First off, it's George's universe and he will do what he wants with it. He brought you the orriginals and now he's adding new effects and fixing the old ones, deal with it. Second of all, the dialog of the trilogy isn't that incredible to begin with, to say that it was a huge astonishing downgrade in the prequels is rediculous. U want great acting and great dialog u watch LOTR. Some people think that Lucas owes them for being consumers, logic has fallen more into shadow then in the prequel films I mean people actualy think lucas owes them for money they decided to spend on movie tickets. I'm not trying to insult people here but there needs to be an end to topics being derailed around here by lucas bashings. We're the prequels all that great, no, where they all that bad, not realy. Lucas created a fictional universe with his sci-fi films, which is still expanding through games, books, movies, created by lucas or no it's apart of his universe. And he can do what he wants with it. As for Jar Jar, I don't think he specificly is in ROTJ and why would it ruin it? I mean it's the same story, the same actors, what does a minor scene with that idiot change if anything. There is a gungan reference to my knowledge at the end of ROTJ where the gungans are on the rooftops of theed in naboo, when they here the news they all jump up and wave their arms and one screems "WEESA FREEE" But thats just something I heard, but it seems beleivable, possibly even a good scene. I didn't ever realy hate the gungans, no not even jar jar, stupid, clumsy, helped palpatine without knowing... as he was, never realy hated him nor did I see why others would hate him, if stupid side characters anoy you then u need to chill. Atleast SW hasn't been taken over and massacured by B&B the butchers of star trek who have turned a watchable sci-fi show into a recycled peice of garbage. They began their tyranny with voyager which wasn't so bad with the exception of the lack of good acting skills for specific characters, and over recycled plots. Enterprise slaughtered continuity, threw old characters at veiwers that weren't supposed to be introduced yet, then when ratings dropped they tried to get the old fans back by adding startrek to the name, this wasn't working, their alienated fans had left and few remained. This caused them to try and get new veiwers by showing a topless T'pol on screen for a consecutive 3 shows. Needless to say the acting quality is terrible. George hasn't sunk to the level yet of thinking of people as one thing, lifeless cash cows with the sole purpose of giving him money or atleast not to the extent B&B have. He could vary easily completely screw all the old characters over make millions. Star Wars never did have too much common sense, planets pop like baloons, in the next revision they do have a new effect for the deathstar blowing a planet to bits. Needless to say there will probaly be a final revision somewhere down the road to all 6 films. A sort of final work from lucas the completed revised SW film series. Note that like all my posts, the above is a statement of my opinions and veiws and no offense is intended

I always run into those NPC-NPC conversations after Taris. But yeah there should be more of them in KOTOR 2

Is TSL the best upcoming star wars game?
Chemix replied to OrganisedChaos's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I voted "KOTOR 2, then RC when it's cheaper" but I could go either way, I prefer FPS to RPG, but like a good storyline. I'll have to wait and see what each has to offer. -
Why did Revan go to Korriban?
Chemix replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
There was no sarcofigause inside the "Temple" of Naga Sadow, I think it was a mistake when they labeled it a tomb. There was a pillar housing his sword, yet nothing indicating that he was actualy burried there. As for the whole revan disapearance thing, he disapeared because Obsidian/LA didn't think KOTOR could continue with revan again. Though it might be possible in some twisted way that u are revan again, with another blow to the head, but it's extremely unlikely. I doubt "went to korriban then disapeared into the unkown reaches of space" is a nod towards the first game, but it could be, it's very plausible since Obisidan/LA didn't want to tick anyone off. As for the thing Ajunta Paul was talking about, I'm pretty sure he was referencing to the starmap. I tend to like the "went to find out about his past and something happened" theory, rather then the "went to find something of great power" theory that is reused far too much. I also however did enjoy the "uncovered something bigger" theory which is again plausible and could relate to the sith lords plot giving it a bit of a twist. Note that these are all either opions or veiws from my perspective -
KOTOR 2 multiple love interests?

KOTOR 2 multiple love interests?
Chemix replied to thesnowman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
it's apart of the story, I'm getting sick of these comments piling up "game girls can't look attractive because it's pixels, EWWW" "people who like game romances need to get a life" First point, the 3d models featured in the game are artists representations of ideas/characters/people, it doesn't matter whether it's projected on a TV a computer or whatever, if something looks good then it does, if something looks attractive then it does. It's anoying when people call others names just because they think a game character looks good. After a while it just gets pointless. I don't think game characters equate to real women or anything like that, I don't prefer game characters to real women, but to say that they can't be considered good looking or beautiful is a bit rude espescialy when it seems to be followed by an insult or the like as it seems so common around here. As for game romances, it's apart of the story, it adds realism, it adds depth, and in games like KOTOR it's optional, u don't want it, u don't have to have it, it's not forced on u to do so. Ofcourse it will never compare with anything real and isn't intended to replace the real thing. -

