I don't know him personally, but I used to frequent his web site, and I check out all his games.

I've loved Vogel since he formed the Scorched Earth Political Party many years back. I also bought his book on parenting. It's a great read.

Not to mention that I think many people will be going in expecting a continuation of the first two films. Characters like Nightcrawler and Pyro aren't even in the script, with no good reason why, nor any explanation for their disappearance. Wolvie perhaps got too much attention in the first two films, but he is a fan favorite. Who didn't enjoy Wolvie lighting it up and defending the Xavier mansion? Now he'll just follow Storm around like a lapdog?

Again, look at games like Spore. The entire game is almost created for you every time you play. Dynamic missions could be instanced based upon your actions, specific alignment, stats, faction, inventory, etc. NPCs in town can change their schedules and dialogue to represent factions gaining influence in their towns. Populations and economies of towns can fluctuate based upon faction control over various areas.

I think Guild Wars is a step in the right direction as it is a very focuses game designed at being fun and catering to the players. However, is it a game that I think I would enjoy? No. I want a MMO that has an incredible world to explore, good quests, and dynamic storylines where players can shape the world they inhabit.

You should also not use the staple gun when she is late.

I don't know why it was stickied. Obsidian has officially said their next project (Project New Jersey) is a console-only RPG, and it won't be a sequel. So no KOTOR:3. Obsidian could someday do KOTOR:3, but it is not currently in the works.

Being Irish, I like the Irish. I don't seriously think we should eat babies, even if they are Catholic.
-
Obsidian is not working on KOTOR:3. We know that officially. I don't know that anyone is working on KOTOR:3 at the moment.

So people are upset that the Transformers franchise might be handled poorly, but few seem worried or upset about X-Men 3?

When doctors are using surgical staples, they don't use staple guns. In fact, doctors get upset when you use staple guns in the OR.

Harry primarily does reviews. I'm looking for the Clooney story at this very moment. A spy reporter mentioned Clooney. Harry said: http://aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=20369

I didn't insult anyone, or call any names. I believe I asked a valid question in hopes of putting an end to the uncalled for insults cast Obsidian's way. Yet I get a warning for standing up for the company? Can you please explain what was so wrong about my post?

What are your Ability Scores?
EnderAndrew replied to 6 Foot Invisible Rabbit's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
Thank you. I consider that a grand compliment. I know that I have a tendency to come across as arrogant, when I merely tried to answer the question posed in this thread of offering up a personal assessment in game terminology. Never once have I said that I believe myself to be better than others as a person. Testing however, is a form of ranking. To quantify one's attributes, I try to fall back on standards for objective analysis. I was concerned that my initial post would make me appear arrogant, which it did to some. One might note that I was quick to point out that I firmly believe that I am neither the most intelligent person on the planet, nor the best human being. I make note of others I try to emulate and respect for their strengths. -
Why would people be aghast? From a pure logical standpoint, his proposal offered nothing but gain to society over a troubling problem. From a pure humanistic perspective, isn't it better than the population not starve? Why have large groups of people all suffer, when instead a small group can suffer and everyone else can prosper? Didn't Spock say the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few? If the principles of being good are defined as benevolently looking after the well-being of others, then we are rarely good. We define good as following laws, or precepts of religious dogma. Said laws and dogmatic principles don't always take into account the betterment of society as a whole. One doesn't have to be a sophist to see there is a different between say right and wrong, and legal and illegal. Is the term good supposed to apply to law-abiding, or benevolent? Those are important distinctions. In the D&D sense, I have to assume that benevolence makes one good, and law-abiding makes one lawful. But often we intertwine the two.

I read Cinescape, IGN and AICN daily. Can you please kindly point out a single report AICN has made this year that proved to be false? Harry isn't respected by some because of his use of hyperbole. Several movies are the greatest of all time, and several are the worst of all time. But when reporting on facts, such as "this event will happen in said film, or said person has been hired", they are very reliable. I doubt you can demonstrate otherwise.

