As a Helwalker/Priest of Berath (or whatever god) you can make use of Barring Death's Door. This would work well with a Death Godlike since his racial ability kicks in when he's low on endurance. Death Goldlikes' can look like demons... especially if you pick the Aumaua body shape. I sad Berath just because of the summoned great sword.

As I said before: subclasses don't have unique passives except the starting ones. I don't believe that Obsidian will make an exception just for one priest subclass. Priest of Skaen do get unique actives though - maybe one grants temporary Sneak Attack as a buff, who knows?

Rogue because it's superpopular. High (perceived) dps is always cool and popular. And if something's popular chances are higher that you hear something about it. I found barb, monk and chanter (way) easier in PotD solo games. Especially monk. Paladin is superboring solo. But doesn't really matter. To each their own. -
No, I meant exceptions from general rules (like "all passives stack") are bad. Newbies or not. It leads to a system where you can't predict the outcome of your actions. I would have no problem if Skaen's Prey on the Weak stacked with rogue's Sneak Attack. But I would have a problem if one passive supresses the other because it would be a violation of a general rule of Deadfire. And you can see where such things lead in PoE - you have to read a whole subforum for years to know all the "exceptional" mechanics.

[BB update 3/BB4] Confounding blind
Boeroer replied to kmbogd's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
In PoE I achieved negative defenses on enemies in an AoE with a barb + dual disorienting weapons before that got nerfed. But those negative defenses (and also DR) did nothing (internally capped at 0). Just the UI showed the sub-zero values. I guess it's the same here (but don't know - didn't test). You can see what happens if yopu check the actual hit roll in the combat log (hover over the hit and press shift - you can see the resolved roll with the used deflection value). -
That is correct. It's just a design decision I agree with. An upgrade to Mith Fyr (so that it helps all damage) is a nice idea. Also a passive for casters that would add a lash (or some ohter benefical effect) to spell damage would be nice. I like clear, easy to understand effects/abilites - and many of them.

Yes, that was my saying as well. I mean the part where single class rogues would benefit from a scaling Sneak Attack with Power Level - because in the late game static 50% damage bonus doesn't really cut it. I also said that we can't know which great stuff might await the high level rogue - like an upgrade of Sneak Attack or some AoE stuff or a posionous lash ability or whatever. I didn't really argue with you. I just agreed to somebody else's opinion and explained why I think rogues were underperforming in mid to late game PoE on PotD - and that I hope the same doesn't happen to Deadfire's (single class) rogues. I had the impression you wanted to argue about it, not me. Which I have no probolem with of course. I mean why not? -
But then Eternal Flames would be better than the FoD strike itself, which would be weird. And also way better than Shared Flames. I think it was the right decision to remove spells from Mith Fyr. Instead they should have put some nice passives for spells.

Wait - people really use the report button?

Wounding of Boar spiritform stack with itself
Boeroer replied to dunehunter's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
Eh - first you have to be lvl 20 for PL 9 and have 35 MIG and INT. Meanwhile the two Bleak Walker/Assassins did their assassination sneaky thing and dealt 300 damage each at the start of the battle with no buffs. -

Except Barbs optimized for HoF and Priests optimized for Shining Beacon I think so. But I guess that also highly depends on how you play. If you like to stretch your party (and the enemy) over the whole battlefield and like to pick off casters with a rogue or fighter or monk then maybe not. AoE is only good if you can hit a lot of enemies with it. -

Well I talked explicitly about mid to late game and already said that early game is good with the rogue. No DoTs were/are logged in PoE if I remember correctly. Might be wrong though. I never paid much attention to that part of the sheet. Things that didn't get logged were Soft Winds, Dragon Thrashed and pet damage. Priest's pillars spells, Iconic Projection, Storm of Holy fire and so on do get logged. So maybe that's why your priest has damage on the sheet. MaxQuest's mod is an eye-opener by the way. It's enlightening to see a ranger's damage added with his pet damage - or the insane damage boost a chanter gets with Dragon Thrashed. -
They cannot because you would get both automatically (there are no unique passives that you can pick during level ups - subclasses' bonuses are all starting abilites) and taking one away when multiclassing would be weird. Both would stack because they are both passives. Exceptions from this rule would be bad for the whole game. So better to give the Priest of Skaen something else that fits instead of trying to fiddle something together I think. I personally also wouldn't mind if both would stack on a rogue/skean priest - I mean soul whip + sneak attack also stack - but obviously Obsidian didn't want this.
