R00fles! You're joking, right? Steam is one of the most controlling forms of DRM used and, frankly, something I would prefer to avoid if it wasn't needed for so many titles (I still buy my games on disc when I can, provided the DRM used on the physical version is not more horrendous than that used on digital copies).

I had a rough night with the girlfriend, not a fight and more dealing with her feeling like **** because of family pressure to break-up -they don't care for me/my family-, but we'll likely be ok. If nothing else we'll go back to being close friends (as we were before we were dating, and what, worst case, we both want to preserve if things don't work out).

I'm not seeing where he said he lacked a job, he simply said he did not go into the gaming industry.

r00fles! I'd suggest you stop talking about yourself when generalizing.

Only if they considered the people rebelling 'their own' - that's part of the domestic treats that people in the military swear to oppose, by force if needed, when asked to do so.

I got the girlfriend a few things and she got me a few things, fairly low-key but then neither of use are Christian (or anything for that matter). Still, Merry Christmas and, for those who watch the good Doctor, remember that today is also Whomas!

That's a fairly major assumption to make without presenting some evidence to back the claim up.

Sniper Elite V2 with tweaked settings.

If you like sniping it's very much worth it (and, if your hubby also likes that sort of thing, you might want to pick up two copies as it has great co-op support - the entire campaign can be co-op and there's also some extra co-op modes as well).

There is a mod floating around out there that adds some Neeshka flirt dialog options and a short scene at Crossroads Keep with her if you romance her. The modding community comes through, as usual. Wasn't that in the original game but cut from the final release?

Dead Island, hands down. The constant fetch-quest to feed your kid anti-zombie meds, or whatever she needed, is annoying as hell and really detracts from the game.

Could have been a good game, and was for the first bits, and shouldn't be lumped in with the rest.

I bought my Nexus 7 to read PDF documents, mostly gaming books, as well as some epub and mobi files, and it has done much better than I expected. EDIT: My girlfriend has one of the e-paper versions of this reader and she likes it.

This might be of use. It looks like an issue with the .exe used by Steam as people have reported that another solution is to replace that with another (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, and in cases like this it really does not seem wrong to use one - however I would try the linked method first as it seems simpler). EDIT: If the rumors are true the Christmas sale starts tomorrow afternoon (when the weekend deal(s) would normally come out).

Yeah, I forgot to say that. Thanks for asking. -
And, sometimes, the publisher/developer. Cracked Steam games have led to banned accounts, and there's other examples like these gems.

It's not, I've had it happen to Bloodlines and several other games myself.

I guess the numbers for the download options should actually be something like: f(x) + 0 = f(x) or f(x) + 1 = f(x) + 1 f(x) = 1/X-Y where X is the number of sales gained and Y is the number of sales lost. I'm currently recovering from the Flu and it is after 2:30 in the morning so my math might be a bit fuzzy, I'm sure that someone could clean it up if needed, but it should be semi-correct at least.
-
Or it might produce a net-loss, as I posted above you would have to break down and compare the differing factors before making a final conclusion (i.e. more sales are not, necessarily, healthier than the 'watching or borrowing' scenario if the gain of those sales also lost you an equal or greater number).
-
That would depend on the amount of people who download from the same source. You would have to take the purchase and compare that to the number of people who only downloaded it verses the number of people who both downloaded it and then bought a copy. Also, you would have to look at the number of people who are 'lost sales', the number that are 'gained sales', and the number of downloaders who would never have bought the game anyways. This is contrasted to the friend's legal copy that has more quantifiable numbers (it might expand slightly if multiple people watched or borrowed the game, and then you would have to start looking at the same statistics that were covered above). I, honestly, would find it fascinating to see, or even preform, a wider study of the file-sharing phenomenon to grasp some of the exact numbers involved. A counterpoint would be that indie games are often hurt more by piracy than AAA releases (making it more 'morally reconcileable' to download them).
