It's not a true sequel, a true sequel would resume the roll of revan, but it is not an addon pack, a sequel none the less, just not a true sequel

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

The current engine shows capability of running an FPS system. I would rather the KOTOR franchise not taken the RPG route in the first place, keep it away from RPG games. I'm not trying to offend anyone but I simply don't like CRPGs, or real RPGs, making a good game not based on the outdated quake 3 engine with better combat then the JK series and a half decent storyline. But hey I don't realy give a dang, so long as it's starwars, looks good, and is on the PC I'm likely to get it for the storyline. Which is the only redeeming quality of KOTOR for me, the graphics aren't that great, the anims aren't that great, the only thing that surpassed other games was the character graphics, which were very high quality. But these are all just my opinions and no offense is intended *prepares flame retardent suit and blast shield* -

probaly because there were so many different faces for revan u can't place it as a specific one, and there isn't enough room in the poll to describe each head. -

FPS direct combat, no turns, no ques, just realtime combat action. RPG leveling system, attributes, powers and XP FPS movemeant It would likely mean alot more work for the level designers if it was an FPS/RPG I enjoyed JK2's story, preffered JKA gameplay (gotta have a dual bladed lightsaber) and other small bits of JKA. Never played anything before JK2 in terms of the Katarn Stories. I mainly liked JK2 because the villan wasn't human and wasn't quite run of the mill use a super gun to win guy, he still had a super weapon but it wasn't the generic super gun it was a massive carrier for an invasion force. -

I think it has been said recently in one interveiw or another that the old heads are no longer being re-used. However there will be a broader selection of new heads to choose from, from what I recall something like 30-40 heads or somethin. Ofcourse I could have simply misread but I think the above info is correct EDIT: Forgot to add, I voted for Atris as always in these polls, beautiful in the original concept art, terrible in the promos. -
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
Chemix replied to ShadowFaxIV's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It'd be nice to see something like that, but RPGers seem to despise FPS, describing it as "twitch" gaming because it requires decent aim and combat skills to play. I'd be all for it none the less. The RPG crowd on the other hand moaned on and on about THE FREAKIN TURRET GAME, so I don't think LA is going to risk sales by making an RPG/FPS but who knows? If they turned over the KOTOR series to an FPS/RPG series they would be taking a risk, a gamble if u will, get FPS players and some RPGers or get few FPS players and loose the original RPGer following No offense is intended all the above are my own opinions. -

I think the engine has the capability but real time speeder movement would probaly go along the lines of an FPS rather then a CRPG, oh how I despise the fact that KOTOR is an RPG, dang turn based combat stupidity... a speeder cutscene would be nice though -
I want a Basalisk war droid!
Chemix replied to metalheadnerdguy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Perhapse they'll have a smaller version of the basilisk. Like dog size or something, mabey a bit bigger -
I don't like the idea, and to my knowledge it's been said that the fading promo switch represents light and dark extremes, good and evil so I don't think she'll be this "female dark lord"

Escape from Tar-Ris- Snake Onasi -
bastilla is a very anoying, cold hearted self imposing hypocrit, who can become a warm hearted denial filed caring person for a few minutes if u work at it for a while, ofcourse then she turns dark and gets back her old attitude allong with an even larger ego. I'd say bastilla was worse then leia but this is all my opinion, I liked the bastilla character but there were an excessive amount of redundant flaws and the old forbidden romance theme is so dang over used, it shouldn't have even been around at this time and if I may ask again where is that wallpaper/concept art that shows them both standing in a dark hallway, atris with her sabet drawn and the MSG hiding in the shadows? I have half the image (the atris part) but could never find the whole image anywhere

to my knowledge it has been stated that both peragus and dxun count as planets in the 7 planets list

I'm not comparing it to any game, and the x-box isn't all that weak, it could support a decent korriban
-
First off I'm not an EU fanatic, and for ur information, I have never read a single starwars comic book, novel, or otherwise. All I've read is on the starwars databank and whats been posted in starwars forums, the rest I know from games. Bioware spent alot of time making this game, but so does every developer when they make a game, it doesn't make up for the fact that they were lazy and made mistakes I like things to be accurate, and I like things to look good, both of which korriban failed in due to laziness on Bioware's part. Bioware failed to use resources and copied the OT mixed in with BG or NWN whichever plot they used

