  1. B, so we can meet the one female police officer who tries tro work amongst the crazy male ones. you know, the girl from the part where everyone got mad at you for being sexist?
  2. Pixies, that was lame. your girlfriend is weaksauce. *dreams* hmm, my perfect girlfriend would eventually end up as my wife i am guessing. since she would be perfect, a girl, and a friend, all qualities which i think would make an ideal marriage. I'd have to be confident that she believes Jesus is her Saviour, since marrying a non-christian would cause me to make compromises in my spiritual life, and also, i would not be encouraged in the God part of my life (even if she did encourage me that way, i wouldn't have fellowship with her the way that i would with a fellow christian as a wife). The most important aspect of her personality would have to be her kindness. I just think that is really important, and it would make the arguments easier for us. Ideally, she would be beautiful in appearance, but if i just love her for her personality then it shouldn't matter what she looks like (the importance of appearances only lasts so long in a marriage. since it will be long-term, it shouldn't depend on something that won't last long.) but God made women attractive for a reason, so i won't totally ignore the preference i have. i am just saying, as long as she isn't butt-ugly (no offense to you, Gabs " ), then i don't mind much. /post that nobody cares about
  3. um, yeah. Mothy? sorry to break it to you, but she isn't hot. she looks like she has a hangover of the millenium and boils that are egyptian-plague caliber. @Gabs: now, if she had red hair...
  4. Too bad she didn't have red hair, then she'd be really hot
  5. Virtual Blank gives you +20 virtual TOMBS points for your successful conversion of "the Freedom of Speech thread" to "a religion thread".
  6. It's okay, put it out of our misery. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yes, this thread has forgotten its mortality. punish it.
  7. excuse me, did you say something? as for the poll, Bastila of course but if there was a Visas in K1 and you had her in the poll, then that would be my vote. ...
  8. (but it doesn't make a difference if virtual Blank is generous with his points or not, since the points virtual Blank gives do not count in reality, right?)
  9. Thanks, Steve. Also, the quotes from Deuteronomy 13 were addressed directly to the Israelites. God was trying to preserve His people's sanctity, as you can see from the reasoning in verse 11. very similar to modern-day corporate punishment. and that quote from Deut. 17 was very paraphrased. if you read it you see, again, the reasoning behind the punishment. It sounds harsh, but an Israelite (note: not a person from another nation. look at verse 2) who worshipped another god in their time was treated the same way we treat murderers: they get a death sentence. but in that passage you see that they are told to investigate thouroughly, and that there must be at least 2 witnesses to the idolatry. i'll just post the passage really small like i did before, so you can copy+paste and it'll be big again (w00t)... Deuteronomy 17:2-7 (New American Standard Bible) 2"If there is found in your midst, in any of your towns, which the LORD your God is giving you, a man or a woman who does what is evil in the sight of the LORD your God, by transgressing His covenant, 3and has gone and served other gods and worshiped them, or the sun or the moon or any of the heavenly host, which I have not commanded, 4and if it is told you and you have heard of it, then you shall inquire thoroughly. Behold, if it is true and the thing certain that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, 5then you shall bring out that man or that woman who has done this evil deed to your gates, that is, the man or the woman, and you shall stone them to death. 6"On the evidence of two witnesses or three witnesses, he who is to die shall be put to death; he shall not be put to death on the evidence of one witness. 7"The hand of the witnesses shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.
  10. Yes. Have you seen the stuff those guys can do with those spray cans? There's some beautiful stuff out there...and to reiterate a not so sharp point...Graffiti is much more of an art than a lot of what's been called art in the past ever was. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i agree, but some graffiti is just "tagging", where it is really not artistic at all, but rather printing a name on a wall with one color of spray paint. but i don't think one should vandalize stuff just because it can be artistic. why not do it on a canvas instead? or in a way that it is not illegal? it's dissappointing that a lot of graffiti is done illegally. but again, i think most graffiti is art.
  11. i'm not sure what i think about that... Edit: my mind is still boggled about this, and whole minute has passed . i think pixies deserves +1 TOMBS point (simulatory according to Meta).
  12. *looks around* hmm, it looks like nobody else said it, so i will: that was stupid.
  13. i didn't read through the thread. i'm feeling noobish tonight. anyway, all i have to say about this is that video games can be artistic, just like writing or the cinema can. not all writing is artistic, such as instruction manuals. but some writing is, like poetry. i believe the same goes for video-games. if somebody already said this, i apologise, but you aren't the first to think of it either...
