  1. Will you play on PC? If Ubisoft's digital distribution platform is anything like Steam, you'll be able to select the language at install time or directly as an advanced property of the game in your Ubisoft library. However, having avoided Ubisoft for quite some time due to their horrible DRM measures, those are only guesses on my part.
  2. Nice piece of hardware, even if stupidly named for an Ivy Bridge If you don't intend to build any computer from it, just sell it again, it's bound to be a good investment with about a 200% ROI in no time xD
  3. After reaching 200'000 and missing their goal, they decided to go for plan B and release the game in a different mode. I for one think it was a good decision and continued to support them in the new model. This Plan B can be read about here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/g3studios/deathfire-ruins-of-nethermore/posts/687176 In short, works as follows: Instead of abandoning the game, now that much of the mechanics already exist and development effort has been put into it, they release it anyway. Knowing that a second Kickstarter later on would bear the same risk of costing time and effort for no return except raising awareness, they decided to release their game chapter by chapter. Six chapters, six episodes. They can be pre-pruchased via Paypal, keeping the structure of the Kickstarter Pledge Rewards except that there are no physical rewards.
  4. I see no reason to rage really... Even if I weren't a software guy myself, I'd sit back and relax. It seems like a danger to crowd funded games, that the crowd also takes the role of producers in terms of being vocally and potentially development-hurtingly unhappy. Currently visible at robertsspaceindustries, hehe
  5. I doubt it would be enough on its own - the guys at Torment did and it brought a nice push, but nothing near 150K or so. Still, it wouldn't hurt. But what it really would need would be more media attention from some high profile internet opinion leaders. And I seriously hope they'd do a second attempt in a few months' time if they fall short this time. It has too many elements that sound good to just let it go to waste.
  6. I agree with Deathdealer, it's what keeps your computer provided with fuel and it's responsible for electrical stability and electric noises of about every component attached, so don't ever save money on that part. However, I disagree with the recommendation for Corsair at least on the lower end of the pricing scale. Not only are they a re-branding company (as far as PSUs are concerned), their inexpensive models also use pretty low quality parts. For reviews, I recommend jonnyguru.
  7. Damn, so the tactics, party-interaction, lots of stats and being an RPG hasn't saved Deathfire from being a victim of a $10'000 backer scam. Has to suck for them.
  8. Pun intended?
  9. They're above 100K now Also, in the latest update they said they'd include physical die rolling, during character creation but also for saving throws for example, as an option To me, this is of course nothing but an option... but a damn cool one! Makes this game even more PnP-like.
  10. Autocompile? I don't know about that, have only seen websites that allow you to manually select items for comparison... some price comparison sites offer the possibility to compare products, as well as specific vendors' sites like Dell's
  11. Haha, looks quite alike to my PC (same case, CPU-Cooler, PSU and a closely related GPU-cooler, also removed upper HDD-bays)
  12. Why am I not surprised Bokishi Yes, for this amount of money and especially when intending to go SLI for 4K, it should have more RAM. Probably has something to do with introducing 6GB versions at a higher price point or keeping Titan buyers with at least one thing that still feels premium about there cards, other than price.
  13. Multiple reports by now, apparently mostly Powercolor cards, but even there it's hit or miss. I'd say unlocking a 290 to a 290x is possible with about the same chance as becoming a victim of the curse of the black screen (current speculation revolves around Afterburner or sensor faults related to fan speed, even on fanless, i.e. watercooled, cards).
  14. The more I read the better it sounds Don't know if it will help funding though, because somehow, the best parts weren't clearly visible as a first impression... German interview http://www.gamersglobal.de/interview/kein-anderes-rpg-macht-was-wir-machen included some things I didn't know: * first question "Honestly - how did you chose the name, some RPG name generator? Or does it actually mean something?" ^^ love straight questions And yes, it actually has a reason to be called that, stems from a dangerous spell burning souls out of people, long ago banished from all official spellbooks. * A HOMM II veteran is part of the team. * They aim for a PnP like feeling (I hope unlike in our current PnP: ginding only and story close to 0)
  15. I think the latest updates of their Kickstarter warrant another look at the game, silly name though it may have. Notably, the party interaction system sounds good, and it should be noted that it's *not* a dungeon crawler only, despite what than many - including me - thought at first, but there's supposed to be good story telling, intrigue and politics for people who like such things
  16. Woohoo :D Very nice move! So I finally downloaded the latest DRM free version from my account at Harebrained Schemes and installed it - enjoying it much more than I thought I would so far :D Been playing it for hours: Good writing, interesting fights, especially when a decker is additionally involved Save system is abysmal of course, but that's slated to change as well. Consider me a satisfied customer who'll buy DRM free expansions happily
  17. User permissions are the problem with putting save files into the game directory. If the player isn't on an Admin account, there are no write permissions for a folder under program files, so it all gets saved to a "virtual store" folder under the user profile path - not really an advantage over the My Documents library, where at least the files are easily backed up / copied to a new PC etc.
  18. Regarding the save file location, this is determined by the version of Windows used. I fully concur with your sentiment against spamming the Documents library with folders upon folders of savegames, but I'm afraid there's not much to be done about it if the Devs don't want to break Windows conventions.
  19. Sooo for all those who thought the Radeon 290X was not nVidia enough, there's now an option to surpass Titan performance without switching the brand. The price is still not AMD-good, but better than Titan. Also, it's basically a fully unlocked Titan, probably shaming all the pround Titan-owners for their overpriced purchase So, times for us hardware fans have improved a little on the price side of things Anyone investing in a 780 Ti?
  20. I don't think it's too much money for a good RPG, but I too had the first impression of "generic fantasy". Even though the first monster, a dinosaur-like thing, pretty locations and portraits suggest somewhat otherwise.
  21. Yes, it will be. This was included in a stretch goal
  22. You are welcome I don't think there's a german forum dedicated to P:E, but the [RPG]Board used to be a good spot for german discussions about RPGs - the section for questions about P:E would be here: http://www.rpgboard.org/subboard.php4?id=18
  23. Deathfire kickstarter is live now More promising than the website actually. New screenshots on the KS page and the trailer show a wealth of skills (traits). So not only dungeon-crawling with monster slaying but also riddes and outside world. The latter is pretty gray currently, but the other artwork is very nice looking, early development seems solid *backed*
--- Englisch-Übersetzung, hoffenltich genau genug: I assume by the email addres you've registered your Paypal account with. Furthermore, they are currently overhauling the website fore PE. You'll be able to create an account there with the same email address, so they can associate your payment with it. You'll certainly be able to configure how you receive your game key (Steam vs. GOG vs. ... for Linux) If you didn't give a valid email address for your payment by PayPal (don't know if that's possible at all), Obsidian's customer support should be able to help associate your payment with your account, if you can provide them with the PayPal transaction number.
  25. Why "as well"? It's alright at idle At load, it consumes some watts more than a Titan, while being somewhat slower, and incredibly much cheaper. Also, it consumes less than a R9 280x, while being faster, with a bigger chip, at the same process node. Put a decent cooler on it, and load consumption will drop 30W (http://ht4u.net/reviews/2013/r9_290_im_griff_prolimatech_mk-26_black_im_test/index7.php)
