I don't want to criticize people that play this way, i even finished PotD using the "retreat to bottleneck" strategy a lot, but i just find is so repetitive and mechanic that by mid game i was actively avoiding encounters that did not give decent loot or were part of a quest. Still whether or not it's abuse matters not, i just want to get some tips to fight them in the open, because it's not fun to do it again i like the challenge of facing some enemies in the open, and as i said in my original post i want to know if it's doable with obsidian NPCs and good tactics or not. I do however want to say that saying it ain't abuse because it's a valid strategy IRL too is a bit of a fallacy. The AI can't into bottlenecks, IRL noone would do stupid things the AI do like: *If they have a bunch of melee guys they just pile up waiting to die, in reality they would push our tank until they got though or they would switch to reach/ranged weapons if they are intelligent creatures. I swear once i saw an with a pike engaging my tank while their beefy guy just waited in the back. *The spellcasters are suicidal and just stand there in the open, instead of hiding outside your view. *Incorporeals like spirits should just go straight though the walls. *Many enemies should just not bite the bait, specially if they were guarding a place. *Many times i used as a bottleneck a place that the AI could easily go around and yet they never do it.

So, i'm more a RPer than a Gamer so i decided to go for another PoTD run but this time only by "playing fair" (No enemy group splitting, no door blocking unless it seemed logical, no pre-positioning, no return to town to get more supplies, etc) and so far while it's not impossible with enough reloads however it kinda seems to defeat the point of it all because it looks that i end up winning when AI makes something stupid or i get a couple of lucky crits. I just wonder, was PoTD not meant to be played with way at all? Or it's just that i need more practice and better tactics (And maybe adventurers instead of obsidian NPCs)?

Map Markers ?
Vadász replied to Cas1's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
My only complaint about map markers is that they appear even before you get the relevant quest or discover them by yourself. -
Hard to tell, because you learn more and more with every playthrough. But, hard atm seems easy to me save a couple of fights, so far PotD more tedious than hard because enemy isolation and clever positioning still win every fight. I have yet to fight the dragons or descend to the lower levels of Caed Nua.

Might checks are a must for getting the agressive demeanor high, otherwise you should not care about it that much. -
[SPOILERS] Animancy and the Ending
Vadász replied to Longknife's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Thalos didn't just wanted to use animancer as scapegoats, he wanted to destroy them. They questioned whether the legacy was really a punishment from the gods thus they could discover they the leaden key was behind it and we have to remind that Azo was close to finding a cure before Thalos ruined him. Also Animancy is not pseudoscience it's just in a state of infancy. Alchemy was ancient Chemistry for example, they just experimented with stuff they didn't fully understand and man thought they were crazy, and even if may just managed to create green instead of gold a lot of useful knowledge came from their research. -
Problems with the Ending

Well since you guys cleared the issue of the missing soul options for me, a question still remains, is there a way to consume Thalos soul? Oh and btw, and if anyone at Obsidian read my original post, you have my apologies. -
dialogue changes
Vadász replied to Michael_Galt's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I believe the best main char you can take is a tank with all three mental attributes as high as possible preferably with decent lore since that would give the most dialogue choices. You might fail some scripted events but thankfully in many of them your NPCs can help you. -
Only one prisoner at a time?
Vadász replied to Katarack21's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
If the escape can you recapture them or they are just gone? Does it have to do with your security rating? -
The problem is how you aproach the community and post the videos, a lot of people just see you spamming. If you wrote at least a couple of words instead of just posting the links and explained some more stuff the reaction would be different. Also the fact that your only posts in this forums are from your videos does not help either.

Many fantasy settings have gods that "New gods" that appeared when the creator gods left, others have only one true god like Ao in forgotten realms and all other gods are usually lesser gods were once simple mortals die if mortals stop worshiping them. Gods in PoE are not that different. But to explain the nature of a true god, specially in religions that belive in reincarnation i ave to explain first the nature of the soul, spirit and body trinity (Which is not unlike the christian trinity). Some religions argue that living beings have soul and spirit, the spirit resides in a realm of energy or light the body in the terrenal and the soul serves as a nexus between both. After a person dies the soul ascends the spirit learns everything the soul learned in this life and is sent to the terrenal again to inhabit a new body, yet the soul sometimes keeps fractions of knowledge from past lives and then why some may remember them. Spirits that learn enough may eventually become "gods" themselves, the problem is that most soul get "degraded" when they inhabit a body since some situations get imprinted so hard that cannot be erased by the spirits, the more advanced the life form it inhabits the more likely for that to happen. Some souls actually get degraded so badly that they cannot leave this realm and they become ghosts that cannot find it's way to the spirit. Putting those these things together we can assume there are true gods that are powerful omnipotent beings that have strong spirits that underwent the path eons ago probably in another world. Those gods may want to create new spirits and a place for them to live and learn before moving on when they are satisfied with their creations. But there is another kind of god, the lesser god, they could have been created by the true god himself, or maybe they are just mortals that held great power and managed to achieve transcendence though magic or other means, and yet this lesser gods are more important for the mortal men than all the true gods together because they are the ones that listen to their prayers and can influence their daily lives. Some even know this truth and still worship them either because they don't want to cross a being that powerful or maybe because they don't care because to them they are real enough. To sum it up, PoE gods are as real as they get, even if they were engineered by Engwithans. You can tell how real they are because some of your party members still end up worshiping their gods even after learning the truth, for them the truth changed absolutely nothing.

Most of my family takes belive in god and heaven and still mourns every one they lost even though they know they'll see them again when they die. Reincarnation is more depressing than the concept of heaven after death, because even though your "soul" will go on everything that you are in this life will not.

Problems with the Ending
Vadász replied to Vadász's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Maybe your reputation has something to do with the endings you get, but i doubt it, it wouldn't make sense since the last few revelations you get can change your perspective 180º.
