  1. Gee, the weekend programmer thread blew me for a loop when Akari mentioned that this was indeed viable. If there are specific feats to shape a character this way, I am pretty sure quite a few will build characters for this. Sort of like a Shaolin monk type Jedi LOL. But I wonder if there are any equipment that can help (like the Power Fist sin Fallout). This should make Kotor 2 experience quite a bit different.
  2. Wish there were more information coming soon. The suspense is killing me considering the Xbox release is only slightly over a month to go.
  3. That would apply to T3 as well... But I don't think that's coherent story-wise. Using the PnP as a reference, I'd say Revan was around level 18 at the end of KotOR, and the rest of the party substantially less powerful. It is clearly stated that Mandalore 'died at the hands of the Jedi Revan'. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> At least T3 could be justified to going back to a low level with a memory wipe , same could be said for HK47 (or is it 50 in the new game??). I don't think Canderous suffering amnesia would be a suitable plot device LOL.
  4. Hmm, if you do get a Mandalore, it should be high level character considering the way their leadership selection process goes :D . He should not probably join the party at least until the party is in the mid-teens. Canderous was level 20 by the end of KOTOR so he seems too high level to be a suitable joinable NPC.
  5. Definitely Weapons Master first. If the first Kotor was any indication, a meelee prepared build would be the better way to go until you get a hang of all the force powers available. Though I wonder if you could go consular to weapons master?? Anybody familiar with the D20 system on what requirements there are to choose a specific prestige class?
  6. Stims have drawbacks as well! I didn't use them as well as security spikes! They were booth preety pointless! Shields and grenades I horded like a hermit! Used them like no tommorow on the Leviathan and Star forge levels! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Huh? What drawbacks? They last for 2 minutes and give a boost to your stats. I don't see any after effects like fatigue or anything like that after use. Best of all there were a lot of merchants selling them in unlimited quantities dirt cheap.
  7. I really hope you are right. Wish one of the devs would post a confirmation. Would be cool to have more than one prestige class Jedi in the party :D
  8. Basically, whether you can recharge shields and droid upgrades in game. There were a quite few times I in KOTOR1 was wondering does this battle warrant the extra precaution of a shield etc that I kept deferring using them until the Starforge LOL. At least in the BG series, you could recharge magical items by selling and buying them back from a store. I don't think money is ever really a problem in KOTOR games anyway but I really hated the fact that I kept being held back from going all out with the Carbonite Mark II projector when I wanted T3 to go trigger happy with it.
  9. Sorry if this has been asked before. I didn't seem to find any relevant post with a search of "prestige class NPC" parameters. Just wondering if it would be possible to select a prestige class for each of your JEDI NPCs as they level up the same as your JEDI PC. Would seem kind of odd if you can't. If not, what would be the reason why not.
  10. I tend to prefer Jedi PC, a Jedi and a non-Jedi. Managing an all Jedi party with the screwy AI script in KOTOR was annoying. Ex. Jolee keeps on casting Valor while Juhani would use Affliction etc when you are doing something else with your character.
  11. I don't think that is a problem. Remember in the first one, the Sith controlled world of Korriban had that awfully helpful Czerka rep, that other Rodian guy and Mika Dorrin (though he was not a legitimate merchant).
  12. If you went up to Scout 5, then you got TWO implant feats automatically and only had to use one more feat. Even if you only use the implant slot for the immunity to critical heats one (no need to go up to level 3 implants) to use a poison/mind immunity mask for your head gear, it would have been a decent trade.
  13. Can you explain how this gives the most force points? In Kotor, the force points you get depended on what level you decide to level from the first class to Jedi, the jedi class you picked and the wisdom/charisma modifiers. Which was why I like the scout class to dual from at a low level since their benefits are so frontloaded (better saves, better automatically granted feats). Unless of course you really like sneak attack damage. As for myself, since our characters can get to level 30, I would like to use 3 feats for implants if there are feats to spare.
  14. CNS strength enhancer belt. +2 strength and ALL SAVES. Plus you get it early enough to get a lot of mileage out of it and is one of the items that never becomes obsolete (face it how many of the items did you keep using that were picked up in Taris?).
  15. Those Jedi robes look pretty spiffy. Similar to the younger Obi Wan's getup?
  16. In order of preference Pistols: Cassus Fett's pistol Saul Karath's Sith Assasin pistol Mandalorian Heavy blasters from Calo Nord in Tattooine/purchased from the Czerka merchant in Tattooine Rifles: Baragwin Ion-X weapon from Yavin Baragwin Disruptor-X weapon from Yavin
  17. I kind'o like running around using Force Speed... Altough, how the heck does my party keep up with me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I believe it called the Force Power "Suspension of Disblief"
  18. With the first KOTOR, most players wind up not using the non-Jedi NPCs once they got past Dantooine or very sparingly. I actually found the non-Jedi NPCs pretty useful at times especially Mission in partnership with Jolee. With Jolee disabling and damaging enemies with force powers, Mission sneak attacking the lot and the PC had a hard time keeping up with the damage she was doing. Or a tandem of meelee build Carth and Canderous with a consular PC etc. I think Mira is going to be interesting to use. As a scout she will have the best possible saving throws of any character in the party. The wrist launcher looks pretty wicked but not sure what advantage it really has over blasters and grenades. Do wrist launched ammo not need to roll to hit? That could be pretty powerful unless the ammo is limited. After all, grenades don't need to roll to hit either, just rolls to evade certain effects and determine damage. Atton Rand being a scoundrel like Mission could be pretty devastating if used properly and with the proper party complement. The Zabrak looks pretty mean but I don't have much information on him. As per the devs, they are designing the game to encourage people to swap NPCs in and out to give them all a chance. Any of you have specific intentions of how to best exploit these NPCs given the limited information we now have.
  19. Gee. That has not occurred to me. Hope one of the devs will answer this. In the first KOTOR, the further up the meter you were the more of a hit in points you get if you do just one act of the opposite alignment. It has been noted that the PC alignment also impacts some of the NPCs alignment as well.
  20. I think the artwork released for Atris has been pretty good. Better than even Bastila's for the original KOTOR. That is the only basis for my casting in this poll. Remains to be seen how they will flesh out her character.
  21. I hope not. I would really hate not having any choice in feat and powers if that were the case. The DS Bastila you get at the Unknown World Temple Summit choices of force powers and feats really ticked me off that I foreswore going the DS route ever again. Off topic: Glad to see another person that liked Ender's Game on this board.
  22. That is nice to hear about the area transition. I don't know if I agree about Power Attack. To non-Jedi characters, power attack will only get them 20 additional damage per round assuming a double weapon and both hits but for a Guardian Jedi with master speed and double weapon on that is 40 additional damage guaranteed if they connect (AB is not an issue with Guardians). I usually end up giving Carth and Canderous Flurry but with Juhani, I max out Power Attack tree as 40 additional damage per round is higher than damage from an additional 5th attack with Master Speed.
  23. If the first game was any indication, I would go for the brute force route first before finesse. So most likely Guardian/Weapons Master or Guardian/Sith Marauder.
  24. I think there already is. I call it Force Reload. By the way, what will determine who starts now in a pazaak game in KOTOR2?
