  1. It's because people who ascribe to some ideas and groups that aren't the norm are generally painted as the extreme. Democrats and Republicans can have nuance but Democratic Socialists have to be 100% socialist on everything and Libertarians have to be 100% libertarian on everything full stop.
  2. Happy anniversary!
  3. Like in Andromeda? I don't think I ever used it other than just testing it once. PS can you buy card packs? I didn't see anything about it but I mostly skimmed due to lack of interest
  4. MS could be doing another half hearted attempt at promoting Windows gaming but I highly doubt it.
  5. The fear in my household is real
  6. Loving Kauai so far but it's my first day so not really much to report on yet. The place we rented is literally steps from the water so we laid out on some lounge chairs just listening to the waves and counting the stars.
  7. Like it says on the tin. I'm looking to start a new game and I want to try the very worst multiclass combo.
  8. Our criminal justice system is generally terrible at reintegrating ex-cons. Well, it's pretty terrible in general.
  9. You don't have to look very hard to find complaints of Obama "ruling" by EOs. Most people I've talked to actually believed he had the most, if not in all US history then in recent history. Very few actually knew of the specific orders that they hated him for but it was usually the immigration or Fed minimum wage ones. Of course this probably says more about me and the folks that I know more than society as a whole. As to the Green votes in the Ohio special election, last I checked there weren't enough to change the lead but rather enough to trigger an automatic recount. I got a lot of heat last election for voting Green too even though my state went to Clinton but just like GD I don't think I would have changed my mind if my vote would have been the deciding factor. Wasn't that a Kevin Costner movie? Anyways, 3rd party voters make a better punching bag than the much larger group who don't bother to vote at all. Man, I updated my phone to the new Android P yesterday and my mobile posting has become exactly 37% worse
  10. Bush Sr is the only recent president to have less executive orders than Barry O and he only had one term Ronald Reagan 381 George H. W. Bush 166 Bill Clinton 364 George W. Bush 291 Barack Obama 276 Donald Trump 82 Trump could end up with less especially if he is a one term president
  11. They don't actually have any power to change it, it's just a recommendation
  12. I remember watching some Russian show that had Huge Actman on as a guest and he was trying to give the host a kiss. Found it. Who knew you could find this stuff on the line
  13. This made me think about this topic some more, well this and watching the TNG episode where Data plays the Strategema master. The goal of the AI doesn't need to be victory in every case, maybe the goal is just to counter whatever you do. Might be more difficult in certain types of games.
  14. Finally caught Ant-Man and the Wasp and loved it. Might have just been my mood but I hadn't laughed that much in a long time.
  15. Saw a preview for a show called God Friended Me and I'm getting major Early Edition vibes just updated with social media being the delivery method instead of the newspaper. Pass.
  16. I think it may be Toronto Is it supposed to be a thinly veiled 9/11 threat to Canada?
  17. I'm not an expert on AI or on the game mentioned in the article but I have a hard time believing there'd be no way to limit the AI's effectiveness or even for the AI to limit its own effectiveness given OpenAI's goal of safe AI. The comments of the article (sorry I didn't do any digging myself) already mention that the AI had some constraints like reaction time so I'd imagine you can build upon that. Also, I'd imagine that once the technology progresses further you'd not see SkyNet level AI in your games but rather something designed to give the player a meaningful (definitions may vary) challenge.
  18. Sorry for the potato resolution
  19. Here's a link with some info on it.
  20. The Captain Worf series was a separate pitch that Michael Dorn was trying to get going for the past 5 or 6 years Sorry, I couldn't help myself with this pic. Was my favorite part of Ted 2
  21. I don't think it will be an issue as long there are different difficulty settings.
  22. https://www.humblebundle.com/books/program-your-own-games-books New book bundle up on Humble about game development. No idea if they are any good because it's not my lane but might be worth a gander.
  23. It's been a while but if I remember correctly you should be good to about 300 feet
