There is a couple of couples () that would work very well. The paladin is pretty much a must, but since you can solo with any char ofc you can play without him. My personal Top 5 would be: 1. Paladin + Chanter Since you not only can build the chanter very tanky, but he also gets a great passive AoE attack with level 9, these two have the best synergy if you want low micro. Summons are also real handy in some situations and with level 13 you get a 30 pt damage shield which makes a tanky paladin invulnerable. 2. Paladin and Priest I only set this to 2, because of higher micro. This is the strongest combination I can think of. Priests buffs can make a solo priest very tanky, just think about what they do to the pala. Combine this with excellent cc and healing... 3. Paladin and Cipher. Once again,5 this could very well be top 1. With max level, this is easily Top 1 because of mindweb, but even before that the massive damage output and excellent crowd control of the cipher compliments the paladins tankiness, let's not forget the great supportspells of which the cipher also has a few. Pain link + Sacred Immolation seems to work even if the pala doesn't get hit by enemies the selfdamage seems to proc link. And many people might know how cheesy a cipher in stealth is, when Echo is activated. 4. Paladin and Ranger Really strong if you enjoy splitting large groups of enemies. Let the pet pull melees away from casters (or just split a large group of melees) and let the paladin tank them, while the ranger shoots. 5. Paladin and Wizard The wizard can tank as well as the paladin but needs spells for it and especially Arcane Veil is something you don't want to spam (short duration, per rest). A tactic I like with these two is have the wizard in a corner or behind a door and the paladin in front so melees can't reach the wizard. Activate parasitic staff and enjoy dat reach. You can save your defensive spells for encounters, where the terrain makes this impossible.

Paladin and Ranger are the best "broken" classes, they are way too easy to play for their solo power, while wizard might be a stronger class, but is a lot harder to play. Both wizard and paladin are played without kiting, while the ranger is awesome at the very thing. Thx.^^ I'm probably one of the biggest paladin enthusiasts out there, seeing the executioners hood in my current pt with 3 chars makes me want to start yet another solo pala, lol.

If by unbalanced you mean weak, then you are wrong. Also some cipher powers got strengthened and are lot of fun now, I use Silent Scream a lot for example and was awestruck today, when I saw I crit a dude for 95 dmg, he was also stunned for 20 secs and ofc that spell is AoE. So your general conclusion that the powers are unbalanced is not entirely right, the last patch saw to that. Most important for me is, almost every tier of cipher powers has at least 1 useful spell. The only tier I never use is the 2nd highest (V I believe).

Adra dragon's base attack targets deflection. But yeah, you are right you can get away with less deflection, as in comparison to breath and wing-slam attacks, it's melee damage is negligible (60-80 grazes before DR). I've killed adra dragon at level 11, with story companions. Without killing the adds first, charming/confusing/dominating the dragon. But I have paralized her twice, when needed time to revive and heal-up my companions. But with custom companions, and good execution, I suppose she could be slain as early as level 9 or even 8. (Without cc'ing her completely/pre-killing the adds) I thought this was about the alpine dragon?

I'm always mad at this game for iumproving the paladin more and more, so such a slight nerf isn't even worth thinking about. I took my solo paladin which who I beat ver 2.03 and gave him two hirelings for company to have an easier time beating 3.01. (Loaded a save previous to fighting Thaos) Now I found the executioners hood and am mad how much that improves a solo paladin again, endurance on kills (Sacred Immolation...) and accuracy bonus on enemy misses, lol. I think henever I solo this game paladin will taunt me to pick it a 3rd time.

I experienced, that the AI is not as great as everybody praises it. If you keep squishies in stealth and wait till all melees engage, there is only one type of melee enemy that will engage them, monks (or whatever they are) with that leaping attack. (where they kinda fall down from the sky ) Tested this with a party of 3 and 2 melee + one squishy cipher (3 con and res) and sometimes it's ridicoulus how close the cipher is to a huge mob of different melees and not get engaged. In that Bleak Walker quest of WM 2 I even had to watch the bleak walker disengage to cast healing chain and then run back and engage my paladin again...

Idk if anyone said that yet, buuuut NONE of the dragons attacks target deflection. With my solo paladin I actually respecced for less deflection and max Ref + Fort. If you get blinded or dazed remove that and don't get flanked or kill flankers quickly. Use boots of stability and ring of Thorns. (edit: and the belt for +3 con and helmet with +3 MI) If you ahve a party you might be able to do this at level 10 but since your wizard is 11 already you should be good.

Well, any sort of retaliation item would be a big help. I don't see barbs being all that good as abduction victims, because their forte isn't 1v1 combat. OTOH, 1v1 is where monks shine. However all this is kinda moot since the biggest problem facing any wraith abduction victim is being dazed (and possibly daze-locked) by the wraith, thus allowing the wraith to pummel the victim freely (barring the aforementioned retaliation items). Um, pala?

As probably the only person who was involved in it that is actually still active on this forum I have to ask.... What did you dislike about it so much? It was very modular, you could use as many, or as few, of it it's features as you wanted. All I used was the autosave functions, the fast sneak, and the UI (go fig). I did not dislike it I don't need any of the features. Most of them amke the game easier and it's already to easy.
