  1. I didn't purchase it the first time and I'm glad I didn't. I couldn't make it past the first chapter of NWN. It was truly horrible. I hear the expansions are better, but I wont suffer through ridiculously bad gameplay to get to them.
  2. I think bad voice acting kills immersion more than having to read text.
  3. Revan tripped and broke his neck. Now he is in a wheelchair.

  5. I really disagree on the knocks to sports games. Scouting over 100 teams for new players and creating new rosters is a healthy chore in and of itself. But each new NCAA Football or Madden game has plenty of new features. Seriously, I put more hours in my copy of NCAA Football each year than any other game. Most people knock the game because they don't know how much there is to do in the game.
  6. PayPal has always had a policy that if your address is not confirmed, PayPal will not gaurantee the transaction. Several people reported this account as being fraudulent, and they are following the same procedures they would with any account. After 9/11 several "relief" efforts were proven to be fraudulent and alot of donated dollars dissappeared. I know people who work for PayPal's fraud department.
  7. Except I've never seen you blame LucasArts, while you blame Obsidian solely. You are smart enough to know the difference but choose to be willfully ignorant.
  8. If you can play Morrowind, you can most definately play Half Life.
  9. There are a couple of people that can weld, but I know Cyclops works. I had trouble hitting the exact spot for some reason when I came across it.
  10. Roshan makes a good point with the Sin City comparison. I liked the Fallout approach where special NPCs got voice actors.
  11. The highest law in the land says that you are protected. I think it would likely have to be proved that you had means and motive to carry out extortion in order to prosecute.
  12. Anarchy is so good, it should be law!
  13. I've heard about hacked saves but the game is so easy that I can't understand why you'd want to use them.
  14. The good and bad news is that Taris is by far the largest planet. The other planets go much quicker.
  15. I'm not sure what a modsave is.
  16. Here is the funny thing. I can't buy medicinial marijuana because I think it is a BS platform. But your arguement is honest and I can accept it much easier. If we're free to smoke cigarettes, and we want to get high, then why not? I think the burden is on the government to prove there is a victim. Then again, I think the government should repeal mandatory seat-belt laws in the same breath. If I'm not victimizing anyone by not wearing a seat-belt, then there is no crime.
  17. Ballmer just looks like he will quite literally explode at any moment. I totally buy him throwing a chair and cursing like the article said he did.
  18. Then why use pot when there are much better pain killers on the market?
  19. http://www.ntk.net/media/developers.mpg I firmly expect Ballmer to have a heart attack within the next few years. Watch the video. Edit: This one is good too. http://www.tarmo.fi/arc/monkeydance.mpeg
  20. Is that the Resident Evil 1 remake on the Cube? I have it, and I played it for 5 minutes. I played the original on the PS1 quite a bit, though I never beat it. I always ran out of ammo, and kept getting frustrated that I have finite saves. When I saw the exact same akward controls made it to the Cube, I didn't really decide to replay it, but I would like to beat the game someday. I'm just neurotic about saving all the time. Not allowing me to save puts me off.
  21. When I was 15 I had a buddy online on a local BBS. He told us he was depressed, and then he put a bullet through his head. I was trying to "talk him down" when he killed himself. "To know me is to love me; to love me is to know me." It largely shaped many of my interactions with people. I really try to get to know people and see them for who they are. I try to empathize with what they feel, and what they are going through. I like to cut to the chase with people, but that also has led to a big dislike for BS. I always wonder if we had taken the time to really get to know Fred if he wouldn't have killed himself. Then again, maybe his problems ran deeper than that. I guess we'll never know.
  22. I don't have time to play much of anything lately, so I've taken to beating games that have been sitting around. Doom 3 is boring me. Guantlet: Dark Legacy is boring me. Hunter: The Reckoning is really boring me. I think I'll go back to GTA:SA which was frustrating me, or perhaps I'll fire up the emulators.
  23. You can disable the Automatic Update service. In fact, there are several services you can disable in Windows to improve performance. Google for a guide. I know blackviper.com has one.
  24. I refuse to install SP2. I try to tell people all the time about SP2 and no one seems to listen, despite the fact that I am an IT Professional. When I work on other people's PCs, I alter their NTOSKRNL.EXE file, just so SP2 can't install. If the installer detects a modified kernel, it will refuse to install.
  25. I must say, I really enjoy the "different" bits! (Is Eldar banging his head into his keyboard yet?)
