Well, if you can call a major world religion and all its adherents a 'spot'.... But yeah, in a broader sense you are probably right. I can't remember mine right now. Oh yeah, really selfish people. Anyhoo... back to sexuality..... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can see a new thread topic coming.
-
Well, when you hate something for no clear reason, then people tend to complain about it. I can understand if you hate religious bigots, but not why you would hate the concept of Christianity. Oh well. Each to his own, I guess. Edit: Probably best to let this drop, anyway, before we degrade into a flame war. Live and let live.
-
And always remember, Lucius, that most religious people aren't the narrow-minded bigots and haters some might think they are, and I'm including religion in general. And as for Hitler, I'm not saying anyone here linked Nazis to Christianity, I was just making a point. It's the bigoted, violent minority that attracts the most attention and is unfairly applied to the rest. And of course, the Bible does not justify any of the horrible acts done by its followers, so you can't blame the religion for instilling hate, it's the narrow-minded humans who follow it and warp it to suit their own ends. It is humans using religion to justify their actions, even when it doesn't. Disagreeing with homosexuality does not mean you hate them. I don't hate them, I think of them as just fellow human beings.
-
Well, if you can cite one passage in the Bible that explicitely justifies the horrible acts done by Nazis (who weren't motivated by Christianity, Hitler was not what you would call a Christian), the Spanish Inquisition, witch burnings, etc., feel free to do so. That is what matters most, not what the Church says. And the Church at one time did bless these terrible acts, but as I said that was human cruelty and misinterpretation of the Bible. BTW: it's 'duh' (someone might confuse you with Homer Simpson) d'oh!

I thought we clearly refuted these so called heath issued, I mean, nr. 3 was pure nonsense and the other two applies to straight people as well. As some other poster said, Aids among straights is also bad. (pssst, dude, this isn't tge 80'ies anymore, wake up) As for my personal stance on religion and Christianity, well my sig says it all I think. ^_^ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, your sig has Christianity's intentions wrong. " And unless you've read and studied the Bible, please do not try to pretend you have. Many times Christians have committed crimes against individuals and humanity, but that is not Christianity's doing, that is the work of human cruelty and religion being misinterpreted. You find the same things going on with Islam. Christianity does not want to find the world ugly, its goal is to help out the ugly things. :D Homosexuals, too, must be accepted and respected.

@Cloris: Well, since I'm sure you had me in mind when posting, you've once again shown how some people automatically associate religion with hatred. It's nice to know you think I'm bigoted just for disagreeing with something. And I did say that homosexuality was a choice, but only with some people. Unfortunately, I didn't make myself clear enough on that. I merely attempted to say that it is not all genetics, as some claim. It is both, and there are many factors involved in the process, including environment and heredity. And I will reiterate: disagreeing with homosexuality is not the same as hating homesexuals.

Orange!! This kind of reminds me in the scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail... What is your name? What is your quest? What is your favorite color? :D

Things you wish a KOTOR2 character would say......
Dark Moth replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Sort of inspired by what Darth Spock said... Kreia: And here you'll see the famous tomb of Naga Sadow, tomb of one of the greatest Sith Lords! Be sure to observe the fascinating runes on the pillars, and the ancient doorways used in the time of the ancient Sith! Pictures of the insides can be purchased at a local Kiosk, and for you're fancy we are also hosting a tour of the old Sith academy this afternoon! -
Addictions/Obsessions Brought on by KOTOR II
Dark Moth replied to Royal_Nonesuch's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I've just gotten into writing fanfiction and, of course, posting on these boards. Fanfiction.net is a godsend for us fans. My favorite thing is adding twists onto the stories to fit your personal preference, something I'm attempting in one of mine. -
Yeah, that too. Some people don't truly know who they are (sexuality included) unless they try something different, and unfortunately many people have to do that. Sexuality is just one among many choices we make in our lives. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Except that it isn't a 'conscious' choice, for most people. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> True, true.

I don't think it's dull. I think it's leagues ahead of most of the lame reality shows that spring up on television. Considering that the guys are really fighting (unlike the lame crap in WWE), it makes it all the more worth while. I saw one scene where a Brazilian guy punched his opponent so hard he broke his arm, but then his opponent came back on knocked him out with one hand!! (Unfortunately, I can't remember their names)

I'm not a homophobe, I don't hate homosexuals. That, however, does not mean I agree with their lifestyle (which I don't). Does that mean I hate them? No, I happen to know homosexuals in real life. I know that they too are people and can be great people. That still does not stop me from disagreeing with their lifestyle, but at the same time I won't treat them differently. What I also hate is that whenver someone claims to disagree with homosexuality, they're branded as a bigot, racist, nazi, homophobe, religious zealot, etc. People often equate Christianity with hatred because it teaches against homosexuality, but that is not true. Christianity teaches that homosexuality is wrong, but we should treat them as equals just the same. :D As for the whole choice issue, as I said, people numerous times can turn straight or gay, so you can't say it's all genetics. It's happened many times before. And it's not as if someone wakes up one day and says "Well, I think I'll be gay from now on." No, it's a long process that comes from the experiences and choices of the individual. People can be born with it, granted, but there are also many others who make it a choice. You gotta love controversial threads, they attract posts like a magnet. :D

