Some would say the Gamecube has yet to get a proper Mario game in it's entire iteration. It did get Mario Sunshine, which many felt wasn't a proper Mario title. We were promised Mario 128, which now is likely going to the Revolution rather than the Cube.

For what it's worth I bought this guy's book and the writing is pretty good. I don't care for D20 but this is a good setting from a rules and story perspective. The Prestige Classes aren't horribly overpowered, and aren't strict templates that people have to go into. The Prestige Classes are more cultural archetypes for various nations/culutures in the game to strive for. Reading the book makes me want to play it. Is it better than Arcana Unearthed? No. But it is a fine D20 setting and people may want to check it out.

It depends. As a new player, it may be a good way to really approach the game and setting. Some of the themes and settings are hard to jump right into.
