Actually, I did one. So I guess there's three? There might be more after you finish the ones I haven't done, so maybe there is more than three. I completed the one where you have to deliver mail in a certain amount of time. The two I currently have on my log that I haven't touched are one for I believe Dr. Zed, something to do with medical supplies being dropped off in mailboxes before they "go bad". The other one I have in my log is for Marcus, again a mailbox thing, but something about him being drunk and sending out notices of refund that he wants you to collect before the customers get them. I haven't really found *any* awesome items. I've found some good purple ones, but none that seem to be my "go to" weapon because of how great its stats are. The bosses seem to just drop items that are equal to or lesser than my current equipment and weapons. Ditto for any chests I find. They mainly contain weapons or items that aren't any better than stuff I've already gotten.

I think you've answered your own question here. The entire plot of Witcher 2 was predicated on a Very political. Baldur's Gate 2 may have had some low level factional stuff you could meddle with, but the basis of the entire plot was the very personal obsession of one Jon Irenicus. Even the "Thieves vs Vampires faction war" aspect was half-hearted and faded out surprisingly quickly as the player went on to Brynnlaw and the Underdark to do more adventurey things. Couldn't you argue that the plot of the Witcher 2 was predicated on Geralt's journey to get his memory back? That was his motivation from the get go. Heck, there were even opportunities to say to hell with politics, I just want to find Triss and get on with my search for Yennifer. The political stuff plays a huge role in the things Geralt ends up doing along the way, but his main motivation for his adventure (for lack of a better word) is the Wild Hunt and trying to regain his memory.

Dragons Dogma type system
GhostofAnakin replied to Klaleara's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
First and foremost, I'd rather they spend their time and resources on the single player aspect. Having said that, I don't think that kind of system would be plausible to expect in a game of PE's scope anyway. It might have a "neat" factor attached to it, but it seems like an overly complicated addition to the game. -
But isn't that part of the whole fun of playing the game? Finding this stuff out for yourself? It's similar to wanting to know more about the game's story. Tidbits of information are one thing, perhaps, but at some point you're spoiling the game for yourself by knowing too much before you even start up a game, IMO.

I'm glad they haven't revealed more information about the story. Where's the surprise when the player actually plays the game if they're giving us tidbits about the story, or the major players in the story, or any other lore that we'll come across when we actually play? I'd rather know as little as possible about the story (or even the tone of the story) before I play the game. As for it not being another PS:T, I don't think it was ever considered to be directly in following PS:T. The catchphrase or selling point has always been about the IE games, not just one specific one.

Speaking of the direction BioWare is going, I hope that thread on the BSN about Casey Hudson wanting to hear fans' opinions on the next Mass Effect game (paraphrasing -- can't remember the exact thread title) is only being left open as a fan service, and they're not actually going to listen to those suggestions. MMO? RTS? Open world like Borderlands? Suggestions that the story is set as a prequel? People begging to keep Shepard as the main protagonist? Just say no.

I'm about to tackle the final quest in BL2. Apart from two timed quests, I think I've completed every other quest in the game.

Overreaction theater!
GhostofAnakin replied to Madzookeeper's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
There's only a total of 116 backers in that tier. If that's true, it's going to be an incredibly quiet forum. -
Cipher Class
GhostofAnakin replied to NOK222's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I think this is going to be one of the more intriguing classes to play as. -
Overreaction theater!
GhostofAnakin replied to Madzookeeper's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
One thing that some folks should probably do is just not pledge until they've heard enough information first. That way they don't have to pledge, then read a new update and come onto the forums and say they're lowering their pledge (or not pledging, period) because of some feature not being what they want. I think that's where the sense of overreaction comes from. If you want a clearer understanding of what the game will feature or not, that's perfectly reasonable. So don't pledge until you have as much information about the game as you need to make an informed purchase. Otherwise it comes across as kind of childish to keep posting about how you're lower or removing your pledge each time a new update comes up that doesn't go how you want it. *shrugs* -
It's a bit of a tough situation for me. My cousin often joins my games now, and on the whole he's fine. But friends from his friends list join, and they're the ones that seem to do the speed runs. What makes it tough for me to tell them to leave the lobby is that they're not intentionally being annoying, that's just how they play. That, and they're constantly giving me weapons they've stockpiled. So I'd feel kind of bad after that. The other problem I'm noticing is that when they join, the enemies level up to their level since they're higher than me. But the problem is, the XP earned per kill remains at my level. So while they think they're helping me out, they're actually making it more difficult to kill enemies and making the rewards for doing so not any higher. I've tended to "have to take off for a bit" lately when they've joined my lobby.

stick to your guns, devs

It would be even better if only male dwarves could wear the armor. -
Enough with the swords and rings
GhostofAnakin replied to Welynn's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
What? As far as I can recall, every fantasy RPG game I've played has had multiple magical weapons/trinkets, not just swords and rings. -
Bows: Limited ammo?
GhostofAnakin replied to Infinitron's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
That's how it should be. Limited number of arrows per quiver, and so if you want to basically horde an entire shop full of arrows, you'll have to sacrifice other items in your backpack to accommodate the extra arrows. -
So I'm not sure how much I like co-op in BL2. At first I thought it would be fun to play with other people, but I'm finding that I'm not enjoying the missions now. Instead of taking my time and finding everything there is to find on a level, I'm doing a speed run through missions because the guys I'm playing with just head straight for the quest markers, and since most have played through once already, they get there before me, and I don't even get to do anything but follow along in my own game!

Is this game worth getting?
GhostofAnakin replied to Brayko's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
What difficulty were you playing at that the bosses were one-shot killing your character? There were certainly some tough battles, but I can't recall ever being one-shot killed by a boss. -
Bows: Limited ammo?
GhostofAnakin replied to Infinitron's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I think bows should have limited ammo, but I think magical ammo should be hard to come by. -
I haven't tried the slot machines yet. Do you get anything unique (ie. weapons/shields) as a reward?

[Merged] Cooldown Thread
GhostofAnakin replied to Ieo's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I'm not the person you posted, but for me it's the same reason I post on other gaming forums, or on hockey forums. Not because I think I can sway the developers (or my favorite NHL team's GM) into doing things exactly how I want, but to discuss something I enjoy with people who also enjoy the same thing. Also, I post my ideas/thoughts on features for PE in hopes the devs might see them and say, "you know, that might work". But I don't post with the belief that they *will* react that way.- 661 replies
