Solo play tips (not exploits (PoTD))
How come? "Untouchable" is untouchable solo or not. What strikes me that there are threads with sophisticated debates about balance, in which I do not really participate in as its not much of my concern, yet patch comes out with this. So either those who patch don't read those threads or there is no balance in them. Personally, it does not bother me. Wiz was strong before and more so now. But .. when I get chance at cheap shot, cant resist sometimes.

So this is .. fix? Balance and non cheese

[Class Build] Wizard Solo PotD
Check the solo thread pinned above. Either don't fight them or park your butt in corner left of entrance or I don't know. Used to take 4 Fan of Flames iirc. Personally, I never fight them anymore.

[Class Build] Wizard Solo PotD
Yeah, that sounds much better more balanced .. walk anywhere without anything being able to touch you. Chuck Norris mode. But God forbid figurines. Besides, I was playing pure caster before patch and quite do not get the veil buff. I was running around in clothing, level 9 at the moment, with 0 DR so I do not think I lacked defense. But whatever, what do I know.

[Class Build] The Dynamite Melee Wizard or TnT (1.05)
Indeed it can and probably will

[Class Build] The Dynamite Melee Wizard or TnT (1.05)
When I tried it, and my build was heavily tuned towards melee, the more I progressed in game where there were more difficult encounters, the more I was casting and less hitting. I mean realistically, for "each swing" with weapon caster can cast spell - there is no contest the way the game is designed. Unless melee Wiz is able to cut through multiple mobs with reasonable speed which was not close to reality in my experience.

Yeah looks and plays? Take it to those wolves. If you can do it safer and faster, more power to you. I will stick with AoE.

[Class Build] The Dynamite Melee Wizard or TnT (1.05)
As I said it allows for, it allowed for before. Question remains: Why? It viable but its weak in comparison to caster. By the time you finish pack of wolves with that powerful swing of magical staff, caster will be in tavern spending quality time with ladies.

Relative Pacifist Achievement :)
If you do the warehouse quest in Ondra's Gift first, you can side with the Doemels. In that case, you get offocially sent to the house in Copperlane. That might be the requirement to get this dialogue option or another way to not kill them - not sure. I was pretty sure that the only way to get to Doemels was through getting the letter and it was the last Doemels related task (delivery and task in Dyrford Village) I did because I did not want to fight them. I even had the jewel for the next task on me but could not start dialogue with appropriate NPC to join. Good to know it is not so, that's another 6? defeated less.

Relative Pacifist Achievement :)
I would if I remembered but I do not. Would need to replay the encounter*. The door even appear to be open while they are closed for all in-game purpose. But what is the problem exactly? Post screen shot? As far as I remember I managed to lure them to one part of the room, summoned something, SB and hid in another part of room. I do not remember the exact spots and timing but combat ended. --- edit: cant I tided up. Well, either you manage to replicate it or my claim will stay in realm of anecdotes

There are bugged doors or were prior to 1.05 so its not matter of Stealth but "outbugging" bug. I encountered the same issue as you describe, and needed to use SB 2x so I rested on 2nd floor iirc.

In progress patch notes for 1.0.5- big buff for Wizards and buff for Ciphers (lol...), a lot of strange nerfs to everything else, couple of fixes.
btw Obsidian could shut down soloing at wish by tweaking certain encounters. The point is, why should they bother? Soloing is out of question when it comes to balancing game. And if some players want to solo let them be whatever they use. This is no contest its adventure. Party based adventure so "balancing" has its context.

Depends. For it to trigger one needs to wear item with it which may but does not have to be desirable. Summons do the same and they are desirable. But yes, I was pondering about it when I got loading screen "you have died" while my character standing around thanks to Second Chance. In the later stages of the game you might indeed want to switch your second chance gear for something else. Early on however, it is great a boon. Agreed since Edér gives up his armor so early and so easily

These are talents, abilities and equipment before Thaos fight. --- --- Honestly, I did not plan for it much and it was also my first shot at end game, solo or otherwise. I got impatient and said to myself .. lets try it with what I have. Even the Gaze trap I picked up in Dyrford ruins and potions crafted with what I had on me. Same with weapon and armor. Those are drops along the way, no premeditated products of my mind.

I do not think so, not more than me Joking aside, Cripple will not cripple you nor Deep Wounds. They actually may come handy in final fight. If you do it with party I do not think you need extra slots. I had them for figurines and potions. The thing is, if you take party with you, you will probably (inevitably?) kill more than if you go alone as other members of your party cant benefit from certain techniques (SB + decoy) you could use alone. However, if only < 175, not minimum, is your goal, then you should be fine even with party I guess.

http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/78050-pazifism/ --- edit: not sure why Deep Wounds and even Cripple as the goal is to avoid fights not to win them. You may want to consider Deep Pockets. I do not think I could win the final fight without it.

Unique Robe for a Wizard?
I am lead to believe that best robe for Wizard is robe with 0% penalty so essentially naked. However, stat bonuses are neat so enchant some clothing to +2 whatever stat is preferred. Who needs robes? That 6? DR does nothing, literally.

lol just lol

[Class Build] The Dynamite Melee Wizard or TnT (1.05)
The only "problem" with this build is that it will be much less efficient at eliminating enemies than caster. You can build it like that, you can play it like that, you can beat PotD solo like that but caster can do it too and with much less bother.

PotD Solo druid
Be hardcore, go for Nature Godlike Its not gonna break you or make you as you will pick you fights wisely anyway. Druid can tank, have decent deflection and DR, but has so good spells that its sin not to use them. Doing it without figurines is beyond hardcore and Druid has means to buff and heal summons. Casting tank. --- edit: wolf for knockdowns

beginner's concerns (quest order, weapons)
Finish 'Never Far from the Queen' but do not finish all 3 main quests following it yet. Finish first side quests in Defiance Bay. That is the only order I can think of given your question. Money will be plenty, so enchant at will, just watch upgrade spots for future/final upgrade. Named Weapon Locations - http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/74340-named-weapon-locations/ If you enchant it will be sufficient without unique weapons some of them are quest rewards.

Does a lack of hard-counters/immunities help anything?
Full immunity would force player to adjust, to be flexible. Hypothetical Fire Wizard a) does not exist, not here nor in IE games, as there are always other spells b) well, if one choses to be specialized it implies limitations by definition. Its not like specialization has only advantages. All this exists in context. There is nothing wrong with meeting golems for first time only to find out that your weapons cant hurt them and you need to figure out a puzzle. Fail of Ages was fun puzzle. There is also nothing wrong with picking 2H at level 1 and killing boss with 2H level 12 without ever being forced to switch because nobody is immune, game is not too difficult and buffs/debuffs will do the job regardless. I guess it could be argued that system with no immunities adds to replay ability as its not possible, as mentioned in OP, to figure out the puzzle to trivialize encounters. Question is, if encounters, and essentially whole game play, are not trivialized even without immunities because there is nothing forced upon player, nothing to solve.

Best Accessories
Both rings (of Wizardry) are to my knowledge not random drops. One can be bought in Copperlane market and the other, as mentioned above, is in Pearlwood Bluff in cave.
