  1. I love being manipulative. One of my most enjoyable things I've done as an evil player, was convince Zaalbar to lay the smack down on Mission. It was probably cool because I had never really seen anything like that in a video game before. Kind of like how the BG2 romances were super cool when I first played them, though romances in general I find rather bland now.
  2. It could also make redemption of a DS to LS more interesting as well. Though stuff like that is usually better implemented as games are very often more "heroic" so to speak. But even Visas would get upset at you for being unnecessarily nice.
  3. Yeah, that was dumb. Though kind of necessary, given the game is almost unplayable with a reputation of 1
  4. To be fair, I haven't played it for a long time either, so I'm probably about as confident that I had to fight him as you are that he just left. I do agree that the "resolution" of it was not handled properly.
  5. That was Marl or whatever in Beregost Inn wasn't it?
  6. Definitely. The influence system wasn't fully fleshed out, and the fact that their dialogues didn't really change was a letdown. I'm not too worried about plot specific dialogues changing, but I wouldn't want Mira chastizing me for being mean, when she has more DS points than I do.
  7. What can I say? I like choices too

I'm not saying overrated. Even then, people had him declared as the second coming. I'm happy that he's not running away with it, otherwise the preseason hoopla would have carried on.
  9. I had to fight him. Naturally. If your don't overlap with mine, then mine don't overlap with yours. So do I.
  10. Silent Hunter 3 is a great game, as are the Splinter Cell games. I don't base my purchasing decisions much on the previous history of a company.
  11. It depends. You aren't really under "time pressure" with Minsc, unless you decide to completely ignore finding Dynaheir. But it's not too transparent. I think we're just beating a dead horse though, as IMO it's clear your expectations of a video game do not coincide with mine (or Roleplayers it seems).
  12. I don't suppose it's hanging around somewhere on the CDs is it?
  13. It's not a "design" thing (I hope), but the basketball in N64's NBA In the Zone '98 acted as if it was filled with concrete. Loose balls would actually stop after 3 bounces. No rolling. But that's not really a design issue. One design issue I didn't like so much was Heart of Iron 2's map creation. Europe is GREAT, as is China. Plenty of provinces and fun to be had. But in many areas, provinces get too big, which results in long move times between provinces, as well as limits flanking opportunites.
  14. Doh! I thought you got it working and were able to play! Good luck then! :D
  15. His avatar and mine are quite similar, in their quantities of green. And it's not animated, which is why you won't mistake me for Hades.
  16. You could always just send the crippled Merc back to AIM. I wouldn't pay for someone that was no longer of use to me. IMO you should keep playing. It's fun trying to pull it out, even with your IMP, after a catastrophe like that. THe only reason for sticking to your guns about it IMO is if you're just looking to powergame through JA2. If I have anything else to say about it though, I'll take it to PMs
  17. I enjoyed Arcanum, even if my first playthrough ended in disaster because I tried being a generalist.

Lundqvist has played well. Though, unfortunately for him, he's been under the radar over here. I think I'm just happy that other rookies than Crosby are playing great. I was getting tired of hearing about "The Next One."
  19. I think you're confusing mkreku and myself.
  20. The make the gameworld more interesting as the significance of your decisions increases. If doing one quest means you can't do a different quest, then it's possible that game parts play out differently because of your decision. Imagine you go into a burning house, you can go into the left room and save someone, or go into the right room and get an item (or whatever..could be a different person to save). If you save the person, you get a friend, and perhaps ally/party member. But you can never get the item. You get the item, which could be quite powerful, but the person dies. Perhaps this person you save can help you out later on. Or even better, end up making your life a bit more miserable by working against you.
  21. I think that that is the point of the influence system. In that if you wanted to make a choice, you had to accept the consequences of not influencing someone.
  22. It's probably not using the discipline itself, but Ventrue can use Domination in dialogue, and Malkavians can use Dementation. Unless you don't have the enough points in them. I find that they tend to be much more reliable too, as just because you see that Intimidation Dialogue option, doesn't mean it is going to work. Plus the Dementation one in particular is very amusing.
