Calisca and Heodan don't always argue?
Some of the traps require 2 or 3 mechanics and give more XP. The weaker traps that require 1 mechanics lead a path through the bridge.

Calisca and Heodan don't always argue?
The XP for the traps changes depending upon how many are in your party. There is no extra. Just like the XP from Sweynurs quest and after resting the first time in gilded vale then talking to the hanging Valian dwarf witch.

Mechanics needed to get all Durgan ingots in wm1, 2?
Very doable at level 11.

Calisca and Heodan don't always argue?
I was wondering what his stats are? His equipment? Same with Sparfel...

Help Designing a Melee Cipher Build
In my first couple playthroughs before fully grasping the game mechanics I absolutely dreaded forest lurkers. It was always game over once I engaged. Now their gravy, even at lvl 3-4.

Help Designing a Melee Cipher Build
I have picked up a sabre in the Valewood. There are some random items in the bandit camp where you save the dwarven cook. I haven' figured out how it correlates to your MC, if it does at all, or if it is totally Random.

Calisca and Heodan don't always argue?
Yep... it kills the RP element. Plus Eder has similar stats plus a nice early game armor and quest XP to grab. She is nicer too look at but otherwise Eder and his funny commentary is the better choice. Heodan on the other hand is a nice early Rogue if you don't want to use hirelings. But still not optimal with lack of story and quest XP. Rather build a hireling. Can you add any other other Caravan NPCs with the console? Like Odema?

Calisca and Heodan don't always argue?
Console still works. It's the only option on keeping them.

When to go for DR Penetration vs Big Damage
Question about talents/abilities in general. When you trigger Frenzy how long of a wait is it? Or better yet... how long does it delay you when initially triggered at combat start? I was thinking when I trigger Frenzy everyone is rushing forward while I'm standing still. How many attacks am I losing. Those initial attacks can be huge if you are using weapons that include CC effects.

Pleading for Rogue buff once more
Fair enough. I have used multiple Rogues in a Party in PotD with no pure tanks in the party. They breeze through most of the encounters. Yes the party struggled with some of the Highest level content but it was not that difficult to overcome. Barb's suffer in those encounters as well. If OBS never patches the game again it will not stop me from using Rogues and thoroughly enjoying them. I am not against Rogue tweaks but I am more than satisfied by their current state. I can see tweaking them leading to OP status. Slippery slope....plus you class builders will find a loophole to abuse minutes after patch release and race to be the first to post it....

Pleading for Rogue buff once more
Rogue's do not need to be buffed, They work out just fine in party or solo mode. They hit hard and flee. That's what a Rogue does. In any non PotD setting their survivability is not a issue. On PotD it is a challenge. But isn't that what PotD is, a challenge? Why make changes to a class to make the toughest difficulty setting easy to overcome. Kind of defeats the purpose in my book. Most of the game Rogue is a top damage dealer. Only when you meet optimum level/talent/ability/weapon combination at the very end of the game are you really seeing a difference. That difference isn't that much compared encounter challenges. Changing how backstab/invisibility works could be tweaked, but there is no need to change Rogue itself. I have tried Dual Sabres, Axes, Stillettos, Two handed Swords, Pistols, Blunderbuses, Bows.... all weapons basically with a Rogue. In all setup styles. They deal good damage with all weapon types in many different ways. This game has SO many types of combinations that the Devs have zero chance of making each class do comparable damage and still fulfill a plethora of different roles.

Pallegina 28 Might for Steadfast without Priest
I fully understand. I could never come to terms with using the MP option in BGII to create six characters. I needed the in game NPCs to make my playthroughs more enjoyable. We all have our little idiosyncrasies we just can't avoid. Good luck!

Pallegina 28 Might for Steadfast without Priest
Doesn't a Chanter have a buff that adds +5 to Might? For RP reasons bringing a priest henchman in cost money. Look at it as paying for his services....?

White March question
Blades of Vanatar replied to PangaeaACDC's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I'm currently tackling it on PotD at level 12. I find the outlying area not so tough but I'm sure once I go inside things will be different. Never tackled it with a a Chanter in the party so I am certainly looking to use a defensive mindset to let Dragons Thrashed and some Ogre Minions into the mix. Dragons Thrashed really melts the opposition.

Paladin stats RP/mechanics mix advice?
Agreed. In the case of meatloaf, it's always better on day 2.

Paladin stats RP/mechanics mix advice?
It's funny that casserole adds intelligence. Casserole is usually a jumble of leftovers. The wise would leave it untouched!

The dozen or so constructs in Galvino's lab
Blades of Vanatar replied to PugPug's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)True enough. I am only looking at it from the in game NPC options perspective. Yes, Aloth, Kana and Grieving Mother easily can do the job, but I wouldn't want to waste points in mechanics just to then add a better thief. I know you can respec, but for me that is an option I think kills the game. I have only used it in solo and I felt cheap for doing it. But to each their own in that regard. Respec is a great option for testing builds.

The dozen or so constructs in Galvino's lab
Blades of Vanatar replied to PugPug's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)This leads to the other issue I have with this game... lack of NPCs. I like the options of the BG games. I think we got shorted in that department. Otherwise this is still an excellent game. My personal favorite game since the BG series.

The dozen or so constructs in Galvino's lab
Blades of Vanatar replied to PugPug's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)No, were talking about adding DoC here. This conversation has nothing to do with pre WM. If anyone wanted to add her it would be logical they want to use her as their Rogue. Not as their scroll reader.

PotD Solo Run
Barb is my new favorite. Heavy Armour, high Str, Con and Int. Tidefall early, respec to dual later for boss weapons when they become available.

The dozen or so constructs in Galvino's lab
Blades of Vanatar replied to PugPug's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Anybody for mechanics? Na...... I'm sure they were thinking most people would use the classes with starting points in Mechanics and since Rogue is the class starting with the most it is logical that it lead to a Rogue.

De-cipher
Blades of Vanatar replied to migelo's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Bulwark, Mirror Image and Fan of Flames got my solo Wizzy thru at Level 4 while wielding Hatchet and Larder's Door. If you wait to Level 5 Expose Vulnerbilities is your friend in a Party game.

The dozen or so constructs in Galvino's lab
Blades of Vanatar replied to PugPug's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The point is if you are going for DoC to add to the party I would think that your party design in mind would be for DoC to be your trap springer. So to design a heavily trapped area requiring high mechanics to get her kind of sucks. I was disappointed in that regard. Love the story of Galvino and DoC though.... also love DoC as a companion. I prefer to dual Battle Axe her while choosing crit maxing talents/abilities. Blender...
