From what I hear MCA skipped sleep and overdosed on Star Wars. He read all the books and comics and immersed himself in the fandom as much as he could. And he had already dealt with Fallout fans. They knew what they were in for, and made the best game they could given the time frame. Despite it's flaws, I think they made a unique addition the Star Wars universe. The concept of the Wound in the Force raises some questions I'd like to see answered. Darth Nihlius was interesting and under-used. Scion got far more time on screen.

Didn't Sony patent a design for beaming electrons directly into your brain?

That doesn't make sense. Take infinity to the infinity power and you get Aleph 1, but take that to the infinity power again and you get Aleph 2? Infinity to the infinity power is the same as inifinity to the (infinity + 1) power. Aleph 2 includes numbers not in the set of Aleph 1 I would assume. Imaginary numbers and the like perhaps?

Thanks for the chuckle!

http://aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=20443 Aint It Cool has always had accurate spy reports. And most of what they say about the behind-the-scenes politics seems dead on with everything else I've read. I really wanted to see Singer finish what he started. Too bad Fox chased him away, and now they will destroy his franchise.

I imagine that you had Handmaiden lead a squad on Dxun. That's why she is calmer, because of what happened there. Still dialogue is missing.

dueling vs 2 weapon fighting?
EnderAndrew replied to Solar Xero's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Master Dueling gives you a +3 to damage, and a +3 to hit. You can consolidate your best crystals in a single double-bladed lightsaber. Master Flurry and Two-Weapon rocks. Gamefaqs.com hsa the math broken down of all the feats, and quite simply, Master Flurry plus Two-Weapon Fighting does the most damage at every level. -
Fans want 20 colors of crystals, and don't care that this pisses in the face of cannon, but they argue about double-saber wielding 4000-5000 years before the movies?
-
It depends what the maximum level is you reach. You get exp bonuses for having Kreia in your party, and there are some exp glitches. Assuming you hit say level 27, you can have a maximum of 30 ranks in a skill, plus bonuses.

There is major glitch on Peragus if you play off the HDD. However, almost every single time I tried to save, load, or leave an area the game locked up off the disc. It was unplayable. It never once locked up via the HDD, and it loaded in half the time for me. I also got a nice 7200 RPM Seagate drive in my XBox. It's still limited to ATA33 which sucks, but I also modified some of the cooling in the box as well. The thermal gunk was replaced by Arctic Silver 5, and I put a Vantec Stealth fan in the back.

The speed of gameplay. The immersion factor of the environment. The AI. The detailed level design. How alive and chaotic the action is all round you. Games today approach great graphics. RE4, Half Life 2, Doom 3, and Splinter Cell anyone? But they have tight, controlled environments with little going on in them. Killzone and Gears of War really made me feel like I was being dropped into a true situation of mass anarchy and destruction.

What are your Ability Scores?
EnderAndrew replied to 6 Foot Invisible Rabbit's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
What? Not even in school? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's a message forum, so people don't have to believe me. But we take various standardized tests at certain grade levels here. When going into kindergarden they told me I was dyslexic, and they wanted to put my into Special Education, as I would never read above a 4th grade level. I was homeschooled for a year, which I feel gave me a huge leap on most kids. I could add/subtract/read, etc. before 1st grade. We took CAT tests as we finished 6th grade. In most subjects I tested higher than students at a 12th grade level. My parents called me a prodigy and seriously considered trying to put me in college straight out of 6th grade. Thank god they didn't. Still, without any studying I got a 31 on my ACTs the first time, despite falling asleep in the test. I got a 35 the second time. A 29 puts you in the 99 percentile if I recall (maybe 30) and 36 is a perfect score. Every standardized test I've ever taken has put me in the 99 percentile easily. I've only met one person I know to be a true genius though, and it wasn't me. Without ever studying, he tested out of every undergraduate math class Creighton University offered. His sophmore year in college consisted of just giving lectures in math and physics as a TA. Grad school consisted solely of going to Manhattan and working on some super-collider to try and recreate the Big Bang on a small level. Those with a proclivity towards Physics can look the project up. I believe it's called S.T.A.R.S. (not from the Resident Evil game, silly). That's great. Catholics trying to prove the Big Bang. He was technically in college for 6 years, but was only really a student for one year. He partied every night with buddies, never slept, and never sweated anything. He's also perhaps the most giving, humble and considerate person I've ever met. Really smart folks are rarely humble, but he's a cancer survivor with a great outlook on life. Most days I aspire to be half the man he is. -
I'm down for a PBEM game.

My last 2nd edition character lasted one session before the DM threw his hands up in the air. He said we could start with 5 levels to distribute between whatever classes we desired. I choose a Drow Bard/Psionicist. We could also start with one minor magic item. I took a ring of Fire Control. The Wizard in the group made a Fireball scroll. I read it, and it cast as I was 5th level, doing 5d6 of Fire Damage. But the Ring of Fire Control doubled that. The Psionic Power of Control Flame doubled that. The Psionic Power of Control Damage doubled damage. I had to take the time to activate those two Psionic Powers, and spend points to maintain them, so I could maybe do this twice a day. But a 5th level character waits for the big bad buy, and doles out 40d6 of damage. At the same time, as a Bard with a high dex, I was decent with a sword, and had thieving skills to boot. I wasn't completely a one-trick pony. I'm not allowed to play D&D as a player, because it's far too easy to find ways to break the system.

