Random thoughts and stray Observations
the_dog_days replied to Banjodark's topic in Beta Feedback for Turn-Based Mode
They need to beef up two handed weapon damage before looking into multiple attacks per turn. Two handed lags way behind duel welding and is only slightly better than single one handed weapons and it needs to be implemented first to make sure it doesn't give rise to the two handed max dex meta. -
^ Think I know who you're talking about. There was supposed to be a whole questline about taking him out.

Sierra's IPs are now owned by Activsion. But I would love for Microsoft to buy it and get an Arcanum 2.

AC:O hangs a lantern on the fact that romances don't matter. They make they funny, short, and pointless. Honestly, it's about as good as romances in video games can be done.

Yes. The way the actors deliver lines are different but literally everything else is the exact same.

There's a walk toggle button with keyboard and mouse (CTRL I think).

Welp. Looks like Goff choked like I thought he would. And to think that any offense from the Rams and they might've won.

Larping in Japan isn't quite like larping in Iowa.

What do you know, Brady already had a pass more than 15 yards down field today and it's not even the 4th quarter.

I'm now 123 hours in AC:O. More than halfway through, but other than that I'm not sure how close to being done I am. Really wish I wasn't a completionist. That would make my life a lot easier.

I'm on my fourth (fifth?) playthrough and looting Queen Onekaza's room when I notice she has lots restoratives and an antidote tucked away in different parts of the room. Think this might be deliberate environmental storytelling to show her fear of assassination. If so, neat little detail.

am kinda an opposite number to enoch as am doing law stuff to mildly annoy the state. a wee bit sweary most days, our profession is to let lou (the government) beat on us 'til he becomes exhausted or so frustrated as to make capitulation a reasonable course o' action. HA! Good Fun! ps doesn't pay well but at least we lose the respect o' our professional peers. I do stuff for the people who do law stuff.

Was dex a god stat? I've been dumping it for my characters and still leading my party in DPS for the game. Int and duration is the heads cratcher to me. If all you have are single target duration effects then you basically have three numbers to chose from: (for standard 10 second ability RTwP) 3 int = 1 turn, 10 int = 2 turns, 20 int =3.

Fixed. Yeah, that's why it keeps breaking on me. -
Pachfinder Bugmaker: The Rekkoning

I can't take them seriously, they made Bard's Tale win "best remake" award. What the hell is Kenshi doing there :D The Bard's Tale remake is easily the best remake/remaster I've ever played and the best game in InXile's entire catalogue. Best joke I've heard all week. A ton of glitches, completely broken pathing, crashes that corrupt save files, terrible optimalization, combat that is basically rocket tag and very easy to exploit... do I need to go on? The game is 6/10 on Steam atm and that's pretty generous for this piece of crap. Wait, are you on the Pathfinder thread criticizing another game about bugs? -
InXile is doing it right now with BTIV (the upcoming patch will fundamentally change the game and make many, many improvements) and Bard's Tale Trilogy is still being worked on (BT3 has yet to ship) but I'll wager InXile has easily outsold the originals already by quite a margin--and the last game in the trilogy hasn't shipped nor has the legacy mode for all three BT titles. InXile's mostly going to patch in features promised in the kickstarter. Just like they did with Torment.

Josh stated multiple times (article above including) that he prefers turn-based. And article reflects my feeling that realtime doesn't encourage to engage with Deadfires system. I am really curious to see how it will work. If that were true that's some weird decision making, Tim also likes turn based and was a lead on PoE. When Pillars of Eternity was pitched, it was 100% about following Baldur's Gate design which had RTwP (as does most of BioWare games). These days everyone just want turn-based RPGs, despite the genre being super dead for years, considered archaic old school design and laughed at unless it's a JRPG. Divinity Original Sin 2 turned the genre around. Turn style has never died. Every time it's been on the verge of 'dying' an awesome game comes along and changes everyone's mind again. And given that turn style is the best way for a player to control anything with a party or group, it will never die.

Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition
the_dog_days replied to casa's topic in NWN 2: General Discussion
I don't know about an enhanced edition, but I'd love one massive bug squashing patch to get rid of at least the progression stopping bugs.
