  1. This last episode had too much Sun/Jin stuff and not enough Ana/Henri stuff. Jack is really starting to get on my nerves with his hypocritical hollier than thou attitude and Locke lost his edge when Boone died. I find it very interesting that all the people who were "good" in the beginning are becoming more twisted and vice versa. Sawyer for example is becoming a really nice guy and Kate too although she could still be playing people. Ana's 180 was too fast though. Anyway those are my 2cents.
  2. I never drank horse pee but I assume it tastes like beer.
  3. I'm still on Sid Meier's Pirates! for PC. Playing at home. Playing at work(!) Playing at night. Every chance I get. this game is killing me. I hate it. BUT I CAN'T STOP!!!
  4. Indeed, rotten bosses make the lives of their employees more miserable than they have to be. Still, the only thing worse than a poor-paying job at the bottom rung of the employment ladder is no job at all. Anyone who doesn't like their job is free to go get another one. Anyone who can't get another one should just suck it in and do what they are paid to do. Nobody starts at the top, bucko. BTW, you may not have meant it to sound arrogant, but presuming that somebody else hasn't experienced working for crappy wages in even crappier working conditions simply because that person isn't gnashing his teeth and bemoaning his fate really was fairly rude. It was probably inaccurate as well, since I dare say that most people who've survived into middle age have paid their dues at some time in their lives by working in very unpleasant conditions for a mere pittance of a wage. But they did so because, as pointed out, a lousy paycheck is better than no paycheck and, again as pointed out, nobody starts at the top. Also, nobody comes into this world entitled to a handout. Some folks are born into privilege; others aren't. Some are lazy bums who think everyone else should take care of them; others grit their teeth, work hard, and earn what they get. Some people work hard all their life, and barely eek out a living. Them's the breaks. Life isn't fair, unfortunately. Pissing and moaning one's lot in life may make us feel better... until we see a one-armed fruit picker with six half-starved children living in the back of a pickup truck. That's when we realize that maybe, just maybe earning minimum wage and putting up with a snotty boss or two really isn't the worst tragedy life could dish out! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you flaming me? Cuz it seems like we are saying basically the same thing with different words.
  5. It's still pronounced "Vile". I think. Because technically he is.
  6. someone stole Gabrielle and replaced her with GJK! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe she is being sarcastic. Although this would not be like her, it could be a possibility. :D
  7. Except for Chuck Norris. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Please.... must.... not... go.... there.
  8. Reality shows are more like game shows. Actually they ARE game shows, pale copies of those weird and psychotic asian game shows. American Idol is nothing more than Star Search 2. Nothing original here. I used to watch Temptation Island, Big Brother and Fear Factor... only for the babes. How immature of me.
  9. The title for this thread makes me laugh. "If you die and discover there is a God". What do you mean by "If"? Everyone dies. When I die and realize there is a God, my first words to It will be : "Sorry".
  10. I really miss DOS.
  11. Divine Divinity Beyond Divinity(plagued with Starforce though) Arx Fatalis Gothic 1&2 Metal Hearts(I never played it) Wizardry 8 Wizards and Warriors(older but if you can get past the bugs its very enjoyable) Modded Morrowind(I know most people here despise that game but properly modded it is quite good). Hope that helps.
  12. I WAS happy with Win98 but eventually I was forced to upgrade to WinXP. It probably be the same with Vista. I'll milk XP as long as possible.
  13. The first season of Roswell was very good. Mysterious, clever. But the second season just killed it. It became ridiculous. But anything with Ms. Heigl as a star is worth it imo :D I recently began the long trek through Farscape. I never watched it before. "Interesting" is the first word that comes to mind.
  14. His father passed away recently... Doofus. <_<
  15. Apparently it doesn't need to boil, just reach 50 degrees. And since in Africa the temperature is around 40 degrees all day, clear bottles on black should get to that temperature quite easily methinks. Neat idea indeed, too bad it took them hundreds of years to figure out... "
  16. A question was asked to me earlier, in this discussion, "why must you bring your religion in to all of this". My answer is simple, Jesus Christ is my Lord, God, and Savior; Jesus is the bigest part of my life, and his Holy Light shines thru my every move. So I will continue to pray for you, and all non-beleivers. My efforts to help guide people to the Light, will not be stoped by you or any of the rest of you non beleivers. I have every right to speak my mind. You might ask yourself, why do the comments of one man upset you so much. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not even Jesus could love you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Satan will embrace him though. Ironic.
  17. Who doesn't acknowledge and condemn slavery? Except for slavers of course. It seems to me most people have not forgotten. It also seems to me like the reason we still have some form of racism is because certain parties are unwilling to let go of the past. Then again if they did, would we still remember it? Everybody remembers. Some can't let go. Hence, the violence. And by the way, slavery was still quite present in the fifties, not hundreds of years ago. And by another way, it is still going on today.
  18. Unless it happens to you
  19. Vikings ftw! Or hobbits? Hmm... sorry for the slight derailment. I hate Canada because we(in Quebec) are overtaxed, jobless and what little industries we have left are closing shop and moving to China. I don't want to raise my child here because it has been to hard for me. People are too much in a hurry for any little thing and everyone seems to think they are God's gift to the Universe. I'm generally a very relaxed person and I feel that my kind simply doesn't have a place here in North America anymore.
  20. From what you wrote, you obviously never worked slave wage in your life. I did. A lot. And it has nothing to do with lack of education or lazyness and it is not as easy as it seems. They don't just poor coffee, there are other tasks to be done that the client is never aware of. And if your goal in life is to open a restaurant, working in that environment is essential to learning the trade and the skills needed to operate such an establishment. The client is NOT always right. The client must FEEL like he/she is always right. And some clients you just don't want as clients anyway... If someone cannot afford a higher education, in order to acquire skills to move up in life, one needs those low wage jobs. Like you kinda said, anyone can and will get hired with minimum effort for those jobs however, staying there long enough to learn something is a different matter. I can tell you from experience that those jobs are grueling and those who work them simply cannot just leave, for financial reasons mostly so when the manager is a back orifice as well, it makes everything so much harder and nobody needs that. When you work those jobs, you are basically stuck there until something better comes along(which is rare) or you manage to get out of a "temporary situation"(like going to school at the same time). And what makes these employees' action commendable is that they actually got out.
  21. I liked Natalie in everything I saw her in except, of course, the obvious...
  22. My second choice for moving away from stupid Canada would be Norway. I heard it was one if not the best run country in the world. Everything works there. Anyone has any thoughts on Norway? Besides the cold of course.
  23. For 2 families? Seems to me if you don't experience it yourself it's pretty much useless, no? It's like watching sports on TV.
