  1. From a logistical / design point of view, I actually wonder what this means. I'm not saying they're wrong, of course, but on the surface it doesn't look like the claim is valid, which is precisely why I'd like to know the reasoning behind it.Consoles and controllersThat was not one of the reasons they mentioned. Can't say if they had this in mind, but I think 6 or 5 party members doesn't make a big difference for a controller.
  2. I wouldn't be so sure. It's quite OP because it affects the whole party (as long as they are in your chant range). Make 5 chars with reloading weapons and you'll see why it's maybe too much.
  3. When? During game development? That would be retarded. Putting UI before design is like... new low. Plus it's not like they didn't make any game with 6 party members before. I really despise the use of the word "retarded" in such a way. It's certainly not a good way to communicate if you really want a reasonable answer - at least from me. But if that wasn't your goal in the first place then ok. But no. Your conclusions are wrong. The reason for 5 party members was that in PoE and Deadfire there are a lot more active abilities for martial chars/classes and thus the management/visuals/etc. of encounters was a lot more cluttered than in the old Infinity games (where fighters etc. mostly used auto-attacks). That was one reason. There were more but that doesn't matter now. So... After that decision was made for Deadfire lots of people asked if it would be easy to mod the game so that you could have 6 party members. And the answer was that it's in fact pretty complicated because the whole UI (but also dialogue/banter/reactivity/xp gain maybe) was layed out for max 5 party members now. So a Berath's Blessing with 6 party members would require a lot of work and thus will most likely not make it. But it would be nice indeed.
  4. Toxic Strike with high INT and MIG and a AoE weapon (rod + Blast or mortars) helps immensely against high level enemies with tons of health. Apply it and go invisible and enemies will die quickly because the ticks increase in damage steeply - and high INT grants you additional ticks. High INT with Toxic Strike means you are looking at an an exponential dmg curve (in an AoE with the right tools).
  5. Yes, it gives you a 15% action speed bonus now. In addition to the +5 DEX inspiration it always had and which also gives you an action speed buff. The Streetfigter passive "Heating Up" is the ability that speeds you up the most. Also modals of Hunting Bow and Pistols do that same thing but come with ACC debuffs. Barbarian's Frenzy and Bloodlust do stack, so Barb is a good candidate for speed as well. You can imagine that a Berserker/Streetfighter with pistols can become a pretty fast (but rather inaccurate) gunslinger... Another thing that is often overlooked is that Sure Handed Ila is acually a 40% bonus rather than a 20% bonus with reloading weapons - because the bonus is applied twice for some reason. So Streetfigher/Chanter with pistols is also very fast.
  6. It's a ton of clicking, that's true. But I got really good at timing the clicks so that I don't have to see all that textual infos I don't need (for too long). Fire the cannons ---> clickclickclickclickclick ---> Jibe ---> clickclickclick --> Full Sail ---> clickclickclick -----> Hold Position ----> clickCLICKCKLICK!!! and so on. Because of that I can almost click as fast as in my best Diablo II days (where clicking manually led to faster attacks than holding the button down). Those great design features - make your fingers work out! Pianists do envy us...
  7. With auto-attacks the char will stay at range and only fire with the pistol. I can't remember what happens if you command a Full Attack - maybe it deopends which weapon is in your main hand. On the other hand when you are in melee range and use a Full Attack you will swing and fire. I didn't do a lot of testing with those setups lately - because it basically sucks in terms of (somewhat convenient) playability.
  8. Afaik multiple Ancient Memories stack. At least they used to. Exalted Endurance's and Ancient Memory's healing stack.
  9. Speaking of invisibility: There are stil cases where DoTs break invisibility. I remember using Nannasin's Cobra Strike and its poison breaks my invisibility. Bummer... If you max INT and take Smoke Veil then the late Pernicious Cloud might also be a good thing. At the moment it's crap because it hasd 0 PEN - but I reported that bug and QA said they are going to fix it. The numbers are quite good - and since you spend a point for Smoke Veil already...
  10. I'll do wild guesses and say that... - The new Monk is a sublcass that thrives on injuries. That'd make for a risky, thrilling playstyle. - And the rogue...? A fancy Duelist (better Riposte or something)? A Sapper (better explosives and traps)? A Juggler (gets increased range with all light melee weapons because he can throw them - a bit like Instruments of Death)? Andy, please don't post a if I'm not very close or too far off!
