  1. Yes, you need to read the stuff. Else no fitting dialogue options.
  2. A ranger can achieve a good crit rate - but later than the rogue. And Borresaine comes fairly early. Rogue with Borresaine is nice. Good decision I guess. A ranger is only half as good if you don't use the pet at all.
  3. Skald + barb could be a thing. Not only because of RP reasons, but because a barb can cause a lot of crits with one swing (especially if helped by CC guys). This might lead to plenty of phrases and a lot of invocations being cast. Imagine a Berserker standing in the midst of it all, swinging away and then letting out Seven Nights all the time...
  4. Exactly. Or like I said: priest if the MIG bonus stacks with Minor Avatar. Imagine Shining Beacon with +18 or even +20 MIG.
  5. But this you can counter with Iron Wheel I guess...? If there's still Triumph of the Crusaders in the game then he will have no problems...
  6. Yes, it sounds like a great subclass for a Fire Godlike and to multiclass it with a priest in order to stack the MIG bonus with Aggrandizing Radiance + Minor Avatar, or with a Berserker or Streetfighter.
  7. Actually I played Durance like this (and do it again atm for my last playthrough). Three arquebuses and then summon Firebrand. It's a lot of fun with Dire Blessing and Aggrandizing Radiance + Minor Avatar. Since I seldomly use restoration spells with a priest anyway that's fine. Getting access to wizard's fire spells is not bad I think. That way you can have one good fire spell in every level. Priests usually get the good fire spells later while wizards can start with them. Why not combine those advantages and have a priest who can cast useful fire spells in every level?
  8. I really don't like Original Sin's camera and the whole 3D frills (I also don't lie the looks, but usually I can just ignore that and be happy). I tried to play it, spend dozens of hours generating my characters (another thing I don't like too much is that you start with two) - and it took me sooo long to adapt to the camera and controls. Sure, I'm getting older and those things take longer for me than when I was younger - still annoying. Then you can't highlight containers and I had to constantly hover over the floor not to miss them all the time... I stopped playing just because I started to hate the camera and the controls so much. Funny because normally I like turn-based rpgs (anyone tried Blackguards? It's not too great but I still like it) and even some other 3D action rpgs with candy-graphics like Torchlight and so on. This one was a huge disappointment for me. Damn I backed OS II... I had the same issues with Dragon Age: Origins, but I got around it and adapted more quickly and then I enjoyed it immensely. But this time I either didn't have the time or the patience to adapt to this (in my opinion) fiddly mess.
  9. I really hope that the ogre levels with you, can profit from self buffs like Martial Power and maybe even retains the weapons (armor and headgear might be suicidal ). Otherwise it would only be a nice gimmik at game start and then it would be moot. Like the ranger's pet and druid's spiritshift were in PoE1 until they patched them. Cool builds you could do if that ogre form was implemented properly: Ogre/monk, ogre/barb, ogre/beckoner (having your own ogre clan) even ogre/shapeshifter. Awesome idea to give the Transmuter this ability. Hopefully it's not poorly done. But will will have the beta to test this...
  10. I hope not: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goedendag It means "Good Day" in many germanic languages such like Dutch, Low German (Plattdeutsch), Flemish and so on. I don't know if Josh's "Godandag" was inspired by then term "Godendag" though. But since he knows german...
  11. It simply does more dps, even without Predator's Sense. Borresaine is nice and all and I like it on a cipher for example (because wounding does nothing for focus generation while war bows can punch through higher DR more easily) or on a rogue because of the stun on crit, but for a ranger Persistance is simply better - also on lower lvls or gainst foes with high defenses because it's "reliable". It's a good enchantment while you use Swift Aim or Twinned Arrows which lower your ACC.
  12. Why don't you withdraw Kana with a priest? Best trick against dragons in my opinion: untouchable while dealing damage. Yes, marking even works if you are not in melee range. You just need to command the attack and it's on. It's awesome.
  13. What is a CC ranger? If your primary purpose is CC, then better not bring a ranger. If you want to combine good ranged weapon dps and great CC, take a cipher instead. Works great with Stormcaller, too.
  14. I would take Persistance instead of Borresaine. Better dps and constantly triggers Predator's Sense (which I would recommend).
  15. I sense the answer's right here... No, that's the answer to the question "Why Versus Evil?", not "Why not Paradox?". A girl breaks up with you and later has a new boyfriend. When asked why she chose him she says "because he's sooo handsome". That doesn't mean that you look like Sloth from The Goonies and that this was the reason why she broke up. Maybe you just had cheesy feet...
  16. For me no doubt Stormcaller. Take Swift Aim + Driving Flight and later retrain from Swift Aim to Twinned Arrows.
  17. What do you mean? It works with any weapon focus, but you need to take one if you want to get +6 ACC. You could also take WF Adventurer and use a war bow until you get Stormcaller. But if you want to stick to a hunting bow until you find it then WF Peasant will be your best pick. Edit: those ninjas these days...
  18. Na. Always this duplicating. I would take Tall Grass and then Llawran's Stick (has speed) with shocking lash (just because it fits) and Durance's Staff as backup for when you meet crush resistant/immune foes(two damage types). Llawran's stick is really fast if you combine it with things like Frenzy, Swift Strikes or Swift Aim. A barb is also not too bad with Jena's Lance. Grazes with Carnage suck and the lance prevents some. Also the +1 CON stacks with every other CON bonus.
  19. Yes, 4 is a bit messy indoors. 3 is my prefered number of (non reach) melee guys. 4 or more can be nice though if you like to spread out.
  20. Yes. And Devotions + Zealous Focus stack with Inspiring Radiance. You can also cast Dire Blessing (+20% hit to crit rate). So it's possible to get a great crit rate even on a paladin on PotD. Also, if you use FoD (+20 +1 ACC per level) and then Sworn Enemy (+15 ACC) you should be able to generate some crits without the help of others in every encounter. Edit: well it's enough if the priest with Little Savior stays in the second row (casting) and uses his herald-aura on the frontliners.
  21. Depends. If you want to take out certain enemies quickly, then the rogue is better. "Escaping" to your target and killing it quickly while having +25 deflection can be very good. If you want to grind down whole groups, then barbarian is better. Both can be very effective with Tall Grass. The barb has the advantage of being a lot meatier after some levels - while the rogue does crit a lot more often which can lead to perma-prone. Actually now, after I wrote about it, I desperately want to try out a Slicken + Adept Evasion combo in my party. Why on earth didn't I think of this ealier...?
  22. Isn't Gimli a barbarian? I mean the only thing he's doing with his axe is cleaving around. And he gets thrown at his enemies (aka Dragon Leap). He's a messy eater as well...
  23. Don't forget stuck: -20 to reflex and deflection. Comes with your beloved Mental Binding as well.
