  1. Yippee! Mods approve! I'm writing a Game Design document for K3. I have the story part done to about 10%, some character creation tweaks and additions. I'm using the same game engine to write it(it's easier to input ideas) but that will surely change. So far the only returning character to be written in is Mandalore back as Canderous. There is a new starting party member, a woman specializing in Jedi/Sith lore, more specifically Revan and the Jedi Civil War. Republic officials believe Revan to be the Threat and they send an officer with "special" talents to gather information in the Unknown regions and to possibly neutralize the threat. There are some other things in there but I won't divulge too much...
  2. And how will you make your conclusion take effect?
  3. Truely. They would rush themselves to release a half made game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They used to make great games. I believe they have the talent but they are just lazy and rich. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Interplay used to make great games. Now look where they are at. Take a hint LA> <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LA can stay afloat a lot longer than Interplay. They get funding from LucasInc.
  4. There's also the Commandos games, similar to Silent Storm but in 2D if I am not mistaken. Never played it though, supposed to be very very hard.
  5. Star Ocean Till the End of Time has also done away with RBs. I hate them too
  6. OMFG! ARE YOU SERIOUS? MASTER CHIEF IS CHUCK NORRIS??!! But I thought Master Chief was a woman. You know like Seamus?
  7. Thanks I'll try it on my lunch break Oh and I forgot to mention, PC TBSs first please. There are no shortages of them on consoles
  8. I looove Final Fantasy... But. I was disapointed with FFX and FFX-2 is just so boring. I never played FFXI because I have to pay to play, even on PS2 so no thank you, the initial 60$ is enough for me. I'm hoping that FFXII will make a return to the old ways of FF but my hopes are not very high. I try to stay away from info on the game because story is always very important in FF and I don't want to be spoiled. FFIX was a mix of elements from previous FFs and was said to be an hommage to those games, also closing Square's involvment with the PS1. Maybe FFX was also a step in another direction for the franchise then.
  9. Although I agree with tying the loose ends with Revan, the threat and the true Sith, Czerka and the exchange are simply an afterthought, sidequests and trivial things that only serve as extra alignment shift opportunities. They should both be present in K3 but I don't think there is anything to "close" there. Bastila should definitely be back in the party but I see her more as an opposite to Kreia, a mentor and a teacher as well as an advisor on Revan to the PC. I also think that since she is powerful(close to level 20) her control by the player should be limited OR she should appear towards the end of the game. I also like the idea of her being DS though.
  10. Wow thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for. Tactics Ogre was great on GBA. I thought Lords of the Realm was RTS for some reason. I am unfamiliar with most of your list. Thank you!
  11. GalCiv2: better then ever, if any game can kick MoO2 from throne, than this one PS: you don't need to buy GalCiv1 if you buy 2, the 2nd has anything what the 1st had, and WAY much more <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I already have the first one although I didn't play it much, not sure why. INSTALL!
  12. Whats BotF? EDIT: Never mind I just noticed its a link... <_< I played Away Team I also played Jagged Alliance, GalCiv1, Fallout 1-2&Tactics and those mentionned above in the original post. This is scary...
  13. Hey thanks for the fast replies! I played Silent Storm and Galactic Civ 1 thank you for reminding me, I'll replay them. I will try Hammer and Sickle as well. Any others? So rare!
  14. Killing Chewie was sacreligious. I'm surprised GL let that pass. Chewie is his favorite.
  15. Hello, I'm a big turn-based strategy fan but they are very rare to my knowledge. Other than X-Com, Civilization, Age of Wonders, Disciples, HoMM and Master of Orion, does anyone know of any others? I'm looking for some less known games, games that could've slipped under my radar. Any suggestions? What are your favorites and why? Thank you
  16. Truely. They would rush themselves to release a half made game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They used to make great games. I believe they have the talent but they are just lazy and rich.
  17. Hey now! What do you have against my mother's basement?
  18. There is equal news on SC2 as there is with KOTOR3.
  19. I agree with Battlewookie. Your soul is forfeit, time to collect.
  20. If the game follows the movies, it should be purely coincidental. I mean, it is already almost copying the universe of Star Wars. We need originality and I really hope they didn't actually go out of their way to mask obvious inspirations from the movies to avoid accusations of plagiarism.
  21. The video games business surely must be an art? Seriously I think it's like movies. Video games are an artform that is profitable enough to be a business. Many people express themselves through artform in video games, just like in movies. Designers have a style of game all their own, like the 3D artists modeling creatures and NPCs, like the writers layout stories and dialog, sound designers each have a personal sound design technique. A producer will hire a team based on each person's individual style on the whole. Everyone expresses themselves, except the executives who only see the colour green but still think they know everything. There is definitely art in video games but it is also a business, like movies.
  22. Indeed. "LucasArts proudly presents the Kotor2: Collector's Editon, subtitled; The Full Game! In this game you can do all kind of fun stuff you were supposed to be doing half a year ago, like visiting the Droid Factory with HK, visit a droid planet to meet Vash and HAVE AN ACTUAL ENDING" *Audience claps* "ofcourse, for all this stuff you paid $50 for already to get should cost you another $40 bucks. No point waiting for Team Gizka now, because we sued them into oblivion. And while you are at it we also hereby announce Kotor3, sceduled for Christmas 2006. Either get it then (and function as paid beta-tester) or wait half a year for the Full Version!" Great publicity. The people would surely give them a "warm" welcome... I love the smell of a burned LA-office in the morning <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dang right
  23. This game will be known as Dukem Suckem Forever. Or Daikatana 2.
  24. Well, NWN2's pub is Atari, not LucasArts. So if LucasArts wants a KOTOR3 ASAP they will go with another dev, not Obsidian. However, it is rumored that LA won't be doing anything for a while so maybe they are waiting for OE to finish those 3 projects before asking for K3, which could be in 3-4 years(!). Or, LA is peed-off that OE didn't finish the game properly in that short devtime and they are just looking for another dev that will put up with their demands.
