thanks mothman. to prove what he says, here is the verse more in context: It is in small font so as to not annoy people who don't want to read it. you can just copy+paste and it will be normal size (w00t) Matthew 10: 22All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. 23When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. I tell you the truth, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes. 24"A student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25It is enough for the student to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebub, how much more the members of his household! 26"So do not be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. 27What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. 28Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. 30And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. 32"Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. 33But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven. 34"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35For I have come to turn " 'a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law- Freedom of Speech.
Duh! they are supposed to read it figuratively Mothy! but you have good points, it does appear that their holy book encourages certain "violent" actions. Hmm, that "fundamental lunatic" was not very "fundamental" now was he? Let's take a look at the Holy Bible, which is what you refer to when you say "fundamental". Exodus 20:13 "You shall not murder." hmm, that one is a little vague, i mean, it only states something that can only mean one thing. so obviously it is not enough evidence to prove these people are acting against God's Word. (i am being facetious). this command is also specifically seen in Deuteronomy 5:17, and Jesus supports it in Matthew 19:19, Matthew 5:21,22. But the theme of "you shall not murder" is seen throughout the whole Bible. Romans 2:1 "You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things." It looks like that one man was passing judgment on someone else (namely, the doctor who killed fetuses), and so he took judgment into his own hands. wow, what an idiot. he judges someone by killing them because they killed someone. maybe he should practice what he preaches, and not kill people. As for sitting at the right hand of God, I only see that place designated for Jesus in the Bible. And as for sitting beside Jesus, i only see Matthew 20:23 "Jesus said to them, 'You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.'" In lew of that, i can't imagine God placing someone who happily violates His commands at His right or even left. My point: those people you refer to are not "fundamental" in the true sense of the word. They are, however, lunatics, as you so accurately stated, who probably have never studied the Bible.- Star Wars Cantina
LA needs to hire someone to make K3, preferrably Obsidian, since i like Obsidian. i think that's all i have to say.- KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
You are a madman. :sends aerous to a clinic:- KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
I don't think we need a whole new cast for K3 either; I agree that the previously established characters need to have closure. However, and i think you'd agree, there should probably be a new PC and maybe some other new characters because of that, since people like to have a new customizable character for a new RPG.- kotor rpg
EDIT: i sure hope this is still going on, since i just wrote a lot... Anyway, I'll be your Jedi character, Onivega. Name: Ithamar Merari Age:24 Homeworld: Coruscant Weapon: Green Short Lightsaber Appearance: Short Brown Hair, Dark Green Eyes, Fair Skin, Dark Brown Robe With Hood Always On Except In Fights Alignment: LS Affiliation: Jedi Knight Powers: Combative Mind Trick (allows for effective stealthy, hit-and-run movement/attacks +2 Attack -2 Damage +1 Defense for one turn), Force Push (causes the enemy to lose balance and opens up their defense for an attack +2 Damage +2 Attack -3 Constitution for one turn), Force Speed (agility and quickness honed with the force +3 Speed -4 Damage +2 Dexterity for one turn) Lightsaber Form: Ataru Backstory: Born from a force-sensitive family, Ithamar was prone to being recruited by the Jedi Council on Coruscant. As a padawan he was attracted to the speediness and acrobatics of the Ataru lightsaber form, and began training thus with his lightsaber. He found that a short blade worked better for him, since it didn't scrape against the ground or walls, and it was good for close-quarters combat. Ithamar quickly mastered the form and specialised in a few force powers which complimented it. He was noticed by a Jedi Master, Sora Korlin, at age 17 and trained under her for 4 years until he was enstated as a Jedi Knight (the brevity of this apprenticeship was due to the "Jedi Civil War" and the Jedi council needing more Knights for this battle). During the Jedi Civil War, Ithamar fought with Sora against Malak's campaign at Dantooine, and helped to prevent much of the planet from becoming identical to Telos. Sadly, Sora died saving Ithamar during an ambush of a group of Sith Assassins. Though Ithamar rather loved Sora, he did not lose his LS composure and was able to fight off the rest of the Assassins. The death of his former master caused Ithamar to go into self-afflicted exile, for he did not desire to fight any longer amongst the destruction of Malak's army. On Tattoine, (that's right, Ben Kenobi wasn't the first to live in exile there) he was able to stay in semi-contact with sympathizers of the Jedi Council, and when he discovered that the rest of the council had been killed off by a Force-User known as "The Exile", Ithamar was compelled to come and fight again for his values. Ithamar really is one of the last Knights of the Old Republic and is passionate about defending the truth and ideals of his God, which most often happen to agree with those of the Jedi.- Get rich or die tryin
Alright, who the heck necro-posted? i remember when this thread was first made. good times ^_^- Support Obsidian and LucasArts
ha, too true my masked acquaintance.- Rumour: Xbox 360 better than PS3
ah, interesting. yeah, if they didn't do that, then they would be really stupid. but xbox live does have more experience... i am just noting... that doesn't mean the playstation network won't be just as good or better, but it does mean something.- Bioware presents StarWars Dragons: Vice City 2K6 ?
That's what you said last night As for Obsidian living on past glory? they have only made one game... one. now go home and think about this. you might say, "but Blank, you are the one that needs to think about this. a lot of the guys in Obsidian used to be with BIS, and that is why i say they are living on past glory. you are the one that needs to go home, Blank." but i say, "they have started with a new slate. that is why they are not BIS anymore. it is a different company, trying to stand up on its own two feet. for now, they are making/have made a couple games from the consent of Bioware, but they are also starting their own IP's, and they will work on those just as hard, if not harder, than they worked on the games from Bioware, since those IP's are what proves who Obsidian is, and Obsidian knows this."- Rumour: Xbox 360 better than PS3
I am assuming when we say "better" we mean "the console which has altogether higher valued features". If we just mean a more powerful system, then the PS3 will probably be more powerful, since it is coming out later. but because we mean overall, the 360 sounds to be better because of what SS said in the quote above. Also, how it integrates well into networks and how it has a dedicated online service for the system. anyway, i hope it is better since it is the one i am getting- Movies you've seen lately
ermm, nawt reallly...- The best/most exotic item you've ever found in K2
I Don't think Humans Count But If They Do I Think The Same Thing <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In that case, Visas But if miraluka don't count as items, then i guess the item i found most notable (not exactly best/most exotic) was more than one item, no, it was the fact that i found more than one of these; that i found seven of them. I'd buy it. i like Obsidian... and they have only made one game (w00t)- Star Wars Cantina
(w00t) that was a good game. boy howdy! as for Obi-wan, it had some cool factors, but overall it wasn't a good game. but you can't excuse the cool factors. like controlling the lightsaber with the right-analog stick, and the lightsaber cutting all to heck. although Jedi Academy did the same cool factors and more, it still didn't have the total control with the right-analog stick. but Jedi Academy was a better game overall, and by a lot too...- KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
But the key is continuity. if you will have Disciple, then it means exile is female, and you will not have Handmaiden. Personally, it would be cool if the PC trains up as a force-sensitive while K1 and K2 events are taking place, so you would be seeing them unfold (e.g. news about the destruction of Peragus, or even Kataar). In that case, i also think that K1 and K2 need to have some decisions be made about their PC's and events canonization. Let's be realistic, people. A modern game like K3 just can't have that much content and be made at a reasonable price and time. Yes, it would be a great game (in theory), and it would have a good replayability factor, but it would also take forever to make and/or be very expensive. i also find it as overkill to make different content for every facet/idea that is optional in K1 and K2. (for example, there are 16 different combinations that Revan and Exile can be together in K3, i.e. Alignment and Gender.)- T.O.M.B.S, vol 4
