  1. - 10 all defenses also stacks with specific debuffs like -25 fortitude from the morning star modal, so those spells are doubly valuable. One issue with priests, I think, is that so many of their key spells are concentrated into a few levels. Level 1 gets restore and suppress affliction and in addition, most subclasses free spell at level is quite good, like sun ray, touch of rot, arcane veil, etc. That makes it much harder to take and use something good, but less class defining, like halt, interdiction or barbs of condemnation. Level 4 is similar, with barring death’s door, devotions, triumph of the crusaders, circle of protection and shining beacon all on the same level and all of them are core aspects of the priest’s power. Level 7 then has minor avatar, cleansing flame and storm of holy fire, but multiclass priests only get 1 cast of a level 7 spell. Even for a single class priest, resurrection or shields for the faithful may look really good, but it’s hard to justify using one of your precious level 7 casts on one of them. By comparison, levels 2, 3 and 5 are much weaker. It’s very important for players to need to make choices and it shouldn’t be possible to get everything you want. But the priest spell list still feels pretty unbalanced with a fair number of early weak powers and too many important spells competing for very limited resources at the same levels. So much this, spot on! I hate that about priests, they have a few power lvls where all the good stuff compete for the very limited casts. I wish obsidian would shuffle them around a bit.
  2. What I feel martial singleclasses need is closer to a multiclassed resources. Resources is my biggest concern of singleclass martial classes and DoC BP makes it even worse. How much can a singleclass fighter do in one encounter? No way I'd ever play one as resource hungry as they are even on multiclasses, same goes for rogue and to a degree barbarian, barbarians high tier passives are so strong tho that the resource issue is less of an issue on them as a singleclass
  3. Yeah Sickened/weakened+morningstar is the way to go. If you are asking for Cipher disintegrate wich is what I am going to assume because of ur recent cipher thread I'd suggest bleakwalker+cipher with morningstar modal. One hit brings fortitude down by 35 points, with ur borrowed instinct that's an effective 55acc boost for disintegrate. Another great option is barb/cipher but that's going to be squisher and u would have to cast that sickened/frightened debuff wich I've inconveniently temporarily forgot the name of with the cipher to achieve the same result as a bleakwalkes FoD.
  4. My gog just updated Deadfire with a 182mb update, it says V 2.0.1.0044 now but i cant find any info anywhere about a new beta patch? Anyone know anything?
  5. It all depends on the situation and the targets defenses. Vs 2 targets mindblades is king, with high PL it bounces between them like crazy and it's really quick casting so u can cast another before the previous has even stopped bouncing. Also if I am not mistaken it targets deflection wich is great. Vs singletarget obviously Disintegrate, but since it targets fortitude it's harder to land on anything that matters. MindLance can look weak in comparison to a lot of other things, but it's a fast cast and it targets will wich ciphers have boosted acc against. When the place is crowding with enemies Amplified wave is amazing on an ascendant. I have way too little experience in soulblades to comment on them. But they couldn't possibly dish out the same kind of dps as an ascendant except Vs singletargets on a strong martial character. Boeroer has mentioned that soul annihilation can be made into an AoE with spirit Lance, that is probably very strong
  6. Rogue/x + hand mortar may be one of the stronger aoe debuffers and bleed builds in the game. My holy hand grenadier used street fighter and blunderbus modal to add some fast autoattacks and low recovery abilities to the mix. I really like the idea of a scout that loads up the bleeds. Driving flight + hand mortar + fire in the hole with bounce upgrade = screen full of enemies bleeding out. It's nice that all of the abilities in question are full attacks I actually wonder if one hand style may be stronger on PotD for the added accuracy. Scout should get a ton anyway, but it may be more reliable. Oh yes for sure it's super satisfying! I went singlehanded because I was soloing and could only get one mortar, but the added accuracy and hit to crit turned out to be very good for stunning surge.
