  1. Enable cheats: open the console using the ~ key, then enter Iroll20s; then use the ~ again, and enter NoFog. Doing this will preclude you from steam achieves.
  2. I didn't play it at release, and didn't know about the kickstarter effort, or I'd have put in a bunch of $$.... but I have played the game before the xpac (or is it dlc? I never know....) and after, and while I enjoyed the "vanilla game", the game with the xpac is better in my view.
  3. Heh. I wish each party member could have a pet.... I love the undead black kitty.... so that's the one I use all the time. I'd really like to give the other pets to my other girls, and have them all capering around.
  4. That looks more like a gamma issue to me.... or perhaps a difference in time of day at the screenshot. Also, your second (the one labeled "after") is dated in April, while the first ("before") is dated in September?
  5. As I said, it's very subjective. You seem to be the one who can't stand it if someone doesn't like your favorite game as much as they like other game Now you talk about repetitive encounters and that it was "too easy" when you leveled up... POE is the same Zerg vs ZERG all over again your spells are damage/buffs/CC, THATS IT, talking about repetitive **** and this game is the epitome of repetition... and its normal to become powerful in an RPG and feel that some stuff is easier when you level up, maybe you should stop playing RPG if you dont like the reward of becoming powerfull in a game. What? Is this a response to what I said? What's a zerg? Are you disputing that I found D:OS's encounters repetitive, boring, and far too easy? Many others felt the same way. In D:OS you automatically gained a level. You couldn't delay it like you can in PoE. So when I went to areas with enemies far above my level in D:OS, I gained a lot of XP and automatically gained a lot of levels and vitality very quickly, making the combat even easier when I was trying to make it harder. I appreciate that PoE lets the player decide when to level up because it's a good way to allow the player to control the difficulty of the game. You can stay at a low level but go to areas with tougher enemies. It's also a callback to the IE games so that reminder of those games is nice for me. Player controlled leveling is a mechanic that many RPGs don't have and I really wish that they did. You may like being able to sleepwalk through 90% of a game's combat like I did in D:OS but I don't. I prefer either being able to avoid combat altogether or else have challenging combat. For me, PoE's combat was far more challenging than D:OS's combat, although I think PoE also suffers from repetitive encounters. If you think D:OS's combat was more challenging than PoE's, what did you find more challenging about it? How would you make PoE's more challenging? That might make for a far more interesting discussion than you repeatedly calling people fanboys. "Zerg" is an MMO term referring to a group running at full speed through an instance that's supposed to be challenging for an at-level party. It's a cakewalk for an over-geared or over-leveled party, and generally done repeatedly to enable various of the group members to attain specific gear. It wouldn't seem to have much relevance in a game like PoE - unless that poster is perhaps running the entire game on God mode (in which case, yeah, it's probably a zerg....) Cant EDIT: again
  6. RNG now is not really any different in main than rolling dice in AD&D tabletop in the mid-70s. Lot faster now, being done by the computer.... but the point is still the same.
  7. You do need more copper than you'll probably have at that point though....
  8. I've seen some around. I think maybe it's just "flavor", otherwise known as "dungeon dressing". I must say though, I've not seen that particular corpse up there on the way to Bricanta Doemenel.... That's a new one.
  9. It's some sort of trap effect - I've seen it a couple of times. But certainly not for a month in game! Once the ranger's pet wandered over it, and set it off, so it disappeared. The other time, it dissipated in an hour of game time IIRC (not positive on that time frame, but somewhere around that).
  10. Are you serious? I found many on my gog version. Can't believe the bugs only happen on gogs version, shouldnt be that different. Yes, I am serious. I'm on my second playthrough of 2.01 (with WM 1), and I STILL have not encountered any bugs. Period. I would be so presumptuous and say that you haven't just noticed them, as most of them don't have that dramatic effects and it is especially hard to tell when there are missing voice overs or other sounds if you don't know that they should be there in the first place. Uh. I don't do voiceovers. I HATE that stuff. So yeah, if that's where the bugs are, I'll never know about them. Works for me.
  11. I'm keeping a close eye on this thread (bookmarked). Because what I really really want with this game now is a way to add my own quests and so on.... I'm an inveterate user of mods in games like Oblivion and Skyrim, and this one (though the available mods except for IEMod are pretty thin on the ground....). I don't at this point have any suggestions for you. This next playthrough, I'll try to keep my mind a bit more open to what things I'd like to see as "extensibles".