  11. I also found that Shadowing Beyond is a lot better than Smoke Veil. Even though it costs more Guile it's better for such builds. And PoSkean gives you two additional uses of it. The impact of the rel. long invisibility and 0 recovery is huge on enemies' AI and your flexibility. Slippers dito. You can easily reload or cast a spell while invisible. The enemy can't disturb you. Often I could walk away after killimg + turning invisible and the encounter resets, giving you back all resources. Rinse and repeat and the enemy group is gone. Takes a bit longer but is very safe and thrilling at the same time. Like playing "Thief (the game)".
  12. Well Andy... really... thank you for that teaser... YOU MOOONSTER!
  13. Actually an arqubus is much more fun than an axe - for me. Partly because of the no-recovery advantage of guns which makes you a lot more flexible (esacpe or get invisible instantly after attacks etc.), partly because the instant damage is very high and leads to quick death of a single enemy (Assassination+Backstab from stealth, very short reload because of stealth's recovery/reload bonus, followed by a Finishing Blow which kills the enemy, making you invisible because of your slippers, give you time for reload, repeat). For me it was not underwhelming. First of all you are still a priest with great party buffs and all. And then DPS is not everything - if you can't get targeted because you turn invisible after killing one single opponent that's very valuable. I killed the whole Concelhaut group enemy by enemy just with the Assassin/PoSkaen - while the rest of the party stood around the corner. I just didn't need them while "playing it safe". Axe + Bleeding Cuts is my go-to setup with Barbaric Retaliation though. Even non-unique superb axes do a better job than most other unique weapons with that combo.
  14. Hi, just a small tipp: People on smart phones and tablets can't read your words because the mobile forum theme has white background color.
  15. I only use the Enhanced UI mod because generally I don't like to mod the behaviour of a game too much. You will not have a common basis to discuss then. But UI mods are cool and this particular one is superb. Obsidian should put it into the code base of Deadfire.
  16. You can also use another shield or weapon. Great alternatives are: - Kapana Taga as weapon and shields like - Magran's Blessing - Cadhu Scalth - Bronlar's Phalanx Because the crush Riposte of Akola's Apex Ward is pretty wet-noodleish. But optically/thematically it's the best fit for anybody who wears Reckless Brigandine I'd say.
  17. One of the reasons why the German movie/film market is quite attractive for international companies: besides the sheer number of potential customers we have a very strong "localisation industry" so to speak. Sometimes (or let's say often) they overshoot - but usually they are doing a great job with synchronization and such. Very fitting voices, good technique and so on. Turns a lot of potential customers into actual ones I believe. Fun fact: there was a British series with Tony Curtis and Roger Moore called "The Persuaders!" that totally flopped in USA and was doing okish in Europe... but was very successful in Germany - because the studio that did the synchronization just thought "screw this script" and did its own "interpretation" of dialogue. They introduced so many jokes, word plays, tongue-in-cheek moments and so on that it sort of turned into a comedy series. My dad loved it but couldn't stand to watch more than one episode a week - just too silly. I guess these guys still tap each other on the shoulders for that coup. German synchronizers also did that with most of the Bud Spencer and Terence Hill movies, but to a lesser extend (also quite popular in Germany). So: I guess great idea by CPR to do a full polish VO of a dialogue heavy computer game. I read about it some years ago but forgot. Back then the costs in Poland may have been very low though so that this idea, while being great on its own (giving a lot of polish players who didn't speak English the opportunity to enjoy a nice game), could have led to a financial success as well. I think a full German VO of such a complex game (dialogue-wise) with known actors/speakers and also a Polish one nowadays (wages in Poland have been constantly climbing a lot since those days, especially since the introduction of the Euro) would be so expensive that it wouldn't be lucrative.
  18. This one may be more like Head, Chest, Intestines, Genitals, Knees and Feet. https://youtu.be/Xpt4j6CgqW4
  19. It's not that easy because they stated several times that 6 party members would require a lot of work on the UI. Besides that it could be a nice part of Berath's Blessings.
  20. Erm... isn't the whole SSS Forgotten Sanctum a huge dungeon? "Carved into the flesh of a sleeping god" 'n stuff? Edit: ehh, wrong DLC
  21. Sure... sure. But what I meant was: if it gives you a chill by looking at it... it's probably looking... cool?
