Game music
1. The opening theme for MGS2 is one of my favourites. and the electric guitar remix they have for it in snake tales for MGS2:Substance compliments it well. 2. I usually turn off teh gaming music because it usually gets annoying to me. it sometimes feels like they are trying to be epic all of the time, but i don't want it to be like that. and the volume also gets really really loud sometimes and that is annoying too 3. although, today, randomly when i was randomly replaying a random part of K2, i came across the Iziz City Cantina music which i found to be extremely entertaining, even though it is less than a minute long and loops forever, but i could listen to that for days before it got old. 4. Final Fantasy games always seem to have good musical scores. 5. and simple things like the astrolander or anaconda themes from the minigames in timesplitters 2 are always enjoyable and fun to listen to while you play them. 6. i just remembered the techno music in red alert 2, that stuff is all classic.

KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
I think this was the idea he was getting at: doing anything in attempt to atone for the atrocity that is K2 would only make it worse. i personally don't hold that opinion, but i simply felt like answering the question.

I want that blade back -
does anyone know if TSL restoration mod will allow you to get your lightsaber back? it would be a lot of work probably for the modders, but you could have the exile with a few options for things to say and then it would show the defeated Atris and she would not say anything, then either she would stab the lightsaber at you (like the exile does when he throws it away to the council) and then it ends the conversation and returns to the player's control, or after showing a silent shot of defeated Atris the screen goes black and fades back to the player control and then you would have the new item icon pop up with your lightsaber.

Comment on Obsidian Entertainment
i think not having the HD DVD for the games is one of the bigger mistakes they made with the 360. it'll be fun to have a 4 disc final fantasy again though EDIT: whoops, sorry, thread derailment. ummm, obsidian entertainment is good good. i appreciate their endeavors in making sequels to games made by other developers, and i note that they have, for the most part, shown themselves worthy to do so.

GameSpot's Best and Worst of 2005 Awards!
it's lucky for me too, since the xbox is all i've got for means of a gaming system.

midichlorians
What i understood "midichlorians" to be were energy type particles of no mass that flow through everything and basically allow everything to exist. They have always seemed to have a "personality" or something, like how they "impregnate" Shmi Skywalker (stolen from Jesus' birth of a virgin, anyone? just noting that) I never liked the midichlorian aspect of SW, because i think it conflicts with my beliefs in God. Although, this is not surprising, since a lot of things conflict with my beliefs in God.

FF7 Advent Children
I thought the art direction was what the movie was all about. I'm not ripping on the story or anything, but it certainly wasn't as captivating as the amazing computer generated images. Of course, i never played the game so it doesn't mean as much to me as it does to others when it comes to seeing the characters again and having them finish the story. "YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED IT!?" i know, i know, i haven't played it, but i did play FF9 for the PS and that was one of the best CRPG's i have ever played. so i can guess what FF7 was like. ** looks at own SN... thinks to self, "yes, i quite liked FF9." **

Was (Darth) Revan Evil?
"LS Jedi who sacrificed himself to DS to prepare the galaxy" that has to be the dumbest and least supported idea i have heard in the k2 spoilers forum. sadly, it is in second for votes in this thread. its one thing to think of your hero as always having been a good guy, but this is just false. he "fell" to the DS, he didn't say, "oh, i am LS so to be an even better LS i will be DS". what "preparation" for the galaxy are you referring to? when he went to stop the mandalorians, i was under the impression that he hadn't become DS yet. He became DS when he was corrupted by the star forge and its offer of power. okay, i am too into this, i had better go

Forum Errors
Hey hey, don't get me wrong, i was just asking if it was possible or something. i didn't think that developers of a game would be busy fixing a forum. i assumed there would be someone else in charge of that, and that is who i wanted to do it. or if there is not someone like that, then disregard this and all my previous comments in this thread.

Frappr!
dang, where the heck are double A batteries when you need them... i have my digital camera right here guys, but no batteries... i hate that. and all the electronic devices that use double A batteries have been raped of their power-holding contents already, so it may be a while till i get that pic.

Forum Errors
I know as much about coding as a flamingo in a bear suit, but could Obsidian take the latest versions of the forum software, then see how it solved the prevalent problems in our current version, then make "modifications" to it? like the ones Obsidian has already made? that might be a lot of work, i just don't know. sorry if i am a total idiot, but at least i can do this:

Happy Birthday
DL how can you do that to Kaftan? Not even my worst enemy would deserve to be "presented" with such a weapon of mass brain cell destruction. Anyway, happy birthday KB and Silver, may you never be subjected to such debased gifts again.

Frappr!
don't worry, i was joking too but are you joking about thinking i was not joking? because then i would say your most recent joke was poor. Maybe next time when i make a joke i will do this: Dang, this is probably considered spam. on topic: i will try and add a pic soon, so to those wary of the ugly- you have been warned

Most hated Non-Player Character
**obi-wan voice** "oh dear, the council will not approve" i wanted to find out why the heck the hunting license lady disliked her husband in the first place. he wasn't that big of a jerk, at least not as big as her. i think she just had some mental issues. also, you give griff all the resources you can and he still fails, what a loser. he needed to die, but only from his own stupidity. vrook... was an idiot. he didn't understand anything you did and he always hates your character no matter what.

Influence: good or bad?
i totally agree. it felt like the influence ability better built your character's relationship with the others and that made it more immersive i guess. but this especially should've happened:"For K2 you should have had to gain like 3 influences to open next dialog so you couldnt just breeze through a NPCs full dialog in one sitting."

Xbox360 Japanese launch
i always thought that these things were the xbox's greatest characteristics: the best graphics of the three consoles (since it came out later, but still...), and pretty sveeet titles like splinter cell (which i really like, its actually a lot different from the Metal Gear's. sound and lighting have a big place in the gameplay whereas in MGS you can run up to an enemy and he won't hear you, or if you are just out of his range of sight, which is 10 feet, he can't see you. both games though are equally my favourites in their genre) and Kotor (leaving out for PC) and Halo 1+2. Yeah, so basically they definitely should've waited. the xbox lost its power attribute by coming out first with only a few mediocre games and no Halo 3. in other words: Dreamcast (i'm a fan of the xbox too, its the only console of the three current gen ones that i own, and i am saying this objectively)

Serenity trailer (aka the Firefly movie)
Thanks for clearing that up. There's a lot of written Japanese as well, but you really can't expect the actors to master a whole new language just for a film now, can you? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am not educated in chinese or japanese linguistics, but don't the written languages of both sometimes use the same symbols? wait, i did a search and found a basic explanation about manga that confirms what i was thinking with the letter characters, "KANJI: Pictiographic/idiographic characters of Chinese origin. They are used for conceptual words such as verbs, adj, adv, etc. as well as Japanese names(places, people, nouns, etc.). Japanese use both the Chinese reading of these characters as well as their own. So where as the Chinese Kanji have one reading each, Japaense Kanji can have anywhere from 1 to 6 or more readings! That includes meaning AND pronuciation!! The average Japanese is familiar with about 3,000 kanji characters. There are close to 7000 characters used in modern written Japanese. The most comprehensive Japanese Kanji dictionary has 20,000 entries. Chinese dictionaries have 40,000. Most Kanji are not used, and many people cannot read them all. Sometimes you will find in manga or on television a difficult Kanji with a hiragana spelling next to it to help those that can't read it. With so many different kanji and so many singular kanji that can have seperate meanings and pronunciations each, these "spellings" are often needed." yeah, so julianw, did you see katakana or hirigana or a sentence that only made sense in japanese? if not, i am guessing you just saw some symbols that are common to chinese and japanese
