much of it is constructed. Did he just get captured? Also, I said "KOTOR GAMES." But then you have the audacity to talk about reading comprehension.

Perhaps we should call him Richard Tarnstrom?