  12. Are you serious? I found many on my gog version. Can't believe the bugs only happen on gogs version, shouldnt be that different. Yes, I am serious. I'm on my second playthrough of 2.01 (with WM 1), and I STILL have not encountered any bugs. Period.
  13. Well, just look at what happens when you hire Korgrak - you have -6 to Caed Nua rep right off the bat! It's okay with me, because I always prefer to do things like that quest peacefully. But as a party member, any of the wilders should cause issues with the "normal" populace. Now, that could make for some REALLY fun RP though!
  14. I'm.... not sure at all what you're on about Zherot. This is a "private" game. No one else can know what you do or why or how often. You may choose to play this game any way you wish, which is entirely a GOOD thing, is it not? Whatever your issue is, I hope you continue to have fun with this game.
  15. Um.... I could say something, but I'm not going there.... Anyway.... What's "Ravenwing"? I don't seem to have ever had that....
  16. I like the "take as a talent" idea, a lot! Which everybody is going to take... and now you are making it mandatory. Um. In one of my groups I would, yes. In the other, no. And it's not a "competing against the rest of the world" game anyway, so why would it matter? Besides, no one from the devs has said they're going to do this, so why are you getting defensive?
  17. I just can't think about a main toon who's not a ranger. It SO fits me personally. And there are good rp backgrounds for ranger in any game/fiction universe anywhere.... beginning with Tolkien and going on from there, rangers are quintessential. If I were a game toon IRL, I'd be a ranger with either a cat or a wolf, depending. In THIS game, wolf is better than cat. It's okay, I love both cats and dogs - even though I'm first and foremost a cat people. Now if somehow this game could just provide me with a horse.... I'm too old to have more horses now IRL, but I do miss them....
  18. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytWz0qVvBZ0 Okay, THAT was funny! Thanks for posting it!
  19. I haven't found one bug in the 2.01 steam version. Not one.
  20. Ah! Thanks for those nice pieces of information, that's something I was missing for the equation. That's good, I'll handle that today then. I'll think about which to do, but it's unlikely that I'll make more toons to use, these are working just fine (though I haven't started the Battery, nor got into having to deal with any of the dragons yet). I found Durance extremely annoying.... so I may just make a priest. I can make a male, that way I'll be very happy to get rid of him at the first op! You're very helpful; I do appreciate it!
  21. Hmm. If I "release" one of my custom girls to hire a priest for just this specific thing, will the other one still be available to hire when I want to get rid of the priest? As you can tell, there's a few things I'm not real sure about in this game as yet. I can't remember now (way too many years ago) how the custom parties worked in BG 1, but I do seem to remember that you occasionally had to pick up one of the premades because there were specific scripted things you needed one or the other of them for, but I can't now bring to mind what happened with the custom characters....
  22. Ok great. But how ? I never see where i can do that ? In an inn - when you're in the UI, on the left you'll see an icon with 3 dice. Click that.
  23. Can you resume it?, even if its not relevant to the topic i would like to know what it says, too lazy to read it though. I'm not sure you can easily TL;DR that article. It's a lot of personal opinion with references to many games over the last 30 years. And really, it has nothing to do with playing a wizard in this game as it's set up right now; it has to do with what one person would like to see happen with magic in games (and fiction). *shrug* To me, it's one of those things where, once I read it, I rolled my eyes and said, "If you think you can do better, maybe you should make your own game (or write your own book, whatever....)".
  24. I have my own custom companions, so Eder's armor's not available to me. I'll see about the ring, don't recall having found it, but it's easy to lose track of bits. As far as easy - I've already finished the others (except for the rogue's mace, which I haven't got yet because I haven't got into the Battery yet) - they were a lot easier than having to micromanage how my pally gets knocked out and revived. I'll have to take a look at the AI script on her too - I must have set it up somehow, but don't actually know what it does at this point (not being in game right now....) What I find is that she'll take a really huge amount of damage to endurance but so far hasn't been knocked out even once.... *shrug* In fact, the barbarian gets plopped on her rear end fairly frequently - maybe I should have given HER the Redeemer instead.... Thanks for the info! [Oh - I don't have a priest.... hate the class; and I don't have another pally. This party is Ranger main, Pally, Barb, Druid, Wizard, Rogue....]
