It's awesome. Big AoE and long duration. Especially good for fighters, rogues and barbs with on-crit effects. The high ACC of fighters and rogues often lead to a crit when casting this - prolonging duration even further. Also Prestigitator's Missiles are good now. They work with Penetrating Shot and Driving Flight (maybe even with stunning shots?) and can do some nice damage on low DR foes. They also work with Deep Wounds. Maybe Sneak Attack also gets applied. Good for chars with guns if they need to fire off a shot now but are still reloading.

Sworn Enemy instantly applies it's effects on an enemy. The missiles take some time to reach the target and then the rolls are made (miss/graze/hit/crit, damage roll and so on). So I see no reason why Wrath of the Five Suns shouldn't profit from Sworn Enemy. It should behave like any other Missile Spell. I think with these improvements Pallegina turns from an OK companion to one of the best. There's also a priest spell, spelltongue and a mage spell that prolong buff durations (besides INT) - so maybe you can stretch that +20% attack speed buff from Pallegina. I would like it even better if the duration was even shorter but attack speed and reload speed would be buffed by +70% instead.

merchant buybacks
Boeroer replied to crutchy's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Would be really cool if you could give items, esp. uniques, to your stronghold merchant and he tries to get some other ones (uniques - also rare creature parts and stuff) in exchange. Or if you could just build a gallery, put your trophies in there (heads of bosses, unique items you don't use) and host some exhibitions. Would give lots of prestige I assume... -
Blunderbusses

Do you mean unique blunderbusses? Then what PJ said. -
And I would like to recommend some punctuation. Not only for rogues - but in general. Every class can be improved with some solid, conservative punctuation. A sabre and a small shield are a good setup for a rogue. You don't loose a lot of DPS if you don't go for all the "Full Attack" abilities but gain a lot of survivability.

Maaaan! I was just playing 6 barbs with disorienting and proning weapons, lowering defenses to zero because of this stacking and doing crits all the time. It was hilarious - and you destroyed it! Well - it was inevitable I think... But you have to stack quite some attack speed for this. I would leave it as it is. It's just powerful with a barb because of carnage. In 3.0 beta it still stacks by the way. Also from different sources (White Spire + Vile Loner e.g.) - hope that this last point will not change!

Argh! OK - back to Wrath of the Five Suns: I just read that damage is per projectile - and there are five of it. That's not crappy at all! Esp. with 10 DR bypass. Wonder if Penetrating Shot works. You could give her Prestidigitator's Missiles and some Spell Binding items with Minor Missile and a Blunderbuss and make her Mage Killer No. 1.

Generally speaking: Vulnerable Attack obviously gets better the faster you hit. That's because it's like a flat +5 damage bonus instead of the usual percent based modifiers. You should do the math with a DEX score of 20 and see what happens. If your attacks (doesn't matter if with lashes or however) do more than 5 damage in the time that Vulnerable Attack slows you down - then don't take Vulnerable Attack. If your Attack Speed is >2.19 then it's obvious that you should use Vulnerable Attack because it doesn't slow you down. Besides that: your math looks right (without armor).

I always beat Firkraag with the mage spell "Wizard Eye". He would detect it and attack it forever. It was unvulnerable, so...

Damage Stacking...?
Boeroer replied to nerdnr1's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
These numbers all apply to the base damage of the weapon. If a weapon would do 100 damage and you had +15% from weapon specialisation, you would do 100 + 15 = 115 damage. If you also had Savage Attack (+20%), you would do 100 + 15 + 20 = 135 damage. With Two Handed Style on top you would do 100+15+20+15=150. And so on. -
Well you can (or could?) cheese of course: Arcane Dampener and then cause prone/stun and so on. Priest with Repulsing Seal and a ring with Arcane Dampener for the win! Should also work with the ranger's stunning shots - as long as your pet doesn't die instantly from a heart attack by looking at the dragon.
