Your Top 10 NPC's of All Time!
Oh I used that. But the stealth let me walk around without making any noise while crouched. It's useful for when you are out of combat (and don't need a gajillion move points to move around). As an NPC, I liked Marcus. He was just too reckless with his minigun.

Oh probably. I think it'd be funny though, if he did have one and posted it, and then when this Elven dude went to use it, it was not available since he wasn't fast enough.

The 100% camo, all the time was a nice perk! Coupled with mad skills and just seemed to be perfect for the role. I had the stealth skill as well, which made things particularly fun as we'd attack foritified positions at night. Nothing nightgoggles and a laser scope can't take care of

Best of infinitity.
He's too busy letting them take off in spaceships so he can somehow sap their innate powers. Funny how he demands that a CRPG be held accountable and anything less than 100% rule following is not acceptable.

I loved Shadow. Hardcore to the bone. I'd have him single-handedly take out patrols in the night and no one would even know he was there, aside from the odd muzzle flash. By the time they went to where it was, he as long gone....shooting them in the back! :D

KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
I doubt that. They don't have a problem when people make mods in the Star Wars universe, with a different game! THere was a mod for Battlefield 1942 out called Galactic Conquest. Unlike a company like say, Fox (Interactive), they didn't go around shutting down a mod because it used their content. The only request Lucasarts made to the mod team was to not use licensed material like the John Williams music. They had zero problems with people making a game out of it....even though they don't get any money for it.

Yes, well you can blame all that on KotOR being based on the d20 RPG engine. I don't much like it either. Watering down lightsabers due to game balance while allowing rediculously powerful characters at high levels is an excellent example of the game mechanics in d20, and Star Wars really is just one example of this. I liked WEG's Star Wars game much better. But since KotOR games are based on it all, I guess we're stuck with it... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Only if you're a backwards thinker like Hades. If a better, more appropriate (and hopefully balanced) ruleset can be found (or created)...it should be used.- Well my intrest in NWN2 just tripled =)
What are you talking about? Timestop is easily the most balanced spell in existence "- Fallout 2 Query
I did find it hard to be evil to Sulik.- multiple possible antagonists
That's not true at all. Two different antagonists don't require 2 distinct different paths. Especially if we use Gromnir's model.- multiple possible antagonists
That is the motivation for the people on the ScriptEase project.- Bloodlines

All it is is a stripped down pc. It even uses a version of windows as it's OS. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So did the Dreamcast.- Canadian Election
Wow! It turns out they aren't the anti-christ! Shocker... The thing I always hated was when people would judge the conservatives based on what they might do (which was brought to our attention during the various smear-campaigns that the other parties like to run). I'd much rather take my chances with a new government maybe doing bad stuff, rather than keep the current government that is doing bad stuff. As for Winter....we've had a sweet winter temperature wise here in Edmonton. I haven't had to walk to school in any -35 days. The last two years there was a week where we had that. It's frequently been above zero actually.- Best of infinitity.
But remember that Ultima VII (both parts) had in-depth NPCs with interesting backstories and solid character interaction nearly half a decade earlier. Good character interaction wasn't some new concept when time BG1 came around. But there was a 5 year gap between both games. By the time BG came out, many had considered the CRPG market to be kaput. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if Baldur's Gate was a bigger seller than Ultima, if for no other reason than Personal Computers were more popular (and much easier to game on than the Ultima VII days). Like I said...I think that that standard had faded by the time BG came out. It's like all the high society stuff that the Greeks and Romans had, before the Dark Ages when everything was pretty much worse. The fact that it was a company's second game ever is pretty impressive too. I big part of my buying Ultima VII is because I had tried Ultima VI (my first Ultima experience) and enjoyed it. I didn't have anything to give additional motivation for Baldur's Gate.- KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
It's not uncommon for the alternate endings that a prequel presents to be discarded for a sequel, and to have one of the multiple endings used as a basis for a sequel. Examples would be Fallout 1, where among multiple endings only one - saving the wasteland - is taken as a basis for Fallout 2; and Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, where at the last sequence Kain can decide to sacrifice himself to restore the pillars or rule Nosgoth as a Vampire Lord - <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think because, in the developer's eyes anyways (and mine too), joining the Master is not successfully completing the game. The fact that you don't see anything afterwards leads me to believe that you are a not the same person after being dipped in the vat. I think it's as much of an ending to the game as simply dying is.- KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
I have mixed feelings about this, but have also though the same way. On the one hand, I like it because it stops people from suddenly doing the odd "so obviously evil/good" thing to get the better reward type stuff. But on the other hand, it makes things a bit less versatile. My first playthrough of KOTOR had me being a pretty nice guy, and trying my best to be a good Jedi. But there were times when, because of my rushed training, I would pick "bad" things, trying to justify them as being for the greater good (the odd exploitation of people type stuff). And when I went to Korriban, I knew I had to embrace the Sith ways otherwise I'd get detected. I felt I was strong enough to keep up the facade. But the seed of taint had been planted. When I went to Manaan, Bastila was gone (4th planet), so I lost my primary guide for staying true to the lightside. And when I was finally alone without any party members, the guys that tried to kill me underwater made me so angry that I killed them! When I returned to the surface....I was not the same person that I was when I went down. It was cool fun to RP like that :D- Bloodlines
Hmmm. I might give it another go. When in the game do you get this 'Spaz' then? Can you really kill those nasty head on legs thingies with just one shot? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Spaz is the automatic shotgun. I used it (and the Anaconda) in the sewers. Though now that I think about it, I typically used melee for those "heads on feet" guys, just because they move very fast. But I would just use blood buff to get my melee skill up. Whenever I could though, I'd try to snipe them with the anaconda. Those really creepy monsters with the split open stomach that looks kinda of like a female head on top can be killed with a single clip by the Spaz though, provided you are careful enough to make sure you get solid shots in. The guys that shoot the wierd ooze that slows you down fall prey to the anaconda, as I shoot them while strafing back and forth to avoid their projectiles. By the end of the game, firearms I find is pretty damn funny. Level 10 firearms with the Killmatic (the uzi) means no recoil and number spamming for the damage. You can also fan the Anaconda with near perfect accuracy too, while running around jumping and whooping and hollering.- Bloodlines
It may only be in the game so that those of us with no combat skills can make it to the end. I did once try a character who relied entirely on firearms, not melee, but it just didn't work out. Is it possible to do this all the way to the end? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you have really high firearms skill, you shouldn't have much trouble at the end of the game (or at all really IMO). I actually find the firearms build much more diffcult at the beginning of the game, when the only real gun you have is the craptacular .38. Once I get the Spaz though, I don't really need to look back. I would usually use the Steyr AUG against Vamps as it had higher lethality, and the killmatic for everything else. During parts when I knew I wouldn't be facing many guys at once, I would use the Desert Eagle (the McKlusky) on vampires, and the Glock (the Brock) on humans. With level 10 firearms pretty much every gun is perfectly accurate. Oh, and if you have the Jaime Sue, if you zoom in with it you do insane damage. You can kill pretty much anything in a single shot.- News on Starcraft 2???
Blizzard just released a new patch for Starcraft.- Best of infinitity.
To be fair to Baldur's Gate, no one really expected those things in that time, which is why we all have fond memories of it. To criticize Baldur's Gate in comparison to today's games is silly in my opinion. It SHOULD be worse. However, I don't think it's as bad (today) as it really should be. - KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
