  1. Also new: reverse pickpocket your whole stash of 500 xaurip spears into a guard's pants.
  2. Circle of Protection stacks with nearly everything while things like Shields for the Faithful doesn't stack with other defection buffs. That's why CoP is a good spell and not a useless one. But yeah - I also don't use 75% of all priest spells in a playthrough, bit it depends how you play your priest. Spamming Iconic Projection is still good because it only has to overcome 1/4 of enemies' freeze DR. Used to ignore DR completely, but 1/4 is still not bad.
  3. Cool! But... am I stupid or is the png too small to read the numbers? Or maybe both? This is with Tidefall I presume? Would be nice to see this with dual Bittercut...
  4. Higher base damage? Ah - you mean because of 2 * base damage (Bittercut) compared to 1* base damage (Tidefall)? I did some calculations with Bittercut, Tidefall, Hours oSR, Firebrand and arquebus under normal conditions against 0, 10 and 20 DR and Kaylon is right: 2*Bittercut is overall the best option because it's hard to beat the two strikes with a lot of dmg bonuses + lashes - compared to one strike. Obviously: the higher the DR the smaller the gap. Against 30 DR Tidefall will be the better option I presume. Until late game, when you get access to powerful enchantments and durgan steel, Firebrand is number one (assuming you crit a lot with FoD). But for auto-attacks Tidefall is better. Also if you include Runner's Wounding Shot. Even Hours oSR is better at some point (enough speed) if you assume a decent crit rate. And the prone on crit is obviously very nice, too - since it leads to less damage that you get and more crits on the target. So all in all: if you combine all the damage you do during an encounter... maybe it doesn't matter that much?
  5. One thing to Circle of Defense: as far as I know it only does +15 to all defenses? However: it's short - but unlike other defensive buffs it stacks with most other things. So for example Outworn Buckler + Shields for the Faithful + Circle of Protection = +45 to deflection and +20 to all other defenses party-wide. Also the Shieldbearer's talent that raises deflection on kill and also Inspiring Triumph stack with everything. You can make a pretty sturdy party out of dps chars if you let your Shieldbearer kill stuff and have a priest at his side.
  6. You can give him more CON in the early game and retrain later. As soon as you have most of the accuracy-debuffs (dazing, frightening and so on) and a decent deflection you can lower your CON. And it doesn't have to be 3. In the early game your deflection is quite low that you can't tank very well because of health issues. Youc can also use potions of Infuse with Vital Essence to heal some health.
  7. Itumaak has the same base damage advantage a wolf has (+2). So the damage is comparable. Another nice alternative is the stag because it has mini-carnage once per encounter. Currently Sagani is in my party with Persistence and focus on pet damage (char lvl 8 ). So Itumaak nearly always has Predator's Sense enabled and also Merciless Companion because of Wounding Shot. Vicious Companion, too, of course. He's not the king of dps in general because he hits rather slowly, but boy is he great against enemies with very high DR like Adra Animats and stuff like that. Sometimes it's like "kill-bite - run to the next enemy - kill-bite" and so on. Also, he's a super-tank with Triumph of the Crusaders as long as he manages to kill stuff. That lingering spell heals him completely every time he kills an enemy. And since he has no health he can't die as long as he gets healed. I see some problems with this mechanics in Deadfire...
  8. Yes, wizards hat great summons (don't forget the tentacles that cause stuck on hit). If you're a blaster wizard you could enhance you performance even more with the summoning of yet another blaster wizard.
  9. Yes, but you can combine the abilites/spells of up to four classes - because some subclasses get access to spells of another class. Example: Priest of Berath/Trickster (I know, but just for the sake of it...) Priest of Berath can have priest spells and has access to certain druid spells. Trickster has access to rogue abilites and also gets access to the illusion spells of a wizard. So you CAN have the abilites/spells of four different classes combined in one character. If this makes sense or is viable is another discussion, but you can do it.
  10. Erm... it's MaxQuest who uploaded the videos and he's playing on PotD.
  11. Why would they do that when they removed such synergies from PoE on purpose (Novice's Suffering not working when shifted)?
  12. I don't doubt that it's a great game for most people. It only seems it's not great for me. It's not only the 3D stuff. I liked Skyrim very much for example. It's the whole package that somehow doesn't appeal to me. By the way I really loved the very first Divine Divinity game back in the days!
  13. We will have a ranger without permanent pet in PoE2:Deadfire, the "Ghost Heart Lodge" ranger. He can summon his deceased pet as a spirit - but he doesn't have to. So basically it's like chanter's or wizard's summons.
  14. Lots of small enemies with lowish defenses - no wonder. Did you use an overseeing item + Voice of the Mountaintop?
  15. Tehehe... I'm happily married to a gorgeous and smart woman. So it doesn't really matter how I look I guess. At least I have no smelly feet... But nice try.
  16. Yes, you need to read the stuff. Else no fitting dialogue options.
  17. A ranger can achieve a good crit rate - but later than the rogue. And Borresaine comes fairly early. Rogue with Borresaine is nice. Good decision I guess. A ranger is only half as good if you don't use the pet at all.
  18. Skald + barb could be a thing. Not only because of RP reasons, but because a barb can cause a lot of crits with one swing (especially if helped by CC guys). This might lead to plenty of phrases and a lot of invocations being cast. Imagine a Berserker standing in the midst of it all, swinging away and then letting out Seven Nights all the time...
  19. Exactly. Or like I said: priest if the MIG bonus stacks with Minor Avatar. Imagine Shining Beacon with +18 or even +20 MIG.
  20. But this you can counter with Iron Wheel I guess...? If there's still Triumph of the Crusaders in the game then he will have no problems...
  21. Yes, it sounds like a great subclass for a Fire Godlike and to multiclass it with a priest in order to stack the MIG bonus with Aggrandizing Radiance + Minor Avatar, or with a Berserker or Streetfighter.
  22. Actually I played Durance like this (and do it again atm for my last playthrough). Three arquebuses and then summon Firebrand. It's a lot of fun with Dire Blessing and Aggrandizing Radiance + Minor Avatar. Since I seldomly use restoration spells with a priest anyway that's fine. Getting access to wizard's fire spells is not bad I think. That way you can have one good fire spell in every level. Priests usually get the good fire spells later while wizards can start with them. Why not combine those advantages and have a priest who can cast useful fire spells in every level?
  23. I really don't like Original Sin's camera and the whole 3D frills (I also don't lie the looks, but usually I can just ignore that and be happy). I tried to play it, spend dozens of hours generating my characters (another thing I don't like too much is that you start with two) - and it took me sooo long to adapt to the camera and controls. Sure, I'm getting older and those things take longer for me than when I was younger - still annoying. Then you can't highlight containers and I had to constantly hover over the floor not to miss them all the time... I stopped playing just because I started to hate the camera and the controls so much. Funny because normally I like turn-based rpgs (anyone tried Blackguards? It's not too great but I still like it) and even some other 3D action rpgs with candy-graphics like Torchlight and so on. This one was a huge disappointment for me. Damn I backed OS II... I had the same issues with Dragon Age: Origins, but I got around it and adapted more quickly and then I enjoyed it immensely. But this time I either didn't have the time or the patience to adapt to this (in my opinion) fiddly mess.