  7. Haha well, it's something different from another Cyrus theory build thread to discuss (No offense Cyrus, ur awesome!)
  8. Scordios Trophy with modal is a strong one handed style weapon. Pukestabber is another one vs certain enemies. Last word hammer shuts down abilities for enemies on crits, great vs bosses. Concelhaut cries vs last word on a Berserker/Devoted or ranger/monk for example Handmortar one handed style with stunning surge work great as I showcase on "The Howitzer" build. Those are the ones I can think of right now
  9. Is it better than the AOE damage you can do with blunderbuss? If you went Bleak Walker / Rogue dual wielding blunderbuss, could you do even better damage but in AOE?There was a fextralife Fanatic bulid for dual-pistol BW/Barb abusing FoD recently - sort of interesting. But that's before I found out the blunderbuss lets you apply the Rogue extra damage (from blinds, etc.) in AOE. Presumably it would let you do that with FoD too. Unless the damage of Blunderbuss is so much lower than pistol it's not worth it. The Red Hand will do better single target damage on such a build in the example when you face a boss/dragon enemy. on most mob pulls though yeah best is to optionally use a scroll of avenging storm and then unload crippling/arerial strikes and FoD from the aoe hand mortars. Bonus points if a wizard puts combusting wounds on the group. If we are using scrolls of avenging storm, blunderbusses should be better then red hand vs bosses as well, singletarget blunders ofc.
  10. Yeah what Boeroer said, first island is the most difficult time you will have in this game unless u choose otherwise. Just stealth past it Skip the skeletons in digsite, really no reason to be messing with them.
  11. Strap on Nomads Brig for immunity to engagement and those new boots that leave hobbling frost wherever you run. Use blunderbusses Handmortar+kitchen stove and pull of eora scrolls in bigger fights. This is pretty much how I played my Howitzer except he was monk/rogue and more focused at making the Handmortar aoe as big as possible and chainstun grps of enemies with stunning surge. Healing vs ranged enemies can be problematic, in wich case there are some items with passive heals one could use.
  12. Creating a singleclass wizard, i will use TCS wich i will probably regret. Dancer Diana: Nature Godlike Mig: 18 con: 8 Dex: 16 Per: 17 Int: 16 Res: 3 Problem will be i cant heal... at all (except for certain leeches tho ofc) I can use a grimoire, right? O_o
  13. Oooohyes plz can we do that? Also what is ur take on drugs if one wants to play Nalpasca?
  14. I will be playing Streetfighter/Skaen death godlike. Ghostheart/magran is probably a very good choice. I've also considered Wael/Kind wayfarer Edit: Now I'm undecided again lol
  15. I will join in this challange and when I'm done I will provide a Montage video Don't know what to play yet, but I won't play chanter
  16. Yeah I really like riposte too, but I liked it better in the first game. However as it has already have been said it is a great passive ability for any high engagement tank. I still wish there was a proc chance on grazes
  17. another engagement with spear + modal or last word warhammer, Kapana Taga isnt really worth considering on potd because of its low pen of max 10. Last word hammer is quite nice because it gets 12 pen while other one handers get 11 pen. Best weapon for pen tho is the Spear u get from the kraken area, if u pump survival u get around 17pen with that beast + 1 engagement slot with the modal.
  18. Yeah Cipher/Priest cant really be considered one of the worst imo. Priests get Barring deaths door and Salvation of time wich is great with everything. A priest/ascendant death godlike while near death and ascended would'nt be bad at all. Also Borrowed Instincts is good for priest nukes. I would trade ciphers top tier abilities for Barring and Salvation of time, that is if u want to play a cipher. Because i wouldnt trade the last two power lvls of a priest for any cipher spells
  19. Nice, yeah this is why i used the summoning spell for imp spawning and only on chant skellie at the start to engage the enemies, because the invocation skellies stand still when u summon them but the chanted one goes charging right away. Also yes this gets old if one does it in every fight lol, i wish the AI behaviour tool would let us set up attacks on closest allies - if vessel - lowest deflection. It would have been perfect, but u can only choose "target enemy" when u select an attack =(
