Oh yeah? So things have changed between the two games. And since this build uses quite a few DoT effects (Blood Frenzy, Toxic Strike (I swapped over in the finalized version), Deep Wounds), it would be best to keep Intellect high... Too bad I can't have both, but I can't produce 10 extra attribute points out of nowhere without seriously hampering my Might, Perception, or Dexterity (Even more than I already have) or some combination thereof. To be sure I'll test this when I get home in about 2h, I'll let u know Alright. If it turns out that Int actually weakens DoT attacks, I'll probably go Resolve just because it fits thematically anyway... ok i just tested 2 identical rogues on lvl 11, one with 3 int and the other with 19 int, the rest was exactly the same. The high int rogue was insanely more effective with dots, the dmg of tics and the rate of tics was exactly the same on both but the high int rogue produced way more tics then the low int one. Also Toxic Strike was completely worthless on the low int rogue while it was a monster on the high int rogue. So, more dot tics and longer afflictions and also with how toxic strike works id say a smart rogue is a much more effective rogue.

Yeah that one is absolutely perfect with the cloak. Also one could multi with a chanter or stand near a chanter if one isn't soloing for the 13% dmg dealt to healing chant. 10% of the fire dmg hitting you will heal u and 13% of all dmg hitting the enemies will also heal u. Sadly no healing modifier will increase the healing you receive. I tried making a build as a chanter/wizard around this cloak and the chant and I stacked a whooping 150% healing mod on him and it did nothing, so mission failed

My favourite combusting caster is the sorcerer for wall of thorns + wicked briars + wall of flames. It's just so satisfying to melt enemies rather then nuking them :D

For two blunderbusses you need 20 arcana + food that give you +2 pen to spells, but I assume on DD you will still miss too much, because Avenging Storm target reflexesBut you can cast anything that lower enemies reflexes No I mean I wish there was a two handed blunderbuss in the game, like a rifle, a proper shotgun! :D

I don't know why but I much more prefer defensive setup :DI don't think that you really need berserkers, all their bonuses exist as potions alternative (at least for melee setup). For solo/duo marauder builds I usually pick no-subclass barbarian I never max int, because it cause rogue dots do less DPS and 15SEC for Frenzy is pretty enough Instead of INT I max Resolve Instead of MIG I put all points to Constituion So I usually try to stack as much as possible deflection +10 From Resolve + 7 (From Cloak of Greater deflection) + 10 from (Casità Samelia's Legacy ) + 8 Dagger Modal (Pukestabber) + 4 (2x ring of minor deflection) + 3 (From resolve Drug) + 10 (From Hylena Food for no-rest run) = 105 - 110 Deflection. Why ? Because this stop enemies to over-pen your armor with crits Fire godlike + Barbarian passive + Belt (Blunting Belt) + Potion of Shield will give you enough armor to survive in any fight without carrying about enemies DM As primary weapon I used Scordeo's Edge to make it stack enough accuracy Well, I planned on doing this build in a party, but I didn't know about Int behaving like that in regards to Rogue DoTs. I'd be worried about the duration on the Afflictions, though I suppose the PL scaling helps with that as well. Plus I do kind of like the idea of maxing Resolve, because playing a fearless character definitely appeals - though playing a smart one has a certain degree of appeal as well. I don't think that's correct, rogue dots tell u on description "will deal x dmg per 3sec over x time" int doesn't change the tic dmg like it did in the first game as far as I know, it will however make the dot stay on for longer or shorter so higher int means more tics, toxic strike especially will be gimped with a low Int score.

Yeah I'm playing a blackjacket/assassin right now who use a lot of those special gear skills and it's awesome with backstab and assassinate.

Isn't there a task u get from Nemnok to bring him specific grimoires and for each grimoire he let's u pick 1 thing from his treasures? Anyone know if there are specific skill checks to receive this quest?

I completely agree with the OP 100% and it has been my main point when I have been complaining about itemization wich has been so praised in a thread over at general section. All the interesting effects are either completely useless (magran axe for example) or just gated behind extreme RNG. There are a few exceptions tho such as Frostseeker. I also really like that we have quite a few weapons that can be enchanted with wounding, all is not bad, but a lot of em are. Also another thing that bothers me is that they still keep certain special weapon attack enchanments as 1-2 per rest while others are 1 per encounter. Why? Thunderous report and Run through, two of the most powerful singleattacks are 1 per encounter wich is great, while complete garbage like Red Tear for example are per rest abilities. What's the reasoning behind this? Why is Stormrune shot 1 per rest while the better AoE in thunderous report is 1 per encounter? I know the resting is completely irrelevant in this game, wich makes this even less understandable but it is still annoying because resting too often can screw with ones immersion. You either keep the resting system from PoE1 with their per rest abilities and u improve upon on it or u leave it in the past, dipping into both just makes both variants worse if u ask me. Even if u enjoy both mustard and chocolate doesn't mean they mix well together.

Yeah combustion wounds with a wall spell and the beams just melt enemies, personally I am a big fan of the raw dmg beam. There's a point where stacking AS becomes very underwhelming or however you put it. U could consider skipping DAOM for a different spell and use Squids Grasp in main hand for immunity to flanking and +20% AS when facing more then 2 enemies.