  14. angry like this: ... but maybe more like this:
  15. but anyway, i will post the post that i wanted to post initially: Provided by Merriam-Webster Main Entry: mu
  16. thanks mothman. to prove what he says, here is the verse more in context: It is in small font so as to not annoy people who don't want to read it. you can just copy+paste and it will be normal size (w00t) Matthew 10: 22All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. 23When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. I tell you the truth, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes. 24"A student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25It is enough for the student to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebub, how much more the members of his household! 26"So do not be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. 27What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. 28Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. 30And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. 32"Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. 33But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven. 34"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35For I have come to turn " 'a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law
  17. Duh! they are supposed to read it figuratively Mothy! but you have good points, it does appear that their holy book encourages certain "violent" actions. Hmm, that "fundamental lunatic" was not very "fundamental" now was he? Let's take a look at the Holy Bible, which is what you refer to when you say "fundamental". Exodus 20:13 "You shall not murder." hmm, that one is a little vague, i mean, it only states something that can only mean one thing. so obviously it is not enough evidence to prove these people are acting against God's Word. (i am being facetious). this command is also specifically seen in Deuteronomy 5:17, and Jesus supports it in Matthew 19:19, Matthew 5:21,22. But the theme of "you shall not murder" is seen throughout the whole Bible. Romans 2:1 "You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things." It looks like that one man was passing judgment on someone else (namely, the doctor who killed fetuses), and so he took judgment into his own hands. wow, what an idiot. he judges someone by killing them because they killed someone. maybe he should practice what he preaches, and not kill people. As for sitting at the right hand of God, I only see that place designated for Jesus in the Bible. And as for sitting beside Jesus, i only see Matthew 20:23 "Jesus said to them, 'You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.'" In lew of that, i can't imagine God placing someone who happily violates His commands at His right or even left. My point: those people you refer to are not "fundamental" in the true sense of the word. They are, however, lunatics, as you so accurately stated, who probably have never studied the Bible.
  18. LA needs to hire someone to make K3, preferrably Obsidian, since i like Obsidian. i think that's all i have to say.
  19. I don't think we need a whole new cast for K3 either; I agree that the previously established characters need to have closure. However, and i think you'd agree, there should probably be a new PC and maybe some other new characters because of that, since people like to have a new customizable character for a new RPG.
  20. EDIT: i sure hope this is still going on, since i just wrote a lot... Anyway, I'll be your Jedi character, Onivega. Name: Ithamar Merari Age:24 Homeworld: Coruscant Weapon: Green Short Lightsaber Appearance: Short Brown Hair, Dark Green Eyes, Fair Skin, Dark Brown Robe With Hood Always On Except In Fights Alignment: LS Affiliation: Jedi Knight Powers: Combative Mind Trick (allows for effective stealthy, hit-and-run movement/attacks +2 Attack -2 Damage +1 Defense for one turn), Force Push (causes the enemy to lose balance and opens up their defense for an attack +2 Damage +2 Attack -3 Constitution for one turn), Force Speed (agility and quickness honed with the force +3 Speed -4 Damage +2 Dexterity for one turn) Lightsaber Form: Ataru Backstory: Born from a force-sensitive family, Ithamar was prone to being recruited by the Jedi Council on Coruscant. As a padawan he was attracted to the speediness and acrobatics of the Ataru lightsaber form, and began training thus with his lightsaber. He found that a short blade worked better for him, since it didn't scrape against the ground or walls, and it was good for close-quarters combat. Ithamar quickly mastered the form and specialised in a few force powers which complimented it. He was noticed by a Jedi Master, Sora Korlin, at age 17 and trained under her for 4 years until he was enstated as a Jedi Knight (the brevity of this apprenticeship was due to the "Jedi Civil War" and the Jedi council needing more Knights for this battle). During the Jedi Civil War, Ithamar fought with Sora against Malak's campaign at Dantooine, and helped to prevent much of the planet from becoming identical to Telos. Sadly, Sora died saving Ithamar during an ambush of a group of Sith Assassins. Though Ithamar rather loved Sora, he did not lose his LS composure and was able to fight off the rest of the Assassins. The death of his former master caused Ithamar to go into self-afflicted exile, for he did not desire to fight any longer amongst the destruction of Malak's army. On Tattoine, (that's right, Ben Kenobi wasn't the first to live in exile there) he was able to stay in semi-contact with sympathizers of the Jedi Council, and when he discovered that the rest of the council had been killed off by a Force-User known as "The Exile", Ithamar was compelled to come and fight again for his values. Ithamar really is one of the last Knights of the Old Republic and is passionate about defending the truth and ideals of his God, which most often happen to agree with those of the Jedi.
  21. Alright, who the heck necro-posted? i remember when this thread was first made. good times ^_^
  22. ah, interesting. yeah, if they didn't do that, then they would be really stupid. but xbox live does have more experience... i am just noting... that doesn't mean the playstation network won't be just as good or better, but it does mean something.
