More importantly, who actually cares? Because 213374U's post is worded like majority does. ... Like, who of y'all remembers the time where GOG purposefully cut paying customer's access to their games for a publicity stunt?
-
Well... They may not have the people, but all derivatives of copyrighted binaries still belong to the copyright holder most of the time, so I assume many libraries can do what GOG did on many occassions: Just grab a crack or download an illegal copy and start from there. Anyway, good initiative. Hope it'll pass in US and gets widespread globally.

Pictures of your Games 11 - The Quickening
Fenixp replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
Getting towards the end of my Canon Bioshock Playthrough. 'Spose I'll play Bio 2 after that as well. -
That argument pretty much ends where you can press R1 to swap to impact grenades, at which point not being able to set default behavior just sounds ... Irritating

FAKE NEWS "BG had mostly ok-ish combat in RPG history" REAL NEWS

Thing is, with decent UI backing it up, Dwarf Fortress would be reasonably approachable. And don't forget that there's a ton of complex games that wouldn't really be considered 'hardcore' in any way.
-
Well... If it's horrid UI that makes a game 'hardcore', you've pretty much reinforced Gromnir's point
-
See? This I totally get.

Yet it's the other way around. And there's a reason for that - WH40k has pretty much everything that made SC lore/story good, upped by a large margin due to having a lot more time to grow. I've been an avid fan of SC story/lore myself for the longest time and refused to touch anything 40k related, but then I did and ... Well ... I can see why people enjoying both franchises (like me) tend to prefer WH40k. Incidentally, Eisenhorn book is like 300 pages in a rather small format and there's pretty much no pictures for you to go 'I don't like this design!' - so don't let stubbornness keep you from something you're likely going to enjoy very much if you're as much of a fan of SC as you claim to be. Edit: No, you're not homophobic, society in WH40k is. ... Presumably.
-
There's opinions and opinions. When you say "WH40k sounds gay to me", I'll say "Fair enough, I'm certain many homosexuals enjoy reading about homophobic societies" When you say "WH40K has too much fantasy for me, SC on the other hand is brutal and rugged" I'll say "You don't really know jack **** about 40k, do you?" If what you want is sharing opinions without there being any possibility of discussing them, start a blog, not much of a need for discussion boards. Or... Y'know... Just ignore the replies.

There's just... So much wrong with that statement. https://www.blacklibrary.com/all-products/eisenhorn-trilogy.html

Yea but... Is the mission design any good? I'm not talking about the writing, writing in Rockstar games felt mediocre at best to me - but ... Y'know ... Different folks and all that To be fair, they did in GTAV as well, AFAIK I mean... If you want to think that. Just remember it's not the first time information of that sort got out on Rockstar, so either is a recurring joke or just a reality of game development. Experience tells me it'll be the latter.
-
Is the mission/quest/plot/whatever design improved from GTA V? I mean, is it a linear "go from objective to objective, shoot men and god forbit you stray 2 meters from the path" again once you start a story mission or did the missions themselves get a bit more open-ended?
-
How much are you getting paid to play it tho?

I'd say every self-respecting article writing person (not necessarily a 'journalist', whatever that means nowadays) will write his/her name beneath every single article he/she writes, often even with a short blurb about their preferences. All you really have to do is to take note of these to be able to tell their biases. You don't know either the youtubers or the journalists, so neither's going to be particularly transparent. That's not to say journalists are somewhat better than Youtubers, it's actually saying they're mostly on par in my eyes - I've got a set of people I trust and find consistent and I follow those. Yup, pretty much. Doesn't really matter whether you type words or say them out loud.

The level design in later levels of Bioshock just feel... A lot less fleshed out. Well, at least the level after the Ryan's reveal is. There's often just massive rooms with not a whole lot inside them - not even close to rich and detailed bits like the Fish Market. Then again, there's cool bits in there too. I also discovered what very effectively battles bullet sponginess of enemies: Mr. Shotty does. While standard ammo of all other basic guns became more or less useless, shotgun just massacres things. And when I have to reload I can just swap to my beefed-up wrench to finish things up! Good, good. Edit: Oh right, I also dig the feature where they failed to fix the original's bug where it randomly reverts to window mode upon launching the game. They did fix the alt+enter shortcut to deal with it without entering graphics options so that it doesn't work anymore. So um... Well done?

Yeah I'm mostly trying to go through the story right now, so Bio 2's kinda out of the picture. And Infinite... Well, Infinite was a good shooter, but it pretty much dropped the immersive sim pretense entirely which I wasn't happy about at the time but, y'know, Prey exists now. Anyway, now I'm starting to remember stuff I really did not like about the game back when I played it for the first time. Hacking that's so primitive it might as well not be there when played on the mouse put aside, the way the game just starts swapping under-powered versions of splicers with massively bullet-spongy ones is just not fun.
-
And get a wireless Xbox One pad. You can thank me later. Well I've got a comfortable chair for gaming, yet I still prefer pad and a couch. Your mouse always needs to stay in contact with your table so to sit healthily, you still get a limited array of positions to put yourself into, which doesn't sit well with me constantly wiggling about. Just sayin'. I'm still not entirely sure why doesn't PC master race just go for the obvious argument of "Well with PC, you get to choose whether you prefer to play on a chair with K+M or on your couch with a gamepad, because PCs are flexible" and instead tries to advertise peripheral designed for inefficient writing as opposed to playing the actual strength of the platform, but, y'know, whatever floats your boat :-P

I'm attempting to do a full Bioshock playthrough (So Bioshock, Bioshock: Infinite and the B:I DLC). If I'm feeling like going through Bioshock 2 after that I will, but since Levigne has decided to completely cut it from the canon, it doesn't make sense to go through its story again as well (albeit I liked how the second game played a fair bit more than the original.) Anyway, I'm at the Cohen bit and really digging how does the game pace itself. I'm also noticing how much of a bunch of idiots did devs deem necessary to deem their players. The game's clearly designed to be played without the hugeass objective arrow plasterd over the screen (never had it enabled, gah), yet it's a default setting for all players to see. It even has a hint system in place in case you get stuck without the arrow! I'm also quite torn on how scripted the whole thing is, with levels that, while sprawling, tend to progressively open up as the plot progresses - a lot of the game's philosophy is the exact opposite to what Prey showed us back last year.

At the end of the day, that's just a badly designed game tho, which should be criticized regardless of respec existing.
-
It's neat to have that bit of gaming history preserved I suppose.

The game bugged out for me and refused to spawn the last trophy no matter what I did. ... Yeah.