Anyone else looking forward to Ultimate Fighter season 2? :D I'm surprised that stuff hasn't been banned (I know people have tried)

What Was the Best Part Of Kotor II or I?
Dark Moth replied to DARTHPON's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yeah, I think most fangirls loved that scene. Hell, I'm an Atton fangirl, but that scene was easily my favourite part of KOTOR 2. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It would have been nice if we got a similar scene with Bastila, but instead we boys get the lame "Did he know?" question (basically a five second cameo), and she doesn't even talk to the exile! -
Things you wish a KOTOR2 character would say......
Dark Moth replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Hahaha! Yes, that would've been awesome. Just once, for laughs. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But then again, Kreia just would have said something like "Ah, yes, your hatred can help you to fuel your powers and distance yourself from others." or something like that. " I would have preferred something like "You useless old hag, get the hell off my ship! [release airlock]." :D -
Not really. You can't choose if you're black or white (unless you're Michael Jackson " ) but many times you can choose to be homosexual or straight. Race is a physical characteristic, but sexuality is a lifestyle. I know some may be predisposed to being homosexual, but there is no "homosexual gene" as some have claimed, and you see many times gay people going straight and vice-versa. You can disagree with someone being gay as much as you can disagree with someone being a necrophile (not that I'm comparing the two). And just to get on topic so this thread isn't closed (how ironic that would be), these threads are meant to be constuctive, and the mods don't want people abusing these threads to troll or flame or whatever. What I don't like is how they are so deathly scared of it that they'll lock down threads after only a few spam posts. The Family guy thread was on topic from what I could tell, and my romance thread was locked after only about 3 spam posts! I sense some injustice there.

Should Lightsabre colour crystals give bonuses?
Dark Moth replied to Darth_Windu's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
No, I think color crystals should decide just that - color. There's already enough options to alter the effects without changing the color, so it's probably not necessary. What if the crystals actually leveled up your force powers as well? Say that by installing a particular crystal, you automatically were able to cast stasis, but you couldn't level up to stasis field unless you chose it while leveling up? They do something like that for feats, but not force powers. I kind of got the idea from Diablo II. -
KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
Dark Moth replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Don't forget, GL wanted his SW movies to be accessible for a wide range of audiences, and so wanted to tone down blood and gore as much as possible. If I remember correctly, the PG-13 rating didn't exist until the release of Raiders of the Lost Ark. If I'm also correct, there aren't any SW games rated M. As for K3, that's mainly why I doubt we'll see graphic violence in the next installment, even if it is done in real-time. -
The rating system is very screwed up, IMO. Jade Empire only got an M rating because of the same-sex romances, I think, but the violence was okay. And I don't think Rockstar will change how it makes games any time soon. I recently read an interview with one of GTA's main devs (forget his name) and he was a shameless defender for everything in the game (violence, sexual content, etc.) I don't have San Andreas, but I have Vice City, and I know firsthand what the players encounter in the game.

KOTOR II Character and Voice Talent Appreciation
Dark Moth replied to Royal_Nonesuch's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Bastila all the way, even if she does have 3 seconds of speaking. And Kelly Hu as Visas was great with that nice seductive voice (although not quite as much as Yuthura's). Kreia's voice also did a great job; too bad her character was so annoying. -
Yeah their skins sucked they should make the fems better looking <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed on both points. But I thought the mens' skins in both KOTORs sucked even more than the females. Most were either ugly or downright lame. And so this post isn't spam, Aimo's art rules.

Well, I thought it was a little unfair of Fionavar to lock my thread after about 4 spam posts... " But it seems devs may be scared to let anything go unchecked.

What Was the Best Part Of Kotor II or I?
Dark Moth replied to DARTHPON's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Kissing and redeeming Bastila. And finding out I was Revan and kicking ass the rest of the game. :D In K2, where Vrook and Kreia die. And Mission is 19 in K2, because she was 14 in K1 (she says so), and K2 occurs five years later. -
I don't think K1 was as black and white as some say. (it was definitely more so than K2, I'll admit) I thought K1 did show how good/evil isn't so easy to define sometimes. Take Yuthura Ban, for instance. She appeared evil at first, and she was a Sith. But as you talk to her and learn about her past and redeem her after the battle, you find that she isn't evil after all. But as for black and white, sometimes there are clear distinctions between right and wrong. As for party members, I did prefer them in K1. I actually liked most of them (except maybe T3). Whatt I like, though, was that it clearly showed that the choices you make, good or evil, can have very different consequences. In the end was where K2 fell apart, because it didn't make that great a distinction. But hey, that's my opinion.
