  1. I'm struggling to find those 3 titles for the GC. I haven't played Wind Waker, and I'm not sure I will. I will definately get Twighlight Princess, but RE4 is coming out on the PS2. I really can't find another MUST-HAVE exclusive title on the Gamecube calling out to me. I'm quite happy with my N64 versions of Mario Kart, Smash Brothers, and F-Zero. And I haven't played Mario Sunshine, but most feel Mario 64 was a much better game. I am replaying that again.
  2. I couldn't agree with this more.
  3. Ultima VII was the first game where I felt like I was really inhabiting a virtual world. I just just open some bags of flour, get some water from the well, mix up some dough, and watch bread bake in the oven to pass the time. Then I could follow NPCs around as they went about town doing their business. I loved how you could follow around the Mayor of Britain and catch him in an affair. I loved in Ultima V where you found a room in a dungeon populated by starving kids that had been kidnapped. They became feral and hungry, and would attack you. To progress, you had to deal with feral and violent kids, who were innocent none the less. The media ripped Garriot for forcing the player to kill kids. His response was that you could have chose not to finish the game, or you could have used a sleep spell to bypass the kids without killing them. Ultimately that particular reported had chose to kill the kids. Garriot put choices like that in games far before anyone else put anytype of "role-play" in RPGs.
  4. Sad but true. Shadowrun would make an excellent MMO. Who knows. We have suggested a Shadowrun title, and M$ has been wanting to make a Shadowrun game for a while. Obsidian never said they were working on a new IP, which leads me to believe they aren't. They're just not making a sequel. A Shadowrun game published by M$ would most definately be a console exclusive title.
  5. He was sarcastic. Pac Man Dreams, Duke Nukem Forever, the Phantom Console, et al, are all vaporware.
  6. Instead of a Revan/Exile superparty, and then a weaker Padawan party, I think Revan and the Exile should each be heading up a party. Imagine, the opening of the game is the Exile meeting up with Revan. We skip the boring parts of finding him, just like Return of the Jedi picked right up with Jabba's palace. We have a very exciting and shocking opening revealing the purpose for going out to Unknown Space, and then there are two major tasks at hand. Revan takes his new ship and perhaps some of the Ebon Hawk's surviving crew with him to place A. The Exile takes the Ebon Hawk and his remaining padawans to place B.
  7. Yes, and so is the third nipple.
  8. So, how about those Huskers? A cold-weather state in the College World Series again?
  9. The cutscene is fairly self-explanatory. She was a Sith, but the other Sith Lords wanted nothing to with her anymore, and Sion turned on his former master, Kreia.
  10. Color me crazy, but I really like college sports. It removes alot of the greed, pretense, and BS of professional sports.
  11. Sticky threads are your friend. http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=30377
  12. With the NBA boring me to tears, and the NHL being non-existant, my casual fandom of college baseball really kicked into high gear this year. I live in Omaha, which is the home to the College World Series each year, which helps. Add to that Nebraska had a great season. We went to a Baylor/Nebraska game this year, and we attended both Super Regional games. I still have the sunburn to show for it. I'm really looking forward to going to the College World Series this year, and I noticed that the Regionals/Super Regionals are getting national TV coverage this year. Attendance is also up at games. Anyone else really starting to get into college baseball?
  13. You might recall that I opened with a compliment. I think her art is quite good. And I didn't say her art is wrong. I said, "I can't see..."
  14. Looks real to me. If it's photoshopped, I'd say it's a very good job. The color of the ink doesn't look like a flat black taken from a graphic. The ink reflects the natural lighting of the pic really well.
  15. Well, again, I chalk that up to LA. Generally the budget for bugtesting and patches is at the discretion of the publisher. But the coding for the two versions shouldn't be so drastically different that plot triggers are broken in the PC version when they worked in the XBox version.
  16. I love my modded XBox. It does everything. I won't advocate piracy, though that is the motivation for most people to mod their XBoxes. I got tons of new functionality. My Thompson DVD drive worked rather poorly, and now I don't have to read off discs. Games and levels load much faster, and more reliably. I have a fully functional Media Center, tons of emulators, web browser, all kinds of things. Our Tivo was full of CSI, Alias and Lost, so my wife downloaded some episodes of House from bitTorrent. But watching the episodes on her laptop wasn't that great. So we wirelessly streamed the video files to the XBox, and watched the episodes on the TV. They looked great. I have all kinds of python scripts that do very specific tasks as well, such as pull movie trailers or game trailers. Oddly enough, movie trailers look better on my TV and load faster than on the PC.
  17. I don't understand why the PC version is so buggy. The XBox version ran great as soon as I installed it on the HDD.
  18. Yes. The games were inspired by those comics, and they tried to reference those characters and events. KOTOR and KOTOR:2 take place a while after those comics.
  19. It's 'ridicule'. And I didn't run you over the coals. I just called you out. You're a troll. Sadly, you need to point out trolls so people don't feed them. I'm not trying to piss in your cheerios. I am trying to deflate futher arguements by pointing out that it's not worth arguing with a troll.
  20. Tell me again how you're not a troll.
  21. Yep. It's recently been remade as a GBA game.
  22. Fool. He got the backstabber tattoo, but it's not on his back. I call that irony. And no, I'm not that much of a fan. I am the lesser geek.
  23. No, SquareSoft is probably responsible for some of the most powerful/imbalancing techniques in any game ever. Sephiroth has a technique wherein a sword battle, he coincidentally supernovas a star and destroys a solar system. Talk about collateral damage.
  24. Hrm. Troika just closed shop, and they had a mostly finished engine and they wanted to do a NEW post-apocalyptic game that wasn't a sequel. MCA just said instead of a new Fallout, someone should make a new PA game that is better than Fallout. Obsidian needs to hire. The Troika crew needs jobs. Seriously, I'm shocked this speculation hasn't occured in the New Jersey threads.
  25. I think the Surge commercials were pretty homoerotic.
