No need to get all worked up. Balance because every game featuring combat and especially RPG games wich allows players to make tactical decisions need a certain lvl of challange to be interesting. Obsidian should either balance everything around players using x5 empowers each fight or they should rework how empower works because that's how strong empower currently is when used correctly. Personally I choose not to play wizards with empowered spells so it doesn't really bother me personally, I simply just agreed with points made by another poster and expressed that I personally prefered the system in the first game.

Yup, and even when other games in the same genre do well it doesn't necessarily hurt Deadfire. It might come as a surprise to some people, but I know at least two distinct individuals who own both Deadfire and DOS2 (one of them even likes Bethesda games but he's a silly billy). I'd have liked ur post if u werent refering to me as a "silly billy"

Does lashes use the same pen as the primary dmg source or how does lash vs AR work exactly?

No, not 100% sure. I just went by the description that says 20% of damage since that's usually the sign for "dumb DoT". It wasn't working like that in PoE (there high INT was beneficial). Maybe I should have tested it first and not make assumptions. No I wasn't pointing the assumption finger at u hehe, I was just sincerely wondering because I could just as well be wrong but I do believe I tested it when I made a 3 int vs a 19 int rogue test and came to the conclusion that the high int rogue was superior in every possible way

Wow.. Teclis u weren't the one who personally insulted anyone, he did. Probably unhappy with his life and flaming ppl over the Internet makes him feel big and strong. Just wow.. Never stops to amaze me how ppl behave when they are safe behind their monitor. -
Indeed, at first I was getting what seemed to be "deep wound nukes" with that staff. So I made it with a ranger to try it with wounding shot. This was only giving me tics around 2 dmg. Next time I tried it on rogue again I'd only get deep wound triggers for around 1-2 dmg on him as well. So it's definitely doing something but it was mostly not for the benefit

You can even multiclass pala with a stalker (+1ar, +5 def) or a unbroken (+1 ar when using a shield). As a pala go for hands of light ( +5 resolve, the +2 ar from hardy are suppressed by the next thing) and for a goldpact subclass for the +5(?) Ar from modified sworn enemy. For sure, pala/stalker is probably a great mix!
