  1. I thought the cure for AIDS was money? Worked for Magic Johnson, no?
  2. I felt most evil betraying Rukil in K1. I was taking care of my grandmother at the time so betraying the elderly got to me.
  3. FFVII Sucked! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe it does compared to previous FF titles however it is still much better then the FFs that followed and it basically made what the PS1 is today. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought IX was better than VII but I'll agree with you that it did make the PlayStation what it is today. I also think that the majority of gamers who say that FFVII was the best in the series never played the FF games prior to it or they did at some point but FFVII was their first. I don't have a problem with it....I think FFVII helped the series tremendously as far as popularity goes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I really enjoyed FF9 the first time I played it. But not so the second time, which is the complete opposite with FF8. Hated it the first time, loved it the second. Go figure. FFX... WAY to linear, kind of boring and the worst voice acting.
  4. I don't know about that. The Lost Chapters felt takked on to me. You beat the bad guy, the world is safe again. Oh wait, a brand new threat that no one ever heard of! Yay!
  5. Oh wow! The elusive "Illusionary link"! 2 in one shot! Amazing!

  7. Doubling the 'weird taste' comment. You are the first person who I have EVER heard defend the soundtrack. As for story, FFX at least had cinimatic liniarity strung togeather with cutscenes, FFX2 was an odd mishmash of sidequests with a 'main plot' that felt pretty tacked on and pointless. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes and who in their right mind wouldn't like playing a bunch of girls, changing outfits to outwit another fashiongirl and playing dressup 50 times an hour?
  8. I think most Trekkies are on BSG now. But I can't wait for this one(the SW series). Hope lasts long, like 7-8 seasons. Well, if its good.
  9. This is not anime and it's little league stuff compared to anime but I used to really enjoy Shadow Raiders. Couldn't miss an episode. Also Gargoyles. As anime goes I really enjoyed the recently revamped Appleseed, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, the usual big ones.
  10. Spring ends in late June, which is what all the cool people were penciling in as NWN2's release. Seems on track, to me, unless they mean April. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I personnaly know some of the QA team. Could take longer...
  11. Maybe the screenshot in question is the famous "non-postable" screenshot thats been lurking around the net? Nobody knows what it is because nobody can post it?
  12. Yup. With KotR you can beat him in like 3-4 rounds. he can barely take a shot at you. But then again, the reward for beating him is useless.
  13. Whats awful about hitting the enemy (12x9999)x3 damage?
  14. No. No. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No to what? the speculations or the truth? Both?
  15. Are these simple game journalists' predictions/speculations or is there some truth to it this time?
  16. No it wasn't. " There is more.
  17. Do you hate him or somthing? Also Chrono Cross has this 'bump into baddies to fight' system, but if you're European, you'll have to import. Shadow Hearts has random battles, but I never found them to be a problem (the game is about 20 hours, so the dungeons are really short and there is a story with actual pacing). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> True, I forgot to mention chrono cross, which is a great game! maybe even better than some FF titles. Does anyone else know any other JRPGs without a random-combat system? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Star Ocean : Til the End of Time
  18. All excellent games! If you have a PS2 there are some pretty good ones made by Nippon-Ichi -- Disgaea, LaPucelle Tactics, Phantom Brave and Makai Kingdom. They're pretty in depth SRPG's but they're fun if you like that sorta thing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I found Disgaea to be very strange. Following the chapters I was thru it in half a day. I know it is also a complicated game as you can reach levels in the thousands but I just don't know whatthe game is about and it didn't catch me on time. I need to be absorbed in a game within the first hour at least or it will stay on the shelves. So I never bothered with the other Nippon Ichi games.
  19. If you want to play some decent lightsaber duels, I suggest Jedi Academy. If you want to play a party of characters that explore and discover a good story, new weapons, armour and items and travel from one planet to another in an early setting of the Star Wars universe, I suggest Knights of the Old Republic. Star Wars is many things, including a sci-fi/fantasy story/universe, space battles and lightsaber duels. Fitting all this in a balanced manner and pleasing everyone, in a single game, is impossible. That is why there are many types of games based on Star Wars and not a single game remade every year. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LA should just combine all of the SW games. We should have all the good things for our selves <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Battlefront 2 has it all. now if only it was in the Ep 4-5-6 era...

  21. Would be nice to gain some xp even if some enemies are avoided though. Maybe a stealth or puzzle thing?
  22. This is partly why I am cautious when it comes to playing JRPGs.. The good news, however, is that random wandering encounters are really close to being phased out entirely in modern JRPGS. But that is not the worst of it... What still remains in JRPGS is that awful, boring menu-driven combat system that doesn't allow you to position your characters and lends to some serious button-mashing. I wish more JRPGs had the strategic combat system that Shining Force or Grandia have. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Again, Star Ocean TtEoT.