not every starwars book is considered a cannon part of EU

Dueling feat or Double Weapon feat?
Chemix replied to Zach Morris's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I don't think making penalties on it will help, a simple feats system just doesn't seem realistic enough then again RPGs arent't the best for gameplay in my opinion. It's common in the newer star wars games because people like to use something besides a single saber which is a very old concept that has been used everywehre, seeing a dual bladed weapon or 2 seperate weapons used at once is a new thing for alot of people and it seems that they like it. All the more for variety. I agree with the opinion above that the maul vs Qui Gon and Obi Wan was one of the best duals in the starwars films. Though the forcefields seemed out of place as did the pit, random forcefeilds and a pit, hmmmm what use do they serve, reminds me of a scene from galaxy quest... But none the less it was a great battle. -
If KotOR was made into a movie...
Chemix replied to jaguars4ever's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
well, Lucas is going ahead with a SW TV series not under his controle, why not make a KOTOR movie, it'd be like watching the trilogy mixed with old Bioware plotlines. No offense intended -
LA most likely didn't give a dang, and lets not forget they've passed worse plots, IE Jedi Accademy's plot, if something will sell they'll put their mark on it Also Laozi, if I recall correctly, TOTJ was under Lucas' special supervision. A valley filled with giant sculptured temples, greek and egyption styled buildings, and evil beasts created by darkside magic/alchemy (which was referred to as such as they didn't understand the force, what would u call something when somebody starts lifting objects with ur mind and u have the intelligence equivilent of somebody in the egyption era), sounds a heck of alot better then a small little area with very simplistic wall like buildings on either side with copied entrances. Star Wars was designed to be a not so gory exciting family watchable sci-fi film. Not the PG rating and the lack of anything thats excessively gory up till luke gets his hand cut off. Rather then see obi-wan slashed in half he disapears and becomes one with the force. In episode 1 maul is slashed in half and yet is somehow cauterized enough not to bleed everwhere and his guts not to fall out. The storyline is somewhat simplistic. Not that Star Wars isn't great, but it's not like it wasn't designed with children veiwers in mind.
-
To my knowledge most are from post KOTOR era or Post ROTJ era, not an extreme amount is in the time period before or during the KOTOR era. The story wasn't all too great either, I thought so at first but it's greatness wears away very quick. They were just lazy

If KotOR was made into a movie...
Chemix replied to jaguars4ever's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I've seen alot of actresses who look a heck of alot better then bastilla... Making the movie with CGI characters would be trivial and useless, IE it would make the movie just like the game but with better combat and more of a plot and less of a game. U'd need to make it live action to escape backlash for simply remaking the game with better graphics. Perhapse Liv Tyler for the roll of bastila, hmmmm Hugo Weaving could play a good Karath The guy who plays Lex on smallvile seems far too young for the roll of bandon perhapse one of the sith in the silver bandon like armor Perhapse remake everything so it can co-incide with EU, IE remake the ships, make the ebon hawk more old fashioned, redo Korriban to look like Korriban As I said before all the characters would need more depth, and the be more thought out, and ofcourse the people NEED BETTER AIM with a blaster. But I'm rambling off Revan- Tom Cruise Bastilla- Kate Bekinsdale or Liv Tyler Carth- Kurt Russel, watch stargate and u'll see why, though the character would need to be less whiny Mission- Hillary Duff Zaalbar- Tall dude who can make wookie sounds Canderous- Ron Perlman, if u've seen alien ressurection, u should see a dang close resemblence between the two, heck even sounds like him Saul Karath- Hugo Weaving Calo- Danny DeVito Yuthura- Angelina Jolee Jolee- if I'm remembering correctly from lethal weapon, yeah Danny Glover could play this roll, he looks alot like him HK- CGI with same voice actor as the game T3- Animatronic with computer generated beeps Uthar- Patrick Stewart Malak- Vin Deasil -
If KotOR was made into a movie...
Chemix replied to jaguars4ever's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Hmmmmm seems 2 of my cast matched up, mission- Hillary Duff and bastila- Kate Bekinsdale (hmmm only saw her in underworld, she looks quite nice in that picture, better for the apearance then expected), but ron perlman as zaalbar? watch alien ressurection, ron perlman looks almost exactly like canderous. Though their choice for HK is good, he plays the humerous phsycopath very well (watch Armegeddon) I'd rather see the original voice actor in this role. I stand by my choice for bindo however, morgan freedman is a great actor and could play the role of the somewhat mysterious cranky old man very well, but they probaly should give him more plot use (IE some sort of plot twist for his character)