dueling vs 2 weapon fighting?
EnderAndrew replied to Solar Xero's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Lightsaber stances don't favor Flurry over Critical Strike or vice versa. They don't factor into the arguement. Flurry vs. Power Attack Master Flurry: (1 Lightsaber) Master Power Attack: (1 Lightsaber) ============================= =================================== 50 damage, hit one 62 damage, hit one 50 damage, flurry ============================= =================================== 100 total damage 62 total damage Master Flurry: (2 or Double) Master Power Attack: (2 or Double) ============================= =================================== 50 damage, hit one 62 damage, hit one 50 damage, offhand 62 damage, offhand 50 damage, flurry ============================= =================================== 150 total damage 124 total damage Master Flurry, 2 Weapons, Master Power Attack, 2 Weapons, Master Speed Master Speed ============================= =================================== 50 damage, hit one 62 damage, hit one 50 damage, offhand 62 damage, offhand 50 damage, flurry 62 damage, speed one 50 damage, speed one 62 damage, speed two 50 damage, speed two ============================= =================================== 250 total damage 248 total damage At every level, Flurry is superior. Now let's break down Critical Strike. Flurry vs. Critical Strike Master Flurry: 1 Lightsaber Master Critical Strike: 1 Lightsaber ============================= ====================================== 50 damage, hit one 50 damage 50 damage, flurry (+50% at x3) (+20% at x3) ============================= ====================================== 110 average damage 75 average damage Master Flurry: 2 Lightsabers Master Critical Strike: 2 Lightsabers ============================= ====================================== 50 damage, hit one 50 damage 50 damage, offhand 150 damage (at 50%, we get one here) 50 damage, flurry (+20% at x3) ============================= ====================================== 190 average damage 200 average damage Master Flurry, 2 Weapons, Master Critical Strike, 2 Weapons, Master Speed Master Speed ============================= ====================================== 50 damage, hit one 50 damage, hit one 50 damage, offhand 50 damage, offhand 50 damage, flurry 150 damage, speed one 50 damage, speed one 150 damage, speed two 150 damage, speed two (flurry gets one critical) (at 50% we can assume 2 critical hits) ============================= ====================================== 350 average damage 400 average damage Critical Strike appears to be more powerful here. However there are two factors to consider. The first is that criticals are still random. Flurry is giving you guaranteed extra attacks, over the possibility of criticals. I'll take damage I know I can count on, over damage I may or may not get. Secondly, Master Flurry has no penalties. Master Critical Strike still gives you a -5 to defense. If you don't happen to hit criticals, then you miss your bonus damage, futhermore, you are are far more likely to be hit and take damage yourself with Critical Strike. What's the highest defense you're going to get from armor as a Jedi? 4 or 5? Watch as that is totally blown away by that -5 to defense. At the first level Flurry is more powerful than Critical Strike, at the second level they might as well be dead even, and Critical Strike is more powerful at the third level. So, fairly comparable overall, save for the -5 to defense. I'll take the one with no penalty with everything else being fairly equal. -
Except you are blaiming Obsidian specifically, and not LucasArts. LucasArts specifically is responsible for the patch, but Obsidian is the company who is being dishonest? How is that remotely fair?

Again, AICN has proven to be credible, even if they tend to overreact. They get legit spy reports, legit scripts, and they have plenty of connections in the industry. They did scoop everyone on a variety of X-Men 3 stories. They have their sources. The only knock against the credibility of this story is that the AICN staff didn't read the script first hand. They were told about the script by someone else, but they trust that source enough to report it themselves.

Exactly how many die-hard jaded Fallout fans live in Ames, Iowa and post on these forums?

Question on Old Republic troopers
EnderAndrew replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The movies have a Republic with no military, and it states the Old Republic of the prequels lasted for 1,000 years. The movies then say the Old Republic lasted for 1,000 generations. I'm talking about one movie contradicting another movie. Both are cannon. Neither are EU. -
Someone please try. I don't have Photoshop at work.

Start as LS and fall to the DS
EnderAndrew replied to Cassidy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think it makes more sense in KOTOR than KOTOR:2. Say you play through KOTOR as LS, only to realize that you were once a Dark Lord and had far more power as a Dark Sider. Futhermore, the Jedi council lied to you, and manipulated you. You have motivation to suddenly turn. When in K2 do you have a good reason to suddenly turn? -
dueling vs 2 weapon fighting?
EnderAndrew replied to Solar Xero's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Again, people have done the math on this, and Flurry in the end does more damage than Power Attack and Critical Strike, so the threat range on the single saber doesn't come into play as much as the increased damage of every single attack with a dual-saber.
