Awesome! And I know that some games, Prey and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic come to mind, that had the option of running off the disc as well as being redeemable via Steam (i.e. you can play without Steam even if you have redeemed the game on Steam). So that might be a workable solution. Or just no-DRM, that works too!

The original poster is a female dog?! That is impressive as most canines lack both a knowledge of English and the ability to post via the interwebs. Also, I've not liked the page - or, rather, I've not unliked the page so I can re-like it (I've been a fan for awhile).

Once you're through the training section, and if you choose the right combination of abilities and perks -or whatever they're called, it's been awhile since I've played the game-, you can effectively bypass them for the rest of the game - either by actually bypassing them or by making them so easy that they're no longer annoying... Well, as annoying.

You need to tweak a value, I forget what it is off the top of my head, and then the issue will go away. It's a rather well known one on x64 systems and there are several apps that can fix it. I'll see if I cannot find a link to one of them and post it (I know that the patch by Wesp has it included under tools, but if you just want the fix application itself I cannot think of a location off the top of my head). EDIT: This might be helpful. EDIT #2: Also, if you're on the Steam version, make sure to disable the auto-update or else it will see that some files have changed and re-download the originals (effectively undoing the fix).

I'm torn between getting this and Dishonored, this or Dishonored, or neither of them. If I do get X-COM I'll likely go ahead and get Dishonored as the $10 back deal combined with the 25% off deal on Green Man Gaming makes the entry price a low(ish) $35 for Dishonored and $45 for X-COM (with the extra $10 of savings going to the other game).

There was a hard-copy 'Neverwinter Nights: Complete' release earlier this year that had everything including a DRM-free copy of Mysteries of Westgate (i.e. NWN + SoU + HotU + NWN Kingmaker + NWN 2 + MotB + SoZ + MoW). There was an issue with NWN in that they used the Diamond Edition Gold Master, a master copy that lacked the latest patch - but the Internet fixed that soon enough.

I fail to see anything funny about it. From what I have seen and heard it was a matter that should have been looked into, and with more interest than saying, on the first day of the investigation, "I don't think there is reason to suspect that he has committed rape." The fact is that the allegations are serious and need to be addressed - if he were anyone else I suspect we'd, for the most part, agree on this. Also, before it is brought up, I know that the Ecuadorean government made offered to Sweden interview him within Ecuador's embassy. And that Sweden refused. But, really, that should be expected. They want him for criminal prosecution and, thus, an interview or two just would not work. But then, I guess it's ok to help with an accused rapist's flight from justice as long as he started a website that you like and supports leaking information.

Most anticipated games of 2013

I'll likely pick up Dead Space 3 when it comes out if the co-op is worth the price, but other then that I cannot think of anything off the top of my head. Tomb Raider is worth looking at but could go either way, and Aliens: Colonial Marines is in the same boat (although I'm almost positive that I'll pick that up if it's any good at all). Metro: Last Light could also be interesting. But, yeah, looks like a slim year for gaming (that's a good thing for my wallet, although co-op games might make me get two copies, one for me and one for the girlfriend, and that is going to add up). -
As uneducated as the unemployed welfare recipients who leach off of taxpayer money? Yes, and, in some cases, they are one-in-the-same.

The original is still on GoG, so it looks like NWN2 was the only one to vanish.

Have you ever disliked a BioWare game? Off the top of my head I cannot remember if you have or not... Perhaps Jade Empire?

R.I.P. BioWare.

She's from the US. The funny thing is, I'm using a World-Wide key, I missed the pre-order for the US while I waited for reviews but was able to snag one from a EU site -and, yes, this was a legit site and not a greymarket one-, and it's looking like it's unlocked for me as well. Perhaps it's based on where you're connecting from and not the key itself?

I'll be picking up two copies of Torchlight 2, one for me and one for the girlfriend, so I should be able to post impressions over the weekend. That said, if you didn't enjoy the first game then you're likely not going to enjoy this one - it seems to be more of the same, alot more (plus multiplayer).

Look in your Steam/SteamApps/Common folder. If you have that left.

Has anyone given Inquisitor a go? It's interesting looking but I'd rather hear some reviews before buying.

I'm currently playing through a run of Diablo II, plus the expansion, and trying Black Mesa on the side. That's about it PC-wise, although I've also been re-reading Hunter: The Vigil and the supplement books in perpetration for a pen-and-paper game.

Which one of you stole my avatar?

Wow... LoF is still around. I thought you would have gotten banned, at least on this account, by now. -
I'm on a phone at the moment, and thus will have to write more when I get to a PC, but I've got to disagree with you as biological sex and socially-built gender are two completely different things. Sex does not equal gender, nor does gender have real meaning outside of labling and norm-setting.
