They should take the same patching route as in PoE when it comes to rangers: make the animal companion better. First step should be to raise the base damage. It's just too low. Then suddenly abilities like Vicious/Merciless Companion and Predator's Sense will have the impact they had in PoE (and where the animal companion could hit slowly but like a truck after some patches). I wonder why they returned to puny base damage for Deadfire in the first place? Some abilities of the animal companion are already great. Try to open combat with Takedown Combo + Ranger/Assassin from stealth. I should really do Stalker/Assassin next...

Exactly. Same with German. If you are asking about a parrot whose name (species) is "Norwegian Blue" you would ask: "Do you have a Norwegian Blue [parrot]?" --> "Haben Sie einen Norwegischen Blauen [Papagei]?" or "Haben Sie einen Norwegischen Blauling?" The last one is the official German translation from the Monty-Python sketch.

Fist are surely a nice option. But some enchantments are really nice - fists can't have those. Take Magistrate's Cudgel or Sun & Moon for example. Also the fists' modal is bad while those of clubs, swords and flails are pretty good or even awesome. And fists only have crush damage. However I was replying to a guy who can't stand the looks of fist + shield. Had nothing to do with dps etc.

Did you try Citzal's Spirit Lance with Instruments of Pain? Especially when at +10 INT? It's quite awesome. Instruments of Pain works extremely well with reach weapons. The melee weapon will get +500% range (=10.8 meters). Reach weapons already have 1.8 meters - so you end up with a long range, big AoE nuke with good speed and damage and only need to spend 1 spell use. And it also transports proc effects.

Good question. You are right: there are differences in the stun duration. But it never seems to miss. I'm reliably stunning Steelclads with 120 Fortitude while I have 64 ACC. Also the description of Charge mentions not attack roll. Stunning Blow works with ranged weapons. Like in PoE. The term "blows" may indicate something else - but I mean look at Barbaric Blow/Smash and Wounding Shot. So hand mortar etc. is a nice option because of AoE. For me personally Wahaī Pōraga works even better with Stunning Surge (because of Swift Flurry and Heartbeat Drumming). And also stuff like Force of Anguish and Skyward Kick are hilarious with it.

Yeah - sometimes it's even fun to use such stuff. Like I really liked my scroll abusing rogue in PoE (Deathblows + Maelstrom, Deep Wounds + Concussive Missiles... whew). But overall I think it's best for the game and the majority of players if scrolls and potions are not outshining everything you can achieve with actual abilities. It just feels so cheap to "buy" all that power while building your character into another direction (for example build a supertank with zero offensive capability when it comes to abilities but then boost arcana and destroy everything with scrolls while you can't be scratched).

Base ACC is 20 as for all other classes. Firebrand scales with level, giving you appropriate ACC bonuses, Ring gives you +10 ACC with Firebrand and fire spells, FoD even +10 more. Zealous Focus gives you bonus ACC, stuff like Sunbeam and Nature's Mark lowers defenses. How do you have accuracy issues with this general idea and with which ones you haven't?

If you want to stack max DoTs on targets (and that is really, really powerful with light/fast weapons against single targets that are way above you level) you need Crippling Strike, Gouging Strike, Ring the Bell, Toxic Strike - this is really good with long durations/high INT (and Deep Wounds as passive). Stacking different DoTs with AoE weapons is extremely good as well (Hand Mortar, Fire in the Hole, WotEP, Wahaī Pōraga, Frostseeker, Citzal's Spirit Lance, Minor Blights and so on). If you don't want to then I agree that there's little reason to take a lot of actives for a rogue. Persistent Distraction + Crippling Strike for unlocking Deathblows and you are good to go.
