Casually mentioning a few of Pillars of Eternity's main problems without sophistication
the_dog_days replied to FelxK5's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Tangent: failed states in Pathfinder are more do to the poor way it delivers information. Your kingdom can fail because of who you sent to do a small task a chapter before with no indication of how important the task. Plot threat that never manifests > getting failed states from making decisions in a vacuum.

What game did you bought last?
Much like BioWare, they started to chase the shinny.

How bad was that ending? (Spoiler alert)
the_dog_days replied to KindCollusion's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)But they already established that you can't beat Eothas in the opening cut scene. Dude just walks by you and you nearly die. Sure, writers could've done some deus ex mechina to 'make you as powerful as a god', but that seems counter intuitive to what we already know about the gods and excludes the Watcher from being a possible protagonist in the next installment. Otherwise, the only way around this is to have a completely different primary conflict.

What are you playing RIGHT NOW?
Been playing a lot of SWTOR as a smuggler. Its alright. Mostly just grinding and wasting time until Greedfall drops.

Stories of the important heroes in the Watcher's teams - thoughts
the_dog_days replied to IamNOOB's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)I honestly thing Aloth is the best written character in the series. Not my favorite, but the most nuanced.

Ideas for setting of next game
the_dog_days replied to Seriphos's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)We've already had enough 'gods (or their servants) are the bad guys'. We need POE 3's villain to be staunchly anti-religious because that's something that we haven't seen in this setting. Might be fun if the villain actually was the Watcher and we have to play a new character.

Tons of tweets, posts, threads, and emails and no response = Atari nondisclosure. And, no, nobodies talked about the nondisclosure itself because its a nondisclosure. 😑

- Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition
Storm Cost Legends takes place in Luskan which, also, is no longer available on Steam.- Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition
Its probably something to do with NWN1 being made before the Atari sell offs and NWN2 being made during it.- Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition
Its available on GOG. They (Atari?) took it down from Steam years ago.- Baldur's Gate 3?
And Xcom smirked.- Baldur's Gate 3?
Larian specified that they'll be using a camera like in the Original Sin series: it can be either top down or third person.- How do you rank or compare the other popular cRPGS?
the_dog_days replied to Verde's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)My highly biased list of games I liked the most among the recent crpg revival: 1) Pillars of Eternity 2) Battle Brothers 3) The Bard's Tale Trilogy (a remake of the first three Bard's Tale games) 4) Divinity Original Sin 2 5) Shadowrun Dragonfall 6) Pillars of Eternity 2 7) Shadowrun Hong Kong Pathfinder Kingmaker 9) Tyranny 10) Underrail 11) Divinity Original Sin 12) Wasteland 2 13) Shadowrun Returns 15) Druidstone (haven't finished; been way too busy with work) 16) Serpent in the Staglands 17) The Age of Decadence 18) Low Magic Age (still in development but shows a lot of potential) 19) Torment Tides of Numenera (the only game on this list I didn't care for)- Pictures of your games 12
Bet you its going to be feet.- What game did you bought last?

Several months ago I incorrectly said that Underrail's upcoming Expedition expansion was going to be free. Its not. It will, however be out July 22. https://www.gog.com/game/underrail_expedition- What are you playing RIGHT NOW?
Forgive me father for I have sinned. I fell into sin and debauchery by redownloading AC Odyssey to play the DLC. - Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition
