How is everyone's FPS? I'm using a 512MB 6800XT and I don't seem to be getting any more than 30 FPS indoors, and 20-25/30 FPS outdoors. I've tried lowering the settings, but to no discernible effect. Any ideas on what other graphic options to disable to yield greatest FPS benefits?

You can say that five or six more times. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yet I'm still playing... *Knight to King Bishop Three*

But not in the way chaos echo intended.

How did you manage that?

Does anyone know how to make the text bigger? Resolution adjustment doesn't seem to have much of an effect.

You're right, Volo. Awesome! Long Live NWN1! Long Live NW2!

This could be the funniest 65 seconds in...

That was pretty good so don't get me wrong, but I'm inclined to agree with Mets. It was too esoteric in nature for it to be universally funny, enough though it was great if you got the reference(s). Regardless, "the best" is so subjective a ranking that we would always be disagreeing. Anyway, here are two totally sweet & awesome funneh moments that are certainly worthy of being amongst the greatest in cartoon history IMO: Family Guy South Park :D -
Your puny brick and mortar stores cannot compare with the infinite virtuosity of the Net. Long live D2D!

Guess what, I already went with the Armored Battle Drow Mage of the Underdark option. :D Given that it has 2 additional build point (char & int) as well as the dex bonus which the moon elves have AND bling-bling spell resistance (something like 11+ lvl), it was a no brainier. My original build was: Str: 14 Dex: 14 Con: 14 Wis: 8 Int: 16 Cha: 16 But then I changed it to: Str: 16 Dex: 10 Con: 12 Wis: 8 Int: 16 Cha: 18 Do you think that I should have put at least 2 points for the added AC (since most armors allow at least 1 dex modifier)? I've only been playing through the tutorial, so I don't mind having to rebuild if I have too. Also: Reserved Guardian voice is back! (w00t)

Yay - they've resurrected the KotOR font color! Welcome back Bluey, oh how we've missed you - K2's mean green can never compare to you!

IThat doesn't make a lot of sense. It's not like developers test their games solely for reviewers. Developers' interests in making non-buggy games extends beyond reviews. A developer that says "let's go half-assed on this and fix it later" is a pretty ****ty developer. Wouldn't we also have to recognize the constraints that a developer is put under that might hinder a game's performance? I don't see any problems with reviewing patched titles, just so long as you indicate that the title's been patched. It's the version most people should be playing, anyway. Reviewing an old version is reviewing a game few people will play. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For better or for worse, games which are reviewed and received well tend to do well, and the converse is also true. Nobody said developers test their games solely for reviewers, but the fact remains that developers do care about their reviews. You need look further than the review accolades Obsidian or Bioware posted in the past on their homepage. Also, unfortunately there are develops for half-ass it and release a seemingly never ending series of patches later. Ironically in fact, one of them continues to consistently develop the fastest selling game within the UK (not mentioning any names). This particular studio knows the public is going to buy their title, so they try to get it out in time for the Christmas rush. Does this make them a bad developer? I'll leave that for you to judge.

That is true quite often, but whether that's attributed to the devs or the paper pushing publishers varies from case to case.

NWN2: Major disappointment - Character creation

The Omricon Neverwinter Evils shall rise again! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> w00t <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If any of you get seperated, or throw yourselves on an enemies sword at the most unopportune moment for no apparent reason, think of me and smile... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't panic - just remember the golden rule: If in doubt, let Kiro scout it out! -
For evaluation purposes, I would hold a game to the state it's in out-of-the-box. Otherwise we're just condoning developers to be lax and release quasi-buggy titles under the future justification that every thing will be patched.
-
Ah, okay then. I guess that's always better than being punched.

Just don't forget he/she is still a mage, ergo get some distance from the enemy, and if its truly needed, you can get more...personal. If so, use this combo (my favorite) true strike-hit-true strike-hit (and start again till the requested effect on the enemy -death- is recieved) This build is same as others till lvl 10-13, but then it suddenly increases in effeciency atleast 225% PS: don't forget that some armor modifiers doesn't stack, so you can use with the magic armor other rings (like regeneration) and capes (like the Nymph one) Also, with the always increasing Charisma it simulates the developement of the 'Aura of power and influence' the character has around him. (yeah, i am a real pnp player ) This build seem freakin' genius, Jorian. It has high AC (from armor), high AB (from true strike), high spell potency (from char), high level spells (from non-multi classing)...and most of all SHINY armor and bling-bling sword weps!!

What's wrong with that guy's cheek? Is it just the lighting or has it seem to have taken a rather peculiar overgrowth?

I was waiting for the first person to post that <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And I was waiting for the first person to comment on the first person who posted that.

Ugh. Civilizations rise and fall, but the defragmentation still trudges to a crawl.

Check your Vault Dweller's Guide, Darque. It has everything you need to survive the post-George "Dubya" wasteland.

as i said the armor profiency is it all albout, like in real life, your character will get used to the heavier, bulkier ones. (get on lvl1 light armor, lvl3 medium, lvl9 heavy) also he/she has to try to make it possible to cast spells in them without problems (get on lvl 12 still spell) so if you manage to find an armor what does not modify your casting chances, Great! BUT if not, then you can still cast one level differenced still spells, and that means lvl 5 spells on lvl 12. So whats the difference between normal mages and armored ones in 3.5 ? -armored ones have either an elven (or similar) magic-friendly armor, or they cast one spell lever lower than others (but thats no big difference on lvl11-13) -armored ones are....well, armored, and with some nice, hastened, damage resistant (or whatever full plate armor you find) you are more able to survive great fights (and armor looks ussually nicer than robes too...and its SHINY!) -don't forget the nicest, first priority of armor: defense. You will have high AC, like fighters As mentioned i also like to combine this with elves, they have profiency in rapiers (good critical range), longswords (most powerfull/legendary weapons are longswords), crossbows (can pierce in real life full body armor), and of course longbows (the best ranged magic weapons are ussually longbows) Also there is a bonus to this char design in MP: an enemy of you will think you are a warrior before you burn his backside with some chain lightnings, or summon some hordes of monsters on him <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That sounds awesome, Jorian. Looks like I'll be foregoing that Paladin build (Holy Avenger!!) I had in mind. Elven Battle Mage, here I come.
-
Alright then, Jorian. I'm up for trying out the Elven Armored Battle Mage of Death. Give me step-by-step lowdown on how he should be created and built. 3.5 edition still lets you cast in armor (albeit with a cast rate deficiency), right? Otherwise it'll turn into a scour-fest for the bling-bling elven chain mail.