Which Jedi Style do you prefer?
Chemix replied to Darth_Gandalf's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I prefer the dual bladed lightsaber, liked it a heck of alot better than single since I first saw it. It just looks cool, with just one blade my screen doesn't have enough glowing energy beam weapon coolness being displayed as with a dual blade. I don't like the look of two sabers. But these are all just my opinions -
If Jedi arent allowed to love?
Chemix replied to GSpotFrenzy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yeah I knew about the spy thing, I meant after he killed his brother I didn't know much about him. First he killed a guy who was attacking the leader of the krath to show his allegence Some dude (can never remember his name) stabbed him with a spear covered in sith poison, it burned him till he fully collapsed into the darkside, he then killed the dude and took his place. Or atleast I think it was the krath, might have been someone else, possibly the sith The culture and apearance was what I didn't like about the vong, the whole regilous mutilation thing threw me off. When I first heard about them I thought they were some non-humanoid creatures who were resistant to the force and hoped that they had a different motive then simply wanting power or simply being evil, even if it circles around their dark religon they simply wanted to wipe people out or enslave them, the theme seems over repeated to me. The books sound good none the less The NJO books and the balance of the force seems to be a repeat of restoring the constantly shifting/ unbalancing balance. Whereas anakin and luke were the first, the next generation rebalanced it again, and it may continue that way for many ages, I din't think anything was wrong with the prophecy of the balance of the force. I never thought that there was any real dark side or light side, but only the goodness and the corruption of the mind, I knew it was established in the EU somewhere, but didn't know it was in NJO, thnx for the insight -
If Jedi arent allowed to love?
Chemix replied to GSpotFrenzy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I got it from what I think was the second or third thread on this topic, it's most likely been lost among the collecting spam, search for exar kun and it might come up. I never read the New Jedi Order books, but I have heard alot about them, and I like what I hear, with the exception of the look and cultural practices of the Yuuuzang Vong, which I think are a tad on the usual side if only they could have had less humanoid less demonic villans, oh well I guess I'm just searching for an equivilent to B5, but alas I doubt much will live up to the splendor and greatness that was B5, mabey one day they'll remake the series or something with the latest special effects and better actors, with a few reacurring actors from the original, but I'm driving off the topic and into the world of spam myself now. As for why it was put inplace even when love ended the war, probaly because the cost (thousands upon thousands of lives) which they didn't want to happen again. And to my knowledge it was ulic's brother's love for ulic that allowed he to be betrayed/killed, he wouldn't fight if I recall. I dunno much more about what happened to ulic besides his powers being taken by Naomi Sunrider and being stuck in the ice temple thing with Naomi's daughter, aswell as his ultimate demise. Did his killing his brother snap his darkside nature or something? The jedi are most unwise throughout all star wars so it seems or atleast about emotion so they seem. I personaly think yoda knew about palpatine, or atleast knew something was up, something that he figured he was unable to stop or he simply didn't know enough about the situation to figure it out. Palpatine was also clouding the minds of the universe remember. I'd like to see more of his manipulation in the forground though it is fun to figure out for oneself, even if it is easy to figure out. To my knowledge yoda fights palpatine in episode 3 so mabey he's not all that dumb Yoda was also key in restoring balance, with him training luke and all that. The Jedi have their own subtle manipulations which they imploy to try and maintain peace, needless to say, it doesn't seem to work -
To my knowledge the atton rand thing started when the first ingame pics were released of him, he had a very... womanly... face. Well now we know one thing the pet isn't

Light Side new offensive power poll

"No power is inheritly good or evil, it's how you use them" Kyle Katarn- Jedi Academy This is what I go by about the force powers. -
And so the flames resurface when I disagree with popular opinion, how suprising, do u realy have to drag the dead wheight that is the past with u wherever u go, if u read the other boards (not obsidian) u would know whats been going on, and have ur proof that there was work, read through the forum pages a bit and u'll find a post by me, but that probaly won't matter to u anyways. I don't want this thread to degenerate into flames and crap. I've stated my opinion on the topic already.

If Jedi arent allowed to love?
Chemix replied to GSpotFrenzy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
you should read on the last page or the page for it, I posted a long bit about the sith war (exar kun war) having to deal with jedi rules about love and such. -
Ofcourse it assumes LS, SW can only continue LS.

I will keep on reading the boards and scowering for data on the game. I heard about the plot of LOTR ROTK before I saw the film and I never read the book, was I disapointed, no, I still think it's the best film I've ever seen. I say if u don't want spoilers, don't read them. How much can be given away in a thread title besides a simplistic plot twist like "you are revan". However as a whole I've lost interest, the boards have run dry and things seem to be getting rather stale
-
I'm sick of speculation, I've realy started to loose intrest in KOTOR 2, the forums are running dry on good topics, most decent topics around are discussions about the star wars universe, one of the reasons I still come here
-
I apologize, I didn't know the date was pushed back
-
Lucas Arts is a Branch of the Lucas Film company. they might not have direct involvement in it, but they may be putting in some resources towards it and besides, read the rest of the post, battlefront and commando are closer to release than KOTOR 2
-
if u want a suprise don't look, don't click the link I don't think LA gives a crap about KOTOR 2, BattleFront is in the process of release and The Triolgy DVD comes out on tuesday and Commando will be released soon. KOTOR 2 will be released later then the rest so I don't think they realy care, they're probaly focussing on their other work which is coming out sooner, promoting it and such

If Jedi arent allowed to love?
Chemix replied to GSpotFrenzy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
u try banishing some your own deepest emotions and see how well u handle it -
Nur Ab Sal, the point of the matter is, KOTOR isn't your vision, KOTOR was written so anybody could play as a character that acts like them, and looks how they want. If it were bastila u couldn't be anything but a pre-perscribed female character. I don't like how they had the bastilla character start off as an uncaring self imposing thankless... either, but hey u get a chance to see a softer side if you work at it, and it wasn't my choice, so I deal with it. Revan was the main character and I'm glad, revan wasn't nonsense or stupid, he stopped a mandalorian invasion with a nearly crippled republic. He had amnesia, he was manipulated, he was thrown into the front lines of a loosing battle over Taris.
