Outcast was awesome for its time. The lightsaber battles had my jaw dropping. Might be laughable all these years later though.
The powered up force powers were awesome too. I found this trick where you force jumped over an enemies head and then force pulled them as you passed over them and launched them thousands of feet into the air. Kyle Katarn made the new Star Wars Force Unleashed guy look like a pansy. The force powers were easy to use and extremely effective and it only took a couple of hits to down an enemy. With a cheat code you would end up chopping the storm troopers to pieces. I immediately noticed in the Force Unleashed demo how many damn hits the troopers took.
Interesting. Will pick them up next time I see them on sale.
$10 on Steam
Had a fun time last night - started by going to the new years exhibitions that my ballroom studio puts on -normally I'd do one but the choreography wasn't quite done-, then hit a wine bar with a friend for a bit before retiring to her place to continue.
Gothic 4 finished installing so I've played a bit of that, although so far I'm glad that it was a holiday gift (the game is ok but not something would have gotten until a sale).
No, they were there - Riddick, The Witcher, etc. are all published by Atari. Still, it's nice that it's finally on Steam and I'm going to take advantage of the sale price to pick up a second copy for LANing.
Agreed. I hope the next few days of sale aren't just repeats. Was hoping to get Ruse on sale.
It says that new deals start tomorrow, so I'd think that the next week, except, maybe, sans the last day, will not have any repeats.
I'd say that, given trends here and my own experience, there is a very good chance that it will either work out of the box or that a few simple tweaks will be all that is needed to make the game run. That said, Windows 7 would be better, but as long as you have decent equipment -id est not an intel gpu as the game seems to hate those- it should run.
I thought about picking it up bit decided to wait. Likely a mistake given that it's off sale and might not go on again for awhile, but I can always pick up a physical copy Combined Operations at a discount -a quick search shows that it has already been marked down by $20 at some stores- and have an almost DRM free copy that's not tied to Steam (they got rid of the disc-check but FADE is likely still active). Plus I picked up Dragon Rising when it was $3 and so I'll get through co-op mode with that before I move on to a similar, although possibly slightly better -I've seen arguments on both sides-, title.
Games I will get on day-one or soon after:
Dragon Age 2
Witcher 2
Dungeon Siege 3
Mass Effect 3
Culpa Innata 2
Torchlight 2
Trine 2
Dead State
Games I will get sometime (after the price goes down):
XCOM
Portal 2
Crysis 2
Games I might, or might not, pick-up:
Diablo 3
Duke Nukem Forever
Deus Ex Human Revolution
Elder Scrolls V
Dead Space 2
Total War: Shogun 2
Picked up Iron Grip: Warlord and Shattered Union - the first was fun, if dated, and the second doesn't like x64 Windows 7 (or at least my PC). Still, I'm not feeling horribly ripped-off seeing as the former was $2.50 and the latter was $0.49. Onward to tomorrow's sales...
Yeah, I missed it as well. And today's sales are either things I already have or things I'm not that interested in... Oh well, I guess that's more money to spend on other things.