White Wolf doesn't have alignment. In it's place it has a nature/demeanor, as well as a morality path rating. Your nature represents your true nature, and you choose an archetype for it. Your demeanor is how you are perceived by the world. For instance, I am playing a corrupting Lasombra infernalist. His nature is called Eye of the Storm. He gets off on creating chaos, and distabling people's beliefs. His demeanor is one of an Autocrat, who maintains order. Most see him as quite stodgy. Your nature and demeanor don't have to be opposites however. One might be a Pedantic Judge for instance. Your morality path is a set of beliefs you adhere to, and there are many variations. I'm on Path of Night for instance, which has a heirarchy of sins. I maintain based upon my virtues a Path rating. If I commit a sin whose rating equals my path rating or lower, I risk losing ground on my morality path. When your morality path is zero, you lose your sanity as it were, and your character is taken over by the primal beast within all vampires.

What gameworld do you like the best?

I ignore metaplots I don't like. It's simpler that way. -

I've never even physically seen a CD-i. I've played a Jaguar at a friends house. Too bad there were like 3 games for it. The Jaguar was a technical marvel passed over. It got arcade ports, and decent ones, but the first 64-bit processor in a console went to waste. The CD-i had two Zelda titles that Nintendo would like to forget.

FFI is FFI everywhere. FFII and FFIII were not initially released in the US. FFIV was released as FFII in the US. FFV was not initially released in the US. FFVI was released as FFIII in the US. From FFVII on, the titles have been released everywhere with the same titles. The unreleased Final Fantasy titles were redone with new cinematics and released on platforms like the PS1 and GBA for English speakers.

Aahh right, so any -punk themes cannot involve magic then in the sense of fantasy/magician-magic, is that correct? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cyberpunk and Steampunk do not necessarily preclude magic. They just don't normally have magic. Most -punk settings are based in a world not too different from our own. They present a world that could exist with a bit of technology we don't have. For some people, it's easier to immerse and ground one's self in a world where technology exists, but magic doesn't. However, occassionally, as in Shadowrun, someone adds magic to cyberpunk. -
Exactly. The XBox 360 also is ushering in the new version of XBox Live with a free Silver version of Live. You can also purchase micro-content for games, brag up your gamer profile, and perhaps do video chat via Live as well inbetween rounds with the web cam. The new version of Live will also feature a spectator mode where you don't have to compete, but will be able to watch overs in Live games. The Revolution supposedly will have a revolutionary new controller that will change how we play games, and offer downloads of past Nintendo titles. The PS3 will also be my high-def DVD player. Apparently my $250 uber-progressive scan DVD player isn't nice enough. Honestly, all it does is upscale. No DVD player can produce a true 720p, 1080i, or 1080p image natively. Will Sony utilize the HDD more? Will online features be more prevalent in next generation titles? Will HD pictures and surround sound be standard on all PS3 and 360 titles? Yes. I love my PC. But how many PC titles were shown at E3 that impressed anyone? Spore? Civ IV? Is that it? Now watch the video for Killzone 2 and Gears of War. Honestly tell me which is more impressive. I'm not a FPS fan, but the console titles are looking more impressive right now.

Don't Sperm Whales also have the largest genitalia of any creature on earth, save for John Holmes?

The people I've talked to that have played Lineage say it is uber-competitive and focuses very heavily on PvP. It can be intimidating for new players, especially non-Korean new players.

The giant squid is the largest creature without a backbone. It weighs up to 2.5 tons and grows up to 55 feet long. Each eye is a foot or more in diameter.

Will any of you be pulling a David Gaider?

I think people are being a bit juvenile and unreasonable here. Last time I checked the Obsidian guys were answering questions, checking the boards fairly frequently down the stretch of KOTOR:2, and Akari personally tried very hard to implement fan suggestions. They were given a short development cycle to begin with, and then had it cut short by another 3 months by LucasArts. The areas that were handled rather poorly, QA and manufacutring of XBox DVDs, lack of PC patches, etc. were all done by LucasArts. LucasArts closed their internal shop and folded back into ILM. Most everyone is aware of this, but they are blaming Obsidian for no conceivable reason that I can fathom, save for that they can bitch here and we can't bitch to LucasArts. However, that doesn't excuse putting blame where blame doesn't belong. In the whole affair Obsidian has been professional in not griping or pointing fingers. They're getting **** on, and no doubt that would frustrate most people to get so much grief in return for their labor of love. If you want Obsidian to try and cater to the fans, then don't spit in their face. Seriously, what good can such spite hope to accomplish? You're disappointed. That's unfortunate. And with an open forum, you're entitled to express that displeasure. However, it's been months now. I would hope that people would be rational by this point to place blame where blame belongs and stop harassing the dev team. If people offered suggestions as often as we did gripes, maybe we'd get more developer responses here.
